Due to the delay caused by Cheng Tianhong, when Cheng Qiuyi returned with Cheng Boming, it was already early morning. Yan Cailing and A-Zhi had left earlier, leaving only the baby asleep in the crib. 0

Liu Shuhan leaned over the crib to look at the baby, growing more delighted with each glance. The infant, just a few months old, had a round, chubby face, long and curled eyelashes, and occasionally smacked its little lips in its dreams, resembling a small angel that had descended into the world. 0

"Shu Han? Why are you still awake?" Cheng Qiuyi asked as she entered. 0

Liu Shuhan raised her index finger to her lips in a gesture to be quiet and glanced up at Cheng Qiuyi with curiosity upon noticing Cheng Boming behind her. 0

Cheng Qiuyi mimicked Liu Shuhan's posture and squatted beside the crib, whispering close to her ear, "It got too late today, so I brought him back first." 0

Liu Shuhan looked weary, having yawned three times in just a short while. Cheng Qiuyi felt sorry for her and pulled her up. "Don't look anymore; this little rascal will be staying at our place for another week. You have plenty of time to watch him. Go get some sleep first." 0

Liu Shuhan had been waiting for Cheng Qiuyi, and now that she was back, she stretched and yawned as she headed back to her room, not forgetting to remind them, "You haven't had dinner yet, right? I made some porridge in the pot; eat a bit first. I'll cook something delicious for you tomorrow." 0

Cheng Boming curiously examined the sleeping Song Luyao in the crib and couldn't help but reach out to pinch the baby's cheek. Cheng Qiuyi swatted his hand away. "What are you doing?" 0

"I... I..." Cheng Boming stammered while covering his hand. He then asked, "Master, whose child is this?" 0

"Don't ask what you shouldn't. Go wash up and get some sleep; I'll take you to school tomorrow morning." 0

Cheng Qiuyi remembered something and turned back to remind him: "From now on, wake up at six every morning and practice horse stance for two hours each morning and evening. Got it?" 0

"Yes, Master." Cheng Boming dared not express his displeasure about waking up at six every day and obediently agreed. 0

Once Cheng Qiuyi returned to her room, Cheng Boming finally relaxed. He knelt by the crib to observe Song Luyao and poked her round face with his finger. "If Sister Shuhan treats me as well as she treats you, I would be completely satisfied." He sighed dramatically after saying this, sounding rather pretentious. 0

Cheng Qiuyi tried to get into bed quietly but still woke Liu Shuhan. Liu Shuhan turned over to face Cheng Qiuyi and rubbed her eyes. "Where did Cheng Boming go today?" 0

Cheng Qiuyi pulled Liu Shuhan into her arms, reached out to turn off the bedside lamp, and gently stroked her hair, saying, "You went to see his dad, now sleep. I'll tell you more about it tomorrow." 0

Her voice was soft and soothing. Liu Shuhan clutched Cheng Qiuyi's clothing and fell asleep peacefully, murmuring, "Qiu Yi, I don't like him." 0

Although Cheng Boming was innocent, his parents had hurt Cheng Qiuyi deeply, making it hard for Liu Shuhan to feel any affection for such a young child. 0

"You don't have to like him; just like me," Cheng Qiuyi said, kissing the top of Liu Shuhan's head before closing her eyes. 0

At three in the morning, the entire city was peacefully asleep when a loud wailing cry woke up Cheng Qiuyi and Liu Shuhan. 0

The sharp cries from the living room were piercing. Cheng Qiuyi, being a light sleeper, jumped out of bed. Liu Shuhan was startled awake and asked Cheng Qiuyi in confusion, "What happened?" 0

"Yao Yao is crying; it must be that little brat Cheng Boming causing trouble," Cheng Qiuyi said as she threw on a coat and headed out. "You stay here and sleep; I'll go check." 0

Hearing Yao Yao cry so intensely, Liu Shuhan couldn't focus on sleeping either. She quickly put on some clothes and followed Cheng Qiuyi out. 0

The living room was pitch black. In the darkness, Cheng Boming stood helplessly next to Song Luyao's crib while Song Luyao cried uncontrollably. 0

Liu Shuhan turned on the bright lights. Cheng Qiuyi immediately slapped Cheng Boming across the face. "It's the middle of the night! Why are you bothering her?" 0

"I... I didn't!" Cheng Boming protested angrily while covering his face. "I got up to see what was wrong because she was keeping me awake. Cheng Qiuyi, don't randomly accuse good people!" 0

"Accuse? Fine! Then tell me why this tiny child is crying if you didn't upset her?" 0

"How would I know!" Cheng Boming felt wronged and started crying along with the baby. "If she wants to cry, let her cry! How would I know! Cheng Qiuyi, you're bullying me! Sister Shuhan, Cheng Qiuyi is bullying me..." 0

The cries of both children echoed continuously. Liu Shuhan was also annoyed by the noise; she couldn't care less about Cheng Boming for now and went to check on Song Luyao. She compared each item on the long list given by Yan Cailing, changed the baby's diaper, wiped her down, and fed her. The baby remained ungrateful and continued to cry loudly. With no other option, Liu Shuhan had to hold her in her arms and walk back and forth in the living room to soothe her. "Don't cry, baby; Mommy is here. No crying now..." 0

Cheng Qiuyi scolded Cheng Boming in a low voice, "Shut up! If you keep crying, I'll throw you out." 0

Cheng Boming pouted and gasped, stopping his cries while timidly explaining, "Master, it was her... she cried by herself... really not me..." 0

Cheng Qiuyi frowned, pinching the bridge of her nose. If it were Cheng Boming causing the fuss, she could just catch him and give him a good beating. But this little ancestor, who couldn't even speak properly, was untouchable and unscoldable; she couldn't even say harsh words to him. 0

Song Luyao's cries gradually subsided as Cheng Qiuyi took her from Liu Shuhan's arms. "Shu Han, you should go to sleep now. I'll watch over her tonight." 0

"What about you?" 0

"I don't have much to do during the day; I can catch up on sleep then. Go on, get some rest. You have work tomorrow." 0

"No way! You still have to take Cheng Boming to school tomorrow. Driving while tired is dangerous." 0

Cheng Qiuyi pushed Liu Shuhan into the room. "Can't I just ask for a leave for him? Missing one day of school won't kill him. Hurry up and sleep; be obedient." 0

Less than a minute later, the baby started crying again in Cheng Qiuyi's arms. This time, the cries were even sharper than before, almost breaking her voice. No matter how Cheng Qiuyi tried to soothe her, it was useless. Liu Shuhan quickly took over and managed to calm the baby down in less than two minutes. 0

"…" 0

Cheng Qiuyi really couldn't help but want to smack this troublesome little thing. How could Liu Shuhan have such a good rapport with children? One Cheng Boming was already enough; even a three-month-old baby couldn't stay away from her. 0

Liu Shuhan held Song Luyao with a wry smile and said to Cheng Qiuyi, "It seems the baby only wants me to hold her. You should go to sleep." 0

Cheng Qiuyi shook her head. "I'll stay with you." 0

This time, Liu Shuhan didn't refuse and smiled, "Alright." 0

Cheng Boming was sleeping on the sofa in the living room, so they didn't want to disturb him and simply went to the balcony instead. Fortunately, it was early winter, and even though the balcony was filled with plants, there weren't many bugs. 0

The weather had been nice yesterday, and the moon was full that night. Cheng Qiuyi leaned back in the lounge chair and pulled Liu Shuhan into her arms to lie down together. 0

The chair was spacious enough that two people lying together wouldn't feel cramped. Liu Shuhan quietly scolded, "Be careful, don't wake this little ancestor again." 0

Cheng Qiuyi found it amusing and tapped Liu Shuhan on the head, "You were so fond of her during the day, and now you know she's an ancestor?" 0

Liu Shuhan sighed, "It's not easy bringing such a small thing into adulthood. Being a mom is really tough. I wonder if I was as noisy as this when I was little." 0

"Then you should be more filial to her in the future. I'll be filial with you." 0

Liu Shuhan gently patted the baby's back, looking troubled. "Cheng Qiuyi, if only I were a man, I could marry you openly without all this hassle." 0

Cheng Qiuyi chuckled, "Don't forget I like women. If you were a man, I wouldn't like you at all." 0

"What did you say?" Liu Shuhan glared at her. 0

"I was wrong, I was wrong." Cheng Qiuyi leaned close to Liu Shuhan's neck and laughed, "I like you no matter what you look like, even if you turned into a little cat or dog." 0

"You’re the little dog." 0

Cheng Qiuyi gently rocked the recliner and whispered near Liu Shuhan's ear, "Shu Han, you hold the baby, and I'll hold you." 0

Then she noticed the blush rising at Liu Shuhan's ears. 0

Cheng Qiuyi stifled a laugh; after being together for so long, Liu Shuhan still got shy. 0

The recliner kept rocking as Liu Shuhan held the baby and leaned against Cheng Qiuyi's chest, falling asleep. Cheng Qiuyi supported her throughout the night. 0

At six in the morning, there was a slight noise in the living room. Cheng Qiuyi looked over and saw Cheng Boming already up, having finished washing up and practicing his horse stance in the living room. 0

He didn't seem to know where he learned this stance from; his butt was sticking up high, his knees uneven, and his arms were limp with no strength at all—completely useless. 0

Cheng Qiuyi glanced at the clock on the wall. Although this chubby boy was not particularly gifted, he was diligent. 0

Liu Shuhan had tossed and turned until four in the morning last night. Seeing that it was already past eight and she still hadn't woken up, Cheng Qiuyi raised his hand to beckon Cheng Boming over. 0

Cheng Boming ran over eagerly, "Master, good morning." 0

Cheng Qiuyi gestured with his lips, "Pick up the little one in your master's arms." 0

"Ah?" Cheng Boming took two steps back, "No way, I can't do it. She'll cry..." After saying that, he touched his cheek where he had been slapped earlier, still feeling a bit apprehensive. 0

"Stop talking nonsense and hurry up. Be careful." 0

Cheng Boming picked up Song Luyao and prayed in his heart, "Oh ancestors, I'm being forced into this. Please don't cry, I beg you." 0

Perhaps Song Luyao was sleeping soundly; this time she really didn't cry. 0

Cheng Qiuyi also carefully picked up Liu Shuhan and placed her on the bed. 0

Just one night of this commotion was enough; if it happened every night, not to mention Liu Shuhan, even Cheng Qiuyi wouldn't be able to handle it. 0
