The next morning, as Zhang Yang reached the school gate, he saw a tall girl in a short white down jacket pushing a bicycle ahead of him. It was the school beauty, Ding Weiwei. Although it was winter, Ding Weiwei was wearing tight black jeans, and her prominent figure made Zhang Yang's heart skip a beat. 0

"Ding Weiwei!" 0

Ding Weiwei turned around, her bright eyes suddenly filled with surprise. 0

Zhang Yang hurried a few steps to walk alongside her. "Your bicycle is working today." 0

"Are you still daring to talk to me?" Ding Weiwei suddenly said. 0

"Everyone has a desire for beauty. Why shouldn't I? I love talking to beautiful girls," Zhang Yang replied with a smile. 0

"I heard you got hurt. Are you really okay?" Ding Weiwei asked next, her gaze showing some concern. 0

"Isn't my injury because of you?" Zhang Yang sighed deliberately. "Don't misunderstand, I didn't know him before..." 0

Ding Weiwei bit her lip and said, "I..." 0

"I'm just joking. It's fine, don't worry," Zhang Yang said, feeling unexpectedly pleased inside. 0

"Do you often get into fights? You should avoid them; if you can't get into college, your life will be over," Ding Weiwei said seriously. 0

"Sometimes, fighting is just for self-defense," Zhang Yang suddenly sighed deeply. This statement left Ding Weiwei momentarily stunned. 0

Just then, Dayong walked over awkwardly holding a piece of paper. "Yongzi, where are you going?" Zhang Yang greeted him with a smile. 0

"Uh, Brother Feng, no, that is, Li Yifeng needs to be hospitalized. I'm helping him get a sick leave note," Dayong glanced at Ding Weiwei and lowered his head, unsure whether to continue walking forward. 0

"Okay, tell him not to bother Ding Weiwei anymore; otherwise, I'll show him some tricks," Zhang Yang said and waved his hand. 0

"Got it." Dayong quickly left as if granted a pardon. 0

Ding Weiwei's jaw nearly dropped as she looked at Zhang Yang, her beautiful almond-shaped eyes wide open. The difference between what she had heard about Zhang Yang getting beaten and the person before her was too great. However, she soon felt happy again; although Zhang Yang usually appeared like a delinquent, she always felt he was different from other delinquents. Not only did his looks make her feel comfortable, but there also seemed to be something else about him. 0

Just as she was thinking, Zhang Yang suddenly pinched her little nose and laughed heartily as he walked towards his classroom. 0

Ding Weiwei touched her nose and suddenly felt that Zhang Yang's departing figure was so carefree, a blush rising on her fair face. 0

Suddenly, Zhang Yang appeared in front of her again, leaning closer and saying, "I've helped you twice; shouldn't you treat me to a meal?" The two times he referred to were when he rode his bicycle to take Ding Weiwei home and when he helped deal with Li Yifeng's entanglement earlier. 0

"Sure, let's do it today at noon," Ding Weiwei replied readily. 0

"Noon? That's too short, too rushed. We still have classes in the afternoon," Zhang Yang said with a smile. 0

"Aren't you good at skipping classes? You can teach me how," Ding Weiwei said, then turned and walked towards the classroom. On the surface, she appeared calm, but inside her heart raced like a little deer. 0

"Damn, it turns out that the afternoon is the general physical education class for all senior classes." Zhang Yang walked into his classroom and glanced at the schedule, realizing why a good student like Ding Weiwei would want to skip class. 0

After entering senior year, they began to sprint towards the college entrance examination, and physical education class became a time for students to relax. Generally, students would gather on the playground first, and the PE teacher would lead them in some running and warm-up activities before they scattered. Usually, as long as the number of students wasn't too low, the teacher wouldn't take attendance. 0

After school at noon, Zhang Yang and Ding Weiwei walked out of the school gate. Although Wuzhong's admission rate wasn't high, it was located in a prime area of Haizhou City’s South District, with many restaurants nearby. They chose a seafood restaurant close by and went in. 0

Haizhou City is a famous coastal city with eight districts in total; however, the urban area mainly consists of four districts: South District, North District, East District, and West District. South District is largely coastal and is the most prosperous area; both the long-distance bus station and train station are in North District, which has a large flow of people; East District has mountains adjacent to the sea and is mainly a tourist area with villas; West District is the poorest, with many open communities and some shantytowns. 0

The best high schools in Haizhou City are naturally No. 1 High School and Second High School, both located in South District. Other key middle schools are mainly distributed in North District and East District. Wuzhong is also in South District but is just an average high school. West District covers a large area but only has one Sixteen High School; the rest are vocational schools and technical high schools. Therefore, many children from West District are sent to study at Wuzhong in South District. 0

"There’s sea in the south of the city, mountains in the east, convenient travel in the north, and delinquents running rampant in the west." From local sayings, it’s easy to see that West District is the most chaotic area in Haizhou City. Thus, it’s not hard to find reasons for Wuzhong's disorder. 0

Ding Weiwei enjoyed this meal very much. 0

Ding Weiwei excelled academically and ranked among the top students in her key class. As for Zhang Yang, his grades were quite unstable; at best, he managed to be average in class. Thinking about this made Ding Weiwei ask: 0

"Zhang Yang, have you ever thought about going to college?" 0

"Not before, but now I do," Zhang Yang answered seriously. 0

"Why?" 0

"I've lived in this small place for too long; I need a broader world." Zhang Yang seemed lost in thought, the black knife from the Black Pottery Idol flashing through his mind. 0

"Haha," Ding Weiwei laughed, "What you said is really interesting. How old are you? But I also don't want to go to university in Haizhou City; I want to go to the capital for university. My goal is to study journalism at Huaxia National University!" 0

In Huaxia Nation, many key liberal arts and social science programs are concentrated in the capital's Yanjing University and Huaxia National University. The School of Journalism at Huaxia National University is renowned. There is a saying in the journalism field: "Huaxia journalists are split between the two national universities." Therefore, this major has high admission scores among liberal arts programs year after year. Ding Weiwei spoke with confidence. 0

"You have a good foundation; if you work hard, there are still six months left. You can definitely get into university!" Ding Weiwei encouraged Zhang Yang. 0

"I once tried not eating all day and not sleeping all night, thinking it was useless; it's better to study," Zhang Yang suddenly said, shaking his head. Ding Weiwei was taken aback; Zhang Yang spoke so naturally that it seemed impossible to fake. After he finished speaking, however, he fell into deep thought, as if he had little confidence about getting into university. 0

In Wuzhong, there are two key classes, one for liberal arts and one for science, with an undergraduate admission rate generally around eighty percent. In contrast, other regular classes often have an admission rate of only about ten percent. 0

Ding Weiwei was in the key liberal arts class, while Zhang Yang was in the regular liberal arts class. 0

There were only six months left until the college entrance examination. 0
