Sitting in the car, Fu Weiheng started the engine, and a clear violin melody surged forth with the sound of ignition, instantly breaking the silence inside the vehicle.
Su Wan fastened her seatbelt and glanced sideways to see Fu Weiheng with a dark expression, silently pulling on his seatbelt. His pursed lips and expressionless face made Su Wan feel a surge of amusement, finding him extremely cute. She softly asked, "What's wrong?"
Fu Weiheng buckled his seatbelt, gave her a faint glance, and placed his hand on the steering wheel. "Sit tight."
As soon as he finished speaking, a pleasant fragrance wafted toward him. In the next moment, Su Wan lightly kissed his lips with a soft "pop."
Fu Weiheng's hand on the steering wheel trembled slightly as he turned to look at her. Su Wan was smiling brightly, her dimples deepening, and her eyes sparkling like clear water. She said, "I'm fine, don't be angry, Neil."
Fu Weiheng's heart softened instantly. He reached out to wrap his arm around her neck and gently pressed his lips against her forehead, his voice warm. "Where do you want to go?"
Su Wan took out her phone, opened an app, and held it up in front of him with a smile. "How about we go watch a movie?"
He ruffled her hair and returned his hand to the steering wheel. "Okay."
The car merged into traffic. Since it was the weekend, the road was somewhat congested. Fu Weiheng drove slowly while Su Wan partially rolled down the window, resting her head on her hand as she occasionally gazed at the street scenery and admired the handsome driver.
Her phone buzzed twice in her pocket. Su Wan took it out to check; it was a WeChat message from Fu Weijin. She glanced at the person driving before opening the message.
Jin: Guan Guan, I've already had Ivan prepare a private room for you at Magic Restaurant. To ensure you have a pleasant birthday dinner, I specifically arranged for some decorations.
Jin: [Image]
Su Wan looked at the carefully arranged restaurant in the picture and felt her mood lift as she smiled broadly.
Swan: Thank you, Wei Jin. [Kiss]
Jin: I'll go pick up the cake and put it in the restaurant later. You all enjoy yourselves tonight. [Evil smile] I won't be joining, but I suspect Neil has probably forgotten that today is his birthday.
Jin: He has never been very attentive to these things. In previous years, he was always busy with work and preparing for performances, so he hardly celebrated at all. This year, with you around, he can finally have a proper birthday. Guan Guan, you’ve put in a lot of thought.
Su Wan thoughtfully read Fu Weijin's message, replied briefly, and then exited the interface to check her social media.
When she looked up from her phone again, the car had already entered the cinema parking lot. Su Wan put away her phone, leaned slightly to grab the coat from the back seat, and after the car came to a stop, she put on the coat and got out.
Fu Weiheng unlocked the car and, upon seeing Su Wan standing in front of the car, realized that she seemed to have dressed up intentionally today. She wore a dress with light makeup and even high heels for the first time, looking extremely charming. Seeing her like this brightened Fu Weiheng's previously gloomy mood. He stepped forward, took her hand, and walked toward the cinema, asking, “What made you suddenly want to watch a movie?”
Su Wan pondered for a moment: “Well, didn’t I owe you a date last time? Today I’m making it up to you.”
“Hmm, Guan Guan.” He gently stroked her smooth hair and looked at her with soft eyes. “You look beautiful today.”
Su Wan was taken aback; her ears began to heat up as blood rushed to her palms, causing a few beads of sweat to form uncontrollably. She shyly lowered her head and softly said, “...Thank you.”
After picking up tickets and buying some snacks at the cinema, it was almost time for the show to start. The two stood side by side in line to check tickets. Such a handsome couple naturally attracted the attention of those around them.
Su Wan noticed the admiring glances from nearby girls and felt a bit uncomfortable. She sighed softly to Fu Weiheng: “Mr. Fu really is endlessly charming.”
Fu Weiheng glanced at her lightly and retorted with a smirk: “Compared to my lady, I feel quite inferior.”
Su Wan: "..."
After the movie ended, there was still some time before dinner, so Su Wan dragged Fu Weiheng to the arcade downstairs. Fu Weiheng had never been to such a place, partly because he was too busy with work and partly because when he did have free time, he would only practice piano and rarely go out.
Su Wan was different. Back in high school at Yishi, Qin Yan often took her to the arcade near his aunt's house. Qin Yan loved playing basketball and coin-pusher machines. Every time they went there, he would give Su Wan ten coins to play the claw machine while he spent the entire afternoon squatting in front of the coin-pusher.
Regarding the secrets of the claw machine, Su Wan was too young back then to understand, so she had never managed to grab a single toy from it. One time, after spending ten coins without catching anything, she reluctantly dragged Qin Yan along.
Brother Qin tossed a game coin in his hand, grinning smugly as he said, "Wait here, brother will wipe out these little things for you."
So, Su Wan silently watched him spend all the coins in the basket without managing to grab a single toy.
In the end, Brother Qin kicked the claw machine in frustration and angrily exclaimed, "Damn it, I'm done! What a piece of junk!"
When he turned around, he saw Su Wan staring at him with a meaningful look. Qin Yan felt a chill run down his spine under her gaze and awkwardly scratched his nose, saying, "Hehe, your brother's hands are meant for judo competitions; how could they be used to catch this kind of thing?"
As he spoke, he pulled Su Wan out of the arcade. Once they were on the small electric scooter and Qin Yan started it up, he inadvertently heard her muttering softly behind him, "Can't even handle a claw machine; what judo competition are you talking about..."
Qin Yan: "..."
