I scoffed disdainfully as I watched Jenny sway her hips and leave, the sound of her high heels clicking on the floor gradually fading away. The fish had already taken the bait; it was just a matter of waiting to reel them in.
"Assistant Li, Sister Zhenni, to celebrate my success in securing President Wang's project, I'm treating tonight. Let's go to the 'Nightshade' bar to celebrate!" I deliberately raised my voice, pretending to be carefree.
Li Ming and Jenny both showed surprise on their faces upon hearing my words. They clearly hadn't expected me to invite them to the bar.
"Uh... that might not be a good idea," Li Ming feigned reluctance, his eyes flickering.
"Yeah, Jiajia, you've just joined the company; how can you let us burden you?" Jenny chimed in, but there was an unmistakable hint of smugness in her tone.
"It's fine; I have nothing to do at home anyway. Let's just consider it a chance for everyone to relax!" I feigned enthusiasm, stating firmly, "It's settled then—seven o'clock at the 'Nightshade' bar!"
With that, I ignored them and turned back to my workstation.
I knew that Li Ming and Jenny would agree to my invitation. They understood that if they refused, it would reveal their true intentions in front of me.

At seven o'clock in the evening, at the 'Nightshade' bar.
The deafening music blared, colorful lights flashed, and the air was thick with the scent of alcohol and perfume. Men and women twisted their bodies wildly on the dance floor, releasing the stress of the day.
I sat on the corner sofa, idly playing with my phone.
Li Ming and Jenny arrived late.
"Sorry, there was a bit of traffic," Li Ming said as he unbuttoned his suit jacket and sat down across from me.
Jenny looked exhausted, her makeup slightly smudged, clearly having put in some effort to look good.
"It's fine, I just got here not long ago," I said with a smile, then waved over the waiter. "Waiter, bring a dozen beers and some snacks."
"Jiajia, why did you suddenly decide to treat us to drinks today?" Jenny asked curiously.
"Oh, nothing special, just wanted to celebrate!" I raised my glass and smiled. "Come on, let's toast!"
Li Ming and Jenny also lifted their glasses and clinked them with mine.
After a few drinks, Li Ming and Jenny opened up and started asking me about the details of President Wang's project.
I pretended to be tipsy and shared what I knew about President Wang's project in bits and pieces.
Li Ming and Jenny listened intently, occasionally exchanging glances as if they were plotting something.
Seeing their expressions, I couldn't help but sneer inwardly.
Time passed second by second, and my drink kept getting stronger.
"Jiajia, are you okay?" Jenny asked with concern, though a hint of cunning flashed in her eyes.
"I'm... I'm fine..." I swayed as I stood up, my steps unsteady. "I'm just going... to the restroom..."
With that, I stumbled toward the restroom.
"Mr. Li, do you think she's doing this on purpose?" Jenny asked quietly, watching my retreating figure.
"Probably not. Just look at how drunk she is," Li Ming shook his head and replied. "Let's continue..."
I hid in the restroom stall, listening to Li Ming and Jenny's conversation outside, a cold smile creeping onto my lips.
The show was about to begin.
