"Ahhhhh!" 0

A horrifying scream echoed from outside, causing Liu You'er, who was deep in sleep, to frown in displeasure. She thought to herself, "Living on the first floor is terrible; I can hear every little noise. If it weren't for watching a horror movie too late last night, I would really want to go down and give them a piece of my mind. It's so annoying." Just as she was about to turn over and continue sleeping, a girl's pleading voice followed: "Please, don't kill me, please... ahhhhh..." After that, the voice completely vanished. Liu You'er felt uneasy; she instantly woke up from her slumber. What was happening? A murder? No way... This place is less than a stop away from the city center! Who would be crazy enough to commit murder here? 0

Although she thought this way, she still slowly got out of bed, preparing to sneakily pull back the curtains to take a look. As she got closer to the window, the sounds outside became clearer—not only were there various screams, but also the sounds of heavy objects falling and something being bitten and chewed. An ominous feeling crept over Liu You'er. For some reason, her body felt unusually stiff today; it took her five steps to cover just one meter. Finally managing to grasp the edge of the curtain, she was stunned by the sight of her hand illuminated by sunlight. What kind of hand was this? It looked nothing like her usual slender and delicate hands; it was so thin it resembled dead wood. Her nails had turned completely black, sharp as daggers, glinting with a sickening sheen. At this point, Liu You'er lost all interest in what was happening outside. She hurriedly turned on the light and looked at the vanity beside her bed. The moment she saw her reflection in the mirror, she completely lost her ability to think. 0

The woman in the mirror could no longer be described as human; her skin had taken on a deathly pale hue unique to corpses. Her dry and lifeless hair hung limply on either side of her shoulders like a tangle of seaweed. Her once bright pupils had turned white, dull and lifeless; her cheeks were deeply sunken as if she hadn't eaten for days. Her teeth were black and sharp like demons crawling out of hell. Even her once proud chest now resembled two deflated balloons, causing Liu You'er—who had been considered quite pretty—to almost faint from shock. Despite her inner turmoil reaching a boiling point, her face remained expressionless. 0

"What is going on! What is happening! What..." She tugged at her hair in despair but found that all that came out was a hoarse "ugh ugh ugh" sound; she couldn't articulate any words at all. In her struggle, she accidentally pulled out a few strands of hair—though it didn't hurt at all, it still made Liu You'er tear up with distress. Of course, this difficult expression of crying could only be completed in her mind. If there were a survivor here at that moment, they would surely be terrified by her current frenzied appearance. 0

"Bang!" The sound of something crashing against the security window snapped Liu You'er back to reality. She decided to see what was happening outside. Pulling back a bit of the curtain revealed a man being pinned against the security window by another man and woman who were desperately trying to burrow into his arms, causing his body to convulse uncontrollably. The street outside was chaotic—people were running everywhere while others were chasing... people? Those unfortunate enough to be caught were immediately thrown to the ground and surrounded by other "people," who began tearing into the fallen victim's body with their mouths as if they were feasting on him. It looked like something straight out of a horror movie. 0

Then her gaze shifted back in front of her; a pair of cold white pupils were staring intently at her. The owner of those eyes had blood and bits of flesh smeared across their mouth, causing Liu You'er to freeze in fear as she thought: This is it; I'm done for! I've been discovered! But then the zombie lowered its head again and continued eating without another glance up at her. The smell of blood grew stronger and wafted through the window directly into Liu You'er's nose. Strangely enough, she didn't feel disgusted at all; instead, she found herself involuntarily inhaling deeply as her eyes slowly closed and drool began to trickle down her chin. Two thoughts raced through her mind: 0

One: I've turned into a zombie!!! Two: I really want to eat~~~~ 0

The scent of fresh blood and flesh made Liu You'er swallow hard uncontrollably until finally, when a loud "gurgle" came from her stomach, she jolted awake with a start. "Damn it! I'm human! How can I be tempted by the smell of human blood and flesh? Where's my humanity? No way!!!" Yet this strange aroma made every cell in her body tremble with desire, clamoring for her to rush out and indulge herself. After suppressing this urge for what felt like the nth time, she finally took slow steps toward the door. The sound of the door closing caught the attention of five or six zombies nearby, causing them to rush toward Liu You'er... 0
