B City High School 11th Grade Class Two Corridor
Jian Chen was about to go pour water with a water bottle in hand when Xing Hao called out to him from behind.
"Wait a minute, Jian Chen," Xing Hao shouted. Jian Chen stopped and watched as Xing Hao ran over. "What's up again? Why the rush?" Jian Chen asked. "What, I can't look for you if there's nothing urgent?" Xing Hao gave Jian Chen a look. "Alright, alright, go ahead," Jian Chen shook his head helplessly.
Xing Hao suddenly became serious, "Have you decided which university you want to apply to?"
Jian Chen was puzzled, not sure why Xing Hao was asking this question. "Why do you ask?"
"Just curious, considering how hard you've been studying lately," Xing Hao replied.
Jian Chen smiled, "University A."
Xing Hao looked at Jian Chen and said, "Oh, getting ready to be married."
Jian Chen didn't say much, just gave Xing Hao a look. But then she thought it over and felt it wasn't quite right, "Why are you suddenly concerned about which university I'm going to?"
"Ah, I just feel that we are good friends, so I care about you." Xing Hao said with a smile.
Jian Chen looked at Xing Hao and suddenly understood his intention, "You want to apply to the same university as me, don't you."
Xing Hao scratched his head somewhat embarrassedly, "Hehe, you caught me."
Jian Chen smiled, "Sure, as long as you pass the exam."
City A Xu Yi's home
Xu Yi was sitting at the desk sorting out his homework when suddenly Jian Chen sent a video call.
Jian Chen looked at Xu Yi without saying anything, just watching her. After waiting for a while and seeing that he still didn't speak, Xu Yi felt a little awkward and had to break the silence herself.
"What's wrong? Why aren't you talking?" Xu Yi looked at Jian Chen.
"Nothing, I just wanted to look at you," Jian Chen finally spoke.
"Oh, I see. I thought you were in a bad mood," Xu Yi laughed.
Jian Chen smiled, "No, I just think my girlfriend is too beautiful, and I got a little mesmerized."
Xu Yi blushed after hearing this, "Jian Chen, if you keep doing this, I'll hang up the video call."
Jian Chen looked at Xu Yi's shy appearance and couldn't help but smile, "Alright, alright, I won't do this next time."
Xu Yi smiled helplessly, "Do you have anything else? If not, I'll hang up."
Jian Chen quickly waved his hand, "Alright, alright, my bad, my bad. I just wanted to see you. I'll do my homework, you can just leave your phone there, I won't talk."
Xu Yi placed the phone on the table and took out a set of papers to work on. The two of them continued like this until midnight. After finishing the papers, Xu Yi found that Jian Chen had already fallen asleep with his head on the table. Xu Yi thought about ending the video call, but was afraid of waking him up, so he kept the call going until dawn.
City B Jian Chen's family
Jian Chen glanced at the alarm clock, and the hands were firmly pointing at six o'clock. He slightly sat up, stretched, and felt the satisfaction of a good night's sleep. The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere over everything.
Jian Chen picked up his phone to check the time, only to find Xu Yi's video still playing. On the screen, she was quietly resting her head on the desk, clearly still asleep. Jian Chen couldn't help but feel a warm sensation in his heart. This silly girl had actually stayed up all night in front of her phone, afraid of waking him up.
He gently pressed the end call button, feeling both touched and helpless. Jian Chen sent her a message.
Jian Chen: [I've gone to school. Next time I fall asleep, you can end the video. Don't worry about waking me up, and don't sleep with your head on the desk. You might get sick.]
After sending the message, Jian Chen tidied up a bit, put on his backpack, and went to school.
City A Xu Yi's home
At 6:30 in the morning, Xu Yi's alarm clock rang on time. She groggily turned off the alarm, rubbed her eyes, and was still a little bit sleepy. Xu Yi looked at her phone on the desk and found that Jian Chen had already replied to the message.
She opened the message, and couldn't help but smile. Jian Chen's care and thoughtfulness always made her feel warm inside. She knew that even though they were in different cities, their hearts were closely connected. Xu Yi quickly got up, washed and dressed, tidied up the bed and room. After everything was ready, she put on her backpack and went out to school.
