"How do you plan to entertain them?" Chen Shuying asked.
"If there aren't too many, I can try to cook, but if there are too many, I'm afraid I won't be able to handle it," Zhang Xiaoxiao frowned and replied.
"I know that, so I plan to go to town to buy some ingredients. You just need to help me cook," Chen Shuying said.
"That's fine, but you have to give me a little extra for my labor," Zhang Xiaoxiao said with a smile.

"You two are a perfect match; you're simply made for each other," Chen Shuying said.
"Sister-in-law, don't say that; I'm getting embarrassed," Zhang Xiaoxiao shyly replied.
"Hahaha, what do you have to be shy about? You're so beautiful, and Guangcai is so handsome; if you two aren't a match, who is?" Chen Shuying laughed.
"Sister-in-law, if you keep complimenting me, I'll really be embarrassed," Zhang Xiaoxiao said with a flushed face.
"Alright, I won't say anymore. You two chat slowly; I need to get busy first," Chen Shuying said with a smile.
"Sister-in-law, go ahead and get busy," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied.
After Chen Shuying left, Zhao Guangcai asked, "What were you two talking about just now?"
"We were talking about how good you are to me," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"That's a given," Zhao Guangcai said proudly.
"Hmph, you're just showing off," Zhang Xiaoxiao teased.
"Isn't that right?" Zhao Guangcai retorted.
"Yes, yes, yes, my good husband," Zhang Xiaoxiao said helplessly.
"That's more like it," Zhao Guangcai said smugly.
"Alright, help me up quickly; we should head home now," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Okay." Hearing this, Zhao Guangcai immediately helped Zhang Xiaoxiao stand up.
Once they got home, they began to get busy.
" Xiaoxiao, since Sister Chen has to entertain so many people, the two of you definitely can't handle it alone; do you want me to help?" Zhao Guangcai asked.
"We can handle it ourselves," Zhang Xiaoxiao said confidently.
"Just be careful and don't overwork yourself," Zhao Guangcai replied with concern.
"Yes, I will," Zhang Xiaoxiao responded.
"I'm going to the mountain to see if I can hunt some game to bring back for dinner," Zhao Guangcai said.
"Okay, be careful," Zhang Xiaoxiao reminded him.
"I know," Zhao Guangcai acknowledged, then left with his bow and arrows.
After Zhao Guangcai left, Zhang Xiaoxiao began to get busy.
First, she soaked the rice, then went to the vegetable garden to pick some greens and washed them clean.
Once everything was ready, she sat in the yard waiting for Chen Shuying's arrival.
Half an hour later, Chen Shuying hurried over.
" Xiaoxiao, I need to go to town to order some vegetables. Do you want to come with me?" Chen Shuying asked.
"Sure," Zhang Xiaoxiao agreed eagerly.
"Then let's hurry up; we won't have time if we delay," Chen Shuying urged.
"Okay," Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded and took the soaked rice to rinse it.
"Where's Guangcai?" Chen Shuying scanned the yard but didn't see Zhao Guangcai, so she asked.
"He went to the mountain," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied.
"Oh, then we need to find a bullock cart," Chen Shuying said.
"Sister-in-law, you go ahead; I still need to wash the dishes," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Alright, I'll go first," Chen Shuying said before leaving.
After Chen Shuying left, Zhang Xiaoxiao quickened her pace.
She rinsed the rice clean and poured it into a pot, then added an appropriate amount of water to start cooking it.
When the rice was done, Chen Shuying returned with the bullock cart.
" Xiaoxiao, has Guangcai come back?" Chen Shuying jumped down from the cart and asked.
"Not yet," Zhang Xiaoxiao shook her head.
"Can you watch Xiao Liang for me? I want to go order vegetables in town," Chen Shuying requested.
"Um..." Zhang Xiaoxiao hesitated a bit.
" Xiaoxiao, don't worry; I won't let you help for free; I'll pay you," Chen Shuying assured her.
"Sister-in-law, that's not what I meant; I'm just afraid I won't do a good job," Zhang Xiaoxiao quickly explained.
"It's okay; I believe in you," Chen Shuying encouraged her.
"Well... alright then," Zhang Xiaoxiao reluctantly agreed.
"Thank you, Xiaoxiao," Chen Shuying expressed her gratitude.
"No need to be polite," Zhang Xiaoxiao replied.
"I'm going to find Guangcai now; wait here for me," Chen Shuying said.
"Okay," Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded.
After Chen Shuying left, Zhang Xiaoxiao began preparing the ingredients.
She heated the pot and added oil, then put in ginger and garlic to sauté until fragrant. After stirring evenly, she added bean paste and continued to cook, finally pouring in a basin of water to start making soup. Once the soup boiled, she added a handful of vermicelli to continue simmering.
While the vermicelli was cooking, Chen Shuying and Zhao Guangcai returned to the courtyard together.
"Sister-in-law, you're back," Zhang Xiaoxiao greeted.
"Yes, Guangcai is back too," Chen Shuying replied with a smile.
" Xiaoxiao, I need to go to town to sell mushrooms, so I might not be able to help you look after Xiao Liang," Zhao Guangcai said apologetically.
"It's okay, sister-in-law has already made arrangements," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"That's good," Zhao Guangcai sighed in relief.
"Guangcai, hurry up and go sell the mushrooms, don't delay," Chen Shuying urged.
"Alright, I'll head out now," Zhao Guangcai said.
"Be careful on the way," Zhang Xiaoxiao reminded.
"I know," Zhao Guangcai replied and then left with his basket on his back.
" Xiaoxiao, let's go too," Chen Shuying said.
"Okay," Zhang Xiaoxiao nodded, then extinguished the fire in the stove and got onto the ox cart with Chen Shuying.
" Xiaoxiao, hold on tight," Chen Shuying called out.
"Alright," Zhang Xiaoxiao responded and grabbed the edge of the cart.
The ox cart swayed as it moved forward, causing Zhang Xiaoxiao to wobble around. She couldn't help but frown and said, "This ox cart is really bumpy."
"Yeah, but you'll get used to it," Chen Shuying replied.
"I still prefer riding a bicycle," Zhang Xiaoxiao said.
"Bicycle? You mean that four-wheeled vehicle in the city?" Chen Shuying asked curiously.
"No, it's two-wheeled," Zhang Xiaoxiao explained.
