The woman looked at Fei Hu with a face full of fear, her meaning clear: should the door be opened or not? Fei Hu hurriedly stepped back behind the clothes rack and pulled a few garments to shield himself.
Seeing that everything was in order with Fei Hu, the woman finally opened the door. A few young men with yellow hair squeezed in at the entrance, their eyes scanning the room. The woman, slightly annoyed, shouted, "What are you doing? There's nothing to see here."
The leader of the young men glanced at the name tag on the woman's chest and chuckled, "Oh! It's Miss Sun Li, the Head Nurse. My apologies. We're looking for a young man covered in blood. Have you seen him?"
"You're mistaken; this is the women's changing room. How could there be a man here?" Sun Li replied, her expression displeased.
The young man looked at Sun Li with a smirk and said, "It’s best if there isn’t one. If we find out you’re hiding him, you won’t be able to stay here either. Remember, don’t call the police; whoever does is finished." With that, he waved his hand and left with the others.
"What a bunch of arrogant fools, acting like gangsters," Sun Li said angrily as she slammed the door shut.
Only then did Fei Hu step out from behind the clothes rack, smiling broadly as he said to Sun Li, "Thank you, Miss Sun."
"Don't rush to thank me; explain what’s going on. If you can't make it clear, I’ll still call the police," Sun Li said coldly as she looked at Fei Hu.
Fei Hu quickly retracted his somewhat greedy gaze and detailed his encounter from that afternoon to Sun Li. After listening, she looked at him skeptically but there was a hint of joy in her expression.
"Hmph! You look like a wild man; I didn’t expect you to have such compassion. It’s quite rare these days—being kind doesn’t always bring good fortune. You can’t afford to mess with those people; it’s best to run away. Unless it’s absolutely necessary, don’t call the police," Sun Li said, finally showing a slight smile.
"A wild man! How do I look like a wild man?" Fei Hu felt unwilling at being called that by such a beautiful woman. However, when he saw Sun Li's charming smile, he couldn't help but feel an indescribable joy in his heart.
It’s best not to call the police. What does this mean? Could these people really be that terrifying? This is a society governed by law, and Fei Hu felt somewhat perplexed.
Suddenly, there was a series of urgent knocks on the door, accompanied by shouts of "Open the door, hurry up!"
The atmosphere in the room, which had just calmed down, became tense again. Sun Li's expression changed dramatically as she nervously grabbed the medical tweezers from the table. Fei Hu paused for a moment; he knew it was no longer safe here. If he insisted on staying and got discovered by these people, not only would he be unable to escape, but he would also endanger Sun Li. However, aside from the door, there was only the window in this room.
The window—yes, escape through the window. They were on the third floor, not too high off the ground. Fei Hu thought of this and quickly ran to the window. He pulled open the glass pane and was relieved to find that there were no security bars outside, likely due to being on the third floor. Looking down, he saw a row of grapevines supported by concrete pillars right below the window. Fei Hu couldn't help but feel overjoyed. He turned back and waved at Sun Li before climbing out of the window.
He first hung onto the edge of the window with his hands. With a height of over 1.7 meters and long arms, his feet were not far from the grapevines below. Letting go gently, his feet touched the wall lightly, and his body fell gracefully onto the grapevine like a swallow. After running a few steps along the vine, Fei Hu realized he had reached the back wall of the hospital. He bent down and leaped onto a large tree beside the yard, jumping down from a branch that extended outside. He was now outside the hospital.
At that moment, several blond men rushed into the changing room, searching frantically everywhere. Fortunately, Fei Hu had run fast enough. Sun Li stood by the window, astonished by Fei Hu's earlier actions. Could he really be a wild man who had come out of Great Forest? Jumping and leaping up trees in one go—how many people could do that? Such feats could only be seen in movies. Suddenly, Sun Li recalled how Fei Hu had pressed his gun against her stomach earlier and felt her face slowly flush red.
Fei Hu suddenly jumped down from the tree branch, startling several passersby. One of them remarked, "It seems like there's been a major incident at the hospital today; all around the entrance and up to the stairs are blond men guarding it as if they are trying to catch someone."
Upon hearing this, Fei Hu couldn't help but stick out his tongue in relief; fortunately, he had escaped over the wall. If he had gone through the front door, it would have been strange if he hadn't been caught. Looking at his blood-stained white shirt, he felt reluctant but took it off and tossed it into a trash can. Wearing such clothes on the street would make people think he was a murderer.
By five o'clock, Fei Hu finally walked back to his simple rental room. It was indeed simple—just a bed, a mat, and a thin low-quality blanket; everything else was just him. Earlier at a small shop near his door, he bought a box of instant noodles to eat; now his stomach felt slightly better. Lying on his bed and reflecting on what had happened today left him utterly confused about who that old man really was. He had given him nothing more than a pill the size of a soybean; why did it attract so many people trying to kill him?
With white hair yet youthful features and dressed nobly, this old man was certainly not an ordinary elder. Fei Hu couldn't help but think back to his elderly grandfather and his somewhat desolate childhood.
His grandfather was an old military martial arts instructor who had retreated deep into the mountains. From what he remembered, his grandfather took him hunting in Deep Mountains and Old Forests to make him strong and knowledgeable. Since Fei Hu was two years old, his grandfather had given him five poisons to consume while teaching him martial arts and poetry. By ten years old, Fei Hu could already capture giant pythons alone and eat their hearts and lungs while climbing trees in the forest with ease.
At twelve years old, when his grandfather realized that his skills were insufficient for what his grandson needed, he brought him out of Deep Mountains and Old Forests so that Fei Hu could attend school. When they entered town at that time, his grandfather said that Fei Hu was an orphan; thus he named him directly as Fei Hu with hopes that his grandson would grow up like a tiger with wings—never bullied by others in this world.
At the age of twelve, Fei Hu, who was able to attend elementary school, had already grown to the size of a fifteen or sixteen-year-old young man. Despite the pressure of being ridiculed by others, Fei Hu managed to finish high school at the age of twenty-three. With the help of the government, Fei Hu found a temporary job at a state-owned enterprise. He was unafraid of power and stood for justice, but after accidentally injuring a police officer during a fight, he fled overnight to the international metropolis of City A.
After much effort, he secured a job as a security guard at a nightclub called Night Rose. Although the job was boring, it was exciting to see so many beautiful women passing by every day. Moreover, the women here were dressed fashionably and behaved confidently, which made his heart race. Working the night shift definitely kept him awake.
Sigh! Fei Hu lamented that despite the abundance of beautiful women, they were all taken away by wealthy men. He could only admire them from afar, lying in bed dreaming about them. He didn't even have the chance to touch one, let alone hold one close for a kiss. But today, fate seemed to smile upon him as Sun Li, such a beautiful woman, ran into his arms completely naked. Just thinking about it made Fei Hu sit up excitedly; her tall figure and slender waist felt incredible in his embrace.
As night fell, Fei Hu walked towards Night Rose. At this moment, City A resembled a noble lady dressed in an evening gown—charming and seductive, exclusive to the wealthy.
In the security room of Night Rose, several guards preparing for their shift were chatting loudly. This group was notorious for bragging about touching some woman's backside or complaining about noise from next door; they were always thinking about something lewd.
Since Fei Hu hadn’t rested well today, he changed into his security uniform and sat alone in a corner with his eyes closed, imagining Sun Li's stunning figure. How he wished he could have such a beautiful girlfriend.
"You’re daydreaming again; you’re really useless," Wang Xiaoyi came over and patted Fei Hu on the shoulder.
This guy was known as the notorious flirt in the security team; he couldn’t take his eyes off women and had countless romantic stories to share during night shifts. He wasn’t bad-hearted but loved making inappropriate jokes that sometimes were hard to accept.
"Haha! Brother Wang, do you have another new story to tell me?" Fei Hu opened his eyes and smiled at this older brother from Sichuan.
Wang Xiaoyi blinked his small eyes and leaned closer to Fei Hu's ear, saying, "Brother, I usually don’t tell this to just anyone; it depends on whether you have the guts. Tonight will definitely be an eye-opener."
Upon hearing this, Fei Hu perked up instantly; young people loved this kind of excitement.
