Perhaps others would not dare to do so, but Mary, as the eldest and most loyal member of the Green Family, had always felt ashamed of the fourth son of this Baron. 0

"No need, I was just asking casually," Zhang Lin nodded. She also knew about her brother's bad behavior and did not press further. 0

As they walked and talked, the group quickly arrived at the castle's hall. 0

While the castle might not look luxurious from the outside, inside it was equipped with standard noble facilities, resplendent and magnificent. 0

After casually chatting with Mary about a few other matters, Mary waved away most of the people around them, leaving only two maids. 0

"Sister, if you need anything, just instruct them. I have some trivial matters to attend to, so I won't keep you company." 0

"Okay, Aunt Mary, you go ahead and take care of your business. Don't worry about me." 0

As the housekeeper, Mary had many chores to handle, which Zhang Lin understood. 0

After Mary took her leave, only the two unfamiliar maids remained behind. 0

Glancing around the strange yet familiar hall, she thought for a moment and said to the maids behind her in a calm tone, "Prepare some hot water in my room; I need to wash up." 0

"Yes, Sister." 0

Two Maids respectfully bowed and turned to busy themselves with their tasks. 0

Zhang Lin was finally alone. 0

Following her memory, she walked to her private bedroom. 0

She took a deep breath and exhaled. 0

Although she possessed the memories of Freya, Zhang Lin herself was not the deceased Freya. Therefore, in terms of habits and speech, she deliberately pretended to be the original Freya. 0

This made it somewhat difficult for her, as she was not good at disguising herself, and only now, being alone, could she finally relax. 0

The bedroom was not very large; aside from a fixed wardrobe and a bed, there was also a Writing Desk and a chair. 0

It was simple and tidy, resembling a boy's room. 0

On the wall near the bed, Zhang Lin noticed a beautifully designed Cross Sword hanging there. 0

In her memories, that was a birthday gift from Baron when she turned fourteen. 0

Thinking about Baron's previous attitude towards her, Zhang Lin shook her head helplessly. 0

On the Writing Desk lay several thick black-covered books scattered about, with a light yellow parchment in the middle and a white Feather Pen inserted into an ink bottle. 0

The carriage came to a stop, and what came into Zhang Lin's view was the headquarters of the Green Family, Green Castle, standing amidst a grove of trees. 0

However, to Zhang Lin, it seemed more like a walled estate than a castle. 0

The castle was only about five stories high, a stark contrast to the towering castles she had seen in movies in her past life. 0

Nevertheless, its area was much larger than she had imagined, resembling a large district. 0

Surrounding it were high walls wide enough for someone to run along, and in the center of the wall stood a massive wooden door wrapped in iron sheets, connected by pulleys. It seemed that unless someone inside opened the door, no one could enter. 0

On top of the high walls stood two Guard Members of the castle. Upon seeing Zhang Lin descend from the carriage, they immediately shouted loudly. 0

"Freya! Sister Freya is back! Open the door! Open the door!" 0

With a creaking sound, the enormous iron door slowly swung open. 0

An elderly woman with graying hair, dressed in a black robe and exceptionally thin, stepped out first. Following her were several maids dressed in maid uniforms. 0

"Aunt Mary." Seeing the welcoming elderly woman, Zhang Lin smiled and walked forward. 0

Mary was the housekeeper responsible for managing everything at Green Castle. She had followed the Green Family since her youth and had raised Baron herself, making her one of the most loyal confidants of the family. 0

"Welcome back, Sister Freya." 0

Mary, who was a head taller than Zhang Lin, tightly embraced her delicate figure. 0

As she held Zhang Lin, she realized that this seemingly frail body was not as weak as it appeared; the strong arms wrapped around her were almost painful. 0

Fortunately, Mary only symbolically hugged her before letting go. 0

"I've already told the Baron not to let you leave the castle. Girls should behave like girls. The Baron just won't listen. No more dangerous activities like horseback riding or hunting. If you really want to see some animals, I can have someone catch a few for you. You see this injury on your head? Who knows what happened?" 0

Mary's words spilled out in a stream, and although there was a hint of reproach in her tone, Zhang Lin simply smiled in response, accustomed to it. 0

As they walked toward the castle surrounded by a crowd, listening to Mary's chatter, Zhang Lin furrowed her brow slightly and interrupted Mary. 0

"By the way, Aunt Mary, where is Eric?" 0

Eric Green, the Baron's fourth son, was born out of family interests after his father’s wife Freya passed away. He was the child of a Viscount's daughter, but that daughter eloped with a farmer shortly after giving birth to Eric. This incident became a lifelong disgrace for the Baron. In her memory, Eric had always been weak and sickly but acted arrogantly due to his status as the Baron's son. He often bullied others, and although this did not affect the Baron—known for his brutality and iron-fisted rule—he harbored no affection for this son, perhaps due to his mother's grievances. 0

Normally, when Freya returned to the castle, Mary the Butler and most of the staff would come to greet her, and Eric, being her brother, would have to show up as well. 0

However, at this moment, Eric was nowhere to be seen. 0

"Young Master Eric has taken a liking to a blacksmith's daughter; he might be in his room now. If you want to see him, I can have someone call for him." 0

Although Mary referred to Eric as "young master," her disdain was evident to anyone who looked closely. 0

Zhang Lin pulled out a chair and sat down, gently stroking the parchment, which was filled with dense letters that seemed to have been written by Freya and were still unfinished. 0

These letters were not from any language that had ever existed on Earth; without the fusion of memories, she might not have understood them at all. 0

The text resembled diary-like musings. After just a glance, Zhang Lin casually picked up the thick black book beside her. 0

Her fair fingers caressed the black cover of the book as she softly read the title aloud. 0

"Byron's Universal History, compiled by Elgreen Library. Is this a history book?" 0

As Zhang Lin turned to the first page, a note fell out: "Please return by November 5." 0

It seemed that this book did not belong to her, and there was a note for its return. 0

Before she could flip through a few more pages, a knock sounded from outside the door. 0

"Knock, knock, knock." 0
