I walked straight to the Dressing Room, ready for my audition. Today, I was auditioning for the role of the Concubine in the movie, the male lead's Concubine, who is also his forbidden lover. The character is complex and challenging to portray.
While waiting, Jiang Jingyu suddenly approached me. He looked down at me, and his alluring voice rang out, "Sister." Jiang Jingyu is five years younger than me. During the filming of Slow Life, he liked to follow me around.
I looked up and met his bright eyes. His eyes were distinctly black and white, clear and pure, like glass submerged in water, sparkling with light. "Sister, have you recovered from your illness?" Jiang Jingyu stared at me, his gaze drifting downward. It lingered briefly on my lips before subtly moving away.
I felt inexplicably dry-mouthed and replied, "Much better, thank you." Jiang Jingyu pressed his lips together slightly and said, "Sister, your lip color is very red and beautiful."
I lowered my gaze to his chest. Two buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing a glimpse of his attractive collarbone. Further down was his lean chest... I suddenly looked up, unable to believe what I was seeing. His gaze was not one that a younger brother should have towards his sister!
Jiang Jingyu chuckled lightly and reached out to touch my hair. "Sister, do your best~ I look forward to seeing you on camera."
My cheeks were burning, and my heart was pounding like a drum. It wasn't until Jiang Jingyu left that I finally let out a sigh of relief. Today, Jiang Jingyu wore a white shirt paired with black trousers. It was a simple and plain outfit, yet because of his outstanding temperament and looks, he managed to exude a unique charm. Especially with the hem of his shirt tucked into his trousers, it accentuated his slim and perfect waistline. Every move he made carried an air of casual laziness.
"Miss He, it's your turn to audition," the assistant reminded me. I quickly composed myself and walked into the studio. I wore a light blue Cheongsam, complemented by a shawl of the same color. My dark hair was styled into a bun at the back of my head, with a few loose curls falling by my ears, adding a touch of laziness to my appearance. As the concubine of the male lead in the film, my age was set around twenty-five. This is the most beautiful and mature age for a woman, and I happened to be in that age range.
The male lead I was auditioning for was none other than Jiang Jingyu. He was five years younger than me and played the leading role in this movie. "Sister, are you feeling unwell?" Jiang Jingyu looked at me with concern. "I'm almost better," I instinctively replied. Only after saying that did I realize that Jiang Jingyu's way of addressing me seemed a bit off.
"Sister, your lips are very red and beautiful."
Jiang Jingyu gazed deeply at me.
My cheeks burned, and I dared not meet his eyes.
Today's audition scene features the Concubine swimming in Crescent Lake.
The young master stood on the shore, silently watching.
Their gazes collided, and an undercurrent surged.
The Concubine's feelings towards the young master were those of an elder's concern for a younger, as well as a woman's admiration for a man.
The young master's feelings towards the Concubine were a man's desire for a woman, along with a younger's respect for an elder.
It was a complex and contradictory relationship.
When Jiang Jingyu and I were rehearsing,
the possessiveness and allure in his eyes nearly took my breath away.
He knelt partially on the shore while I floated on the water's surface.
As our eyes met, his gaze seemed to want to swallow me whole.
I suddenly felt as if I had fallen into a trap, unable to escape.
Just as the audition was about to reach its conclusion, the door to the room suddenly opened.
Chutian stood at the doorway, a casual smile on his face: "Sorry I'm late."
My heart sank sharply.
