Teacher Qin fainted on the spot, and when he woke up, he found the supermarket manager and the police there. The supermarket believed that the thief had just been caught and was now coming to threaten them, which severely affected their sales atmosphere. 0

I was nearby, and the more I listened, the more I wanted to laugh. I thought to myself, this person is really unlucky; he must be scared out of his wits! 0

Teacher Qin was indeed close to losing his mind. He simply could not understand why he had cut his wrist with a knife. Even if he was in a daze, he shouldn't have been foolish enough to do something like that! When he got home and told his wife and child, they both ran away in fear. His wife directly threw out a remark: "It's all because of that broken Amulet you wear. Nothing good ever happens when you have it on. The day you throw it away is the day I'll bring the kids back. Otherwise, who knows if one night you'll just stab us both with a knife! If you refuse to throw it away, then we might as well get a divorce!" 0

Second Uncle chuckled and said, "Your wife is being wise; she's avoiding a potential family tragedy." 0

Teacher Qin looked at him helplessly and continued after a moment. 0

After his wife and child left, Teacher Qin spent all day alone at home, too scared to go anywhere. What if he went out and his mind wandered again, getting hit by a car? But in reality, even staying at home wasn't safe. One night, he woke up and opened his eyes only to be nearly scared to death. 0

He found himself standing in front of the kitchen gas stove with the ignition switch already turned on, gas hissing out. Although gas is non-toxic, if a spark ignited at that moment, it would immediately lead to a fire. 0

On another occasion, while he was asleep, he suddenly felt very cold. He intended to pull the blanket tighter but when he reached out, he touched the windowsill instead. When he opened his eyes and saw where his feet were positioned, he was terrified; his foot was almost on the windowsill as if he were about to jump down. 0

These incidents made Teacher Qin afraid to sleep at all. In the three days before we arrived, he nearly resorted to extreme measures out of desperation. He intended to call Hong Konger, only to find that the number had become disconnected. 0

He instinctively sensed something was wrong. After thinking for a long time, he finally decided to call Second Uncle with a "last resort" mentality. 0

After some thought, Second Uncle told him: "Actually, whether it's Authentic or an evil talisman, if you just want to live your life peacefully, there’s no difference between them; they won't cause any backlash. There are so many people wearing evil talismans who end up meeting untimely deaths because they are too greedy. I said so much before because I was worried you wouldn't be able to control your desires; after all, once someone gets a piece of bread, they want a glass of milk too. If we don't clarify things, problems are bound to arise." 0

According to Second Uncle, Teacher Qin wanting to identify and punish the villain wasn’t an overly greedy request. Moreover, even if this talisman were evil, it wouldn’t start causing backlash before any demands were met; besides, Teacher Qin's offerings had never gone wrong. 0

Thus, the problem must lie with this talisman itself. Second Uncle picked up the Amulet again and examined it carefully from all angles. After studying it for a while, he asked Teacher Qin for scissors or pliers. Teacher Qin felt awkward and said that in order to prevent accidents, he had thrown away all sharp objects in the house. 0

Second Uncle shook his head and sent me downstairs to buy scissors. Then he used the scissors to cut open the edges of the Amulet, carefully prying it open in several places. Once he lifted the surface image of Buddha, what lay beneath immediately revealed cut-up pieces of paper. Both I and Teacher Qin saw that on one side of the paper were strange Spells drawn in red ink while on the other side were several strands of hair glued down. 0

Second Uncle seemed to understand something. He turned the paper over and carefully examined the Spell. After a while, he let out a gentle sigh and placed everything on the table. Teacher Qin had been watching his actions closely and, seeing that Second Uncle had stopped moving, quickly asked, "What’s going on? Did you figure something out?" 0

Second Uncle nodded and asked him, "Who did you contact regarding that Hong Konger?" 0

Teacher Qin replied, "It was a Good Friend of mine." 0

"Good Friend?" Second Uncle said with a half-smile, "Your friend seems quite good; it looks like your judgment is really not bad." 0

Teacher Qin, not being foolish, could naturally pick up on Second Uncle's insinuation and asked what was really going on. Second Uncle explained, "This Spell is a form of Cuban voodoo, which belongs to a type of hex. And the hair below, if I’m not mistaken, should belong to you. That Hong Konger placed your hair under the voodoo Spell, which means you are being controlled by it. That’s why you’ve been having such bad luck, which in turn affects your mental state." 0

Teacher Qin widened his eyes in disbelief. I also had my doubts as I stared at the Spell. Just a piece of paper—could it really be that magical? 0

Second Uncle continued, "However, you wore my Amulet before; that is truly Authentic, and its protective energy still exists, which is why it helped shield you for a few days. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have lasted until I arrived; you would have been dead long ago." 0

"Impossible!" Teacher Qin suddenly stood up, somewhat angrily saying, "He and I are classmates and good friends; we’ve known each other for decades. How could he possibly want to harm me!" 0

Second Uncle said, "I’m not Sherlock Holmes; I don’t understand what constitutes a motive for committing a crime. But as it stands now, this is indeed the situation—believe it or not. Your problem has been resolved; if there’s nothing else, you can pay the Reward now." 0

Teacher Qin didn’t respond. He stared at Second Uncle for a moment before lowering his head to look at the spell paper with hair stuck to it. He had been watching closely during the process of unwrapping the Amulet, so there was no way we could have tampered with it. This indicated that Second Uncle’s words were likely true; otherwise, how could one explain this matter? 0

But after decades of friendship, he simply couldn’t fathom why that Good Friend would want to harm him. 0

At that moment, Teacher Qin suddenly asked, "Is there any way for me to confirm whether this is true or false? I’m willing to pay—any amount!" 0

Second Uncle thought for a moment and said, "I need to ask Ajan Master. They might have a way." 0

Teacher Qin didn’t say anything more. He took a business card from Second Uncle, then handed over five thousand dollars. Second Uncle accepted it without hesitation and said he would contact him once he found out more. Afterward, we left the room and got into the car. I looked at Second Uncle with envy and said, "That five thousand dollars was earned so easily; it was almost instantaneous." 0

Second Uncle snorted and said, "Compared to his life, five thousand dollars is already very cheap. For bookworms like him, it's too difficult to earn their money." 0

We found a place nearby to eat, and Second Uncle called Thailand to ask a familiar Ajan Master for advice. After a while, he hung up the phone. I couldn't understand Thai, so I had to ask him how it went. Second Uncle was wolfing down Duck Blood Vermicelli Soup and said, "Ajan Master will send me a packet of Mind Control Powder. I'll find a time to have someone drink it, and they'll definitely say whatever you ask." 0

"Why does that sound like a Sedative?" I asked. 0

Second Uncle paused his actions, suddenly his eyes lit up. He slapped my shoulder and laughed, "You clever kid! How did I not think of that!" 0

I felt confused; what was he talking about? What did I say? 0

After finishing the meal, Second Uncle booked a hotel room and told me to watch TV inside while he went out alone for who knows what. He didn't return until early morning, reeking of alcohol and heavy perfume. I was curious and asked him what he had been doing all day, why he went drinking without inviting me. 0

Second Uncle smiled as he pulled out a small bag from his pocket containing a light yellow powder and asked me to guess what it was. 0

I thought for a moment and said, "Amoxicillin?" 0

Second Uncle laughed and slapped me lightly, saying, "This is a Psychedelic Drug I got from the bar's little bouncer. Take it, and you'll definitely say whatever you’re asked." 0

I replied, "That sounds oddly familiar." 0

Second Uncle burst into laughter and said to wait for tomorrow; he would take me to make some easy money. I was completely baffled but decided to go to sleep. The next morning, Second Uncle woke me up and took me directly to Teacher Qin's house. After knocking on the door, he handed Teacher Qin the Psychedelic Drug he showed me last night and told him it was Special Effect Powder sent by the Thai Ajarn Master that could make people disoriented; even the Thai authorities use it for interrogating criminals. 0

While Second Uncle was spouting this serious nonsense, Teacher Qin seemed thrilled. He immediately pulled out three thousand yuan and claimed that if it turned out to be real, there might be ways to trouble Second Uncle further. As long as there was money to be made, Second Uncle said he wasn't afraid of any trouble at all. 0
