Fox Spirit Romance: The Adventures of a Little Fox

Yuen Ye carefully held Chuyi (the little fox) as he walked through a bamboo forest, arriving at a hidden cave. The entrance was obscured by vines, making it difficult to discover this secret place without a keen eye. Upon entering the cave, a faint herbal fragrance wafted through the air; various herbs and jars were arranged around, indicating that this was a healer's dwelling.
Yuen Ye placed Chuyi on a stone bed covered with soft hay and gently stroked her head, softly saying, "Don't worry, with me here, you'll be fine."
Chuyi twitched her nose, catching a whiff of the cool herbal scent coming from Yuen Ye. She struggled to open her eyes and saw Yuen Ye cutting a glowing herb with a small knife.
"This is my family's special medicine; it's very effective for treating burns. You'll be better in no time," Yuen Ye said as he applied the crushed herb to Chuyi's wounds.
Chuyi felt a refreshing sensation spreading through her body from the wound, and the intense burning pain diminished significantly. She comfortably squinted her eyes and couldn't help but let out a soft whimper.
"It seems you really like this medicine," Yuen Ye observed, a slight smile appearing on his face like a warm spring breeze.
In the following days, Yuen Ye took meticulous care of Chuyi, changing her dressings on time, giving her water to drink, and often carrying her for walks in the woods, hoping to help her recover quickly.
However, although Chuyi's injuries gradually improved, she remained unable to transform back into her original form, still sporting charred black fur like a potato that had been burnt.
"Awoo awoo..." Chuyi called out to Yuen Ye, anxiously pacing around on the ground.
"Are you hungry?" Yuen Ye misunderstood Chuyi's intentions and pulled out a package wrapped in oil paper from his pocket. Upon opening it, he revealed it was filled with various delicacies: roasted chicken legs, Braised Beef, Osmanthus Cake...
"Go ahead and eat; I specially prepared these for you," Yuen Ye said as he held out a piece of Osmanthus Cake towards Chuyi's mouth.
Chuyi turned her head away in disdain, pushing Yuen Ye's hand away with her paw and letting out an unhappy "awoo."
"You don't like sweet things?" Yuen Ye asked again as he waved a roasted chicken leg in front of Chuyi. "How about this?"
Chuyi rolled her eyes in frustration; what she needed most right now was to restore her magical powers, not these earthly foods!
Yuen Ye looked at the little black fox before him with confusion in his eyes, not understanding why she refused to eat.
"Could it be that the food I prepared doesn't suit your taste?" Yuen Ye muttered to himself with a furrowed brow.
He stood up and walked over to a stone table where he picked up an old yellowed book and began flipping through its pages.
Chuyi watched Yuen Ye's serious profile and sighed inwardly; this man was indeed handsome but seemed rather dim-witted.
As Yuen Ye flipped through the ancient book, he read aloud: "Fox... dietary habits... omnivorous... prefers... meat... fruits..."
"Could it be that she doesn't like cooked food?" Suddenly struck by inspiration, Yuen Ye set down the book and quickly exited the cave.
Chuyi curiously followed behind Yuen Ye, eager to see what he was going to do next.
Yuen Ye walked into an orchard where he picked several bright red fruits and then ran to the stream to catch some plump fish.
"Here, try these." Yuen Ye placed the fruits and fish in front of Chuyi, watching her with eager anticipation.
Chuyi stared at the items before her, utterly speechless. She was unable to transform right now; she wasn't turning into a beast, so how could she possibly eat these things!
