The cold command behind them made the two reluctantly part ways. Yan Wushuang obediently returned to his side, while Rafas kept his arm wrapped around her from behind. When Yezi saw how possessively that man held Wushuang, she felt a surge of envy.
Originally, she had come over to keep Wushuang company, but Rafas was worried their relationship might become too close, so he changed his mind and wouldn’t let her stay. Instead, he allowed her to be with Faisal, permitting her to visit Wushuang during the day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Although Wushuang was unhappy about it, she could only nod in agreement.
With the two men off discussing their matters, Wushuang took Yezi around the castle for a tour. She showed her everything that was accessible, and it turned out to be the happiest day for Yezi in this world because she had found a good friend here… Ieyako!
“Yezi, how did you end up on that black ship?” After they had played and were tired, they sat back-to-back by the lake and shared their experiences.
Ieyako looked up at the blue sky and slowly said, “I’m an illegitimate child. My father is a Japanese businessman who met my mother at a nightclub. Later, I was born. After my mother passed away, my father brought me to his home, but my stepmother didn’t like me. Everyone in the family disliked me because I was an illegitimate child and because my mother was a hostess at a nightclub. Recently, my father passed away. The night before last, when I returned home, I was suddenly knocked out. When I woke up, I was already on that ship. It’s clear that my stepmother sold me there because she once said that my mother was for sale and so am I!”
After hearing Yezi’s story, Wushuang reached out and grabbed her arm. “Don’t be sad; everything will get better!”
“Don’t worry about me; I’m fine. I’ve accepted everything. Anyway, I’m graduating high school this semester and will leave that house soon; this is just a bit earlier than planned. But why were you there? I'm really curious!” Yezi looked around at the environment and then at the man who was possessively holding Wushuang; she found it quite intriguing.
“It’s all my fault for being foolish. I wanted to escape from here but ended up falling into his wife’s trap and got sold there. Don’t you think I’m silly?” Wushuang turned to look at Yezi; expressing her feelings made her feel much better.
“What? You mean that man has a wife? Is it his wife who sold you?” Yezi seemed somewhat incredulous but considering their ages—both were nearly thirty—it wouldn’t be surprising if he had a wife.
Wushuang sighed and nodded; it seemed she was easily deceived. Was being naive in this place really foolish?
“Wushuang, does he treat you badly? Is that why you want to escape?” Yezi looked at her with concern; it appeared that Wushuang's life wasn’t easy either.
“I don’t even know how to explain it to you. When I figure things out better, I’ll tell you my story next time, okay?” She was a princess from A Thousand Years Ago and needed some time to clarify everything.
At that moment, Rafas and Faisal walked toward them; it seemed like it was almost time for them to leave as Faisal was going to take Yezi away.
“It’s still not dark yet; are you really taking Yezi away now?” Wushuang reluctantly held onto her hand as if they were parting after just meeting again, feeling like they were about to be separated by those domineering men once more.
"Miss Wushuang, I want to take her to buy some clothes and daily necessities she needs. I'll bring her back another day to chat with you and read," Faisal signaled for Yezi to come over, while Rafas also stood beside Wushuang.
"Yezi is going to buy clothes and daily necessities, so I’ll go too. It just so happens that I don’t have those things either." Wushuang wanted to seize more time with Yezi, and without thinking, she blurted it out.
Upon hearing this, Rafas was displeased. How dare she say she had no clothes or daily necessities? It was infuriating. His warning gaze was fixed on her; if she dared to say another word, he would ensure they never met again.
Wushuang caught his warning look and lowered her head in frustration. After tugging at Yezi's hand, she turned and ran towards the room, crying as she went, repeatedly cursing him in her heart.
Watching Wushuang leave in distress, Yezi felt at a loss for words and obediently followed Faisal out of the castle.
Wushuang did not return to her room but instead hid in a storage room. Rafas followed her in, initially thinking she had gone back to her room, but found it empty. Where could she have hidden?
"Yan Wushuang, come out..." Rafas shouted from the hall. He asked several servants, all of whom said they saw her enter the house, but no one knew where she had gone now.
Wushuang heard his voice but refused to come out. He was not trustworthy; after all the effort she put into making a friend, he had promised to let Yezi stay, only to change his mind. He constantly threatened her no matter where she was. She had had enough.
"Yan Wushuang, get out here! If you don’t come out now, I’ll punish you later." Rafas was losing his patience. She was clearly inside; where could she possibly run off to?
He pulled up all the surveillance footage from the house; he was determined to find her. Watching the footage of that annoying woman running in, he realized she had hidden there. Rafas strode towards that location.
Wushuang took out a jade pendant that looked exactly like hers. Seeing it reminded her of the one man who treated her well besides her father, the Empress—General Longze. She wondered how he was doing now.
Tears fell onto the jade pendant in her hand when Rafas kicked open the door and saw her holding it tightly while crying. He didn’t understand what was wrong with her; she had been fine that morning. The moment that woman arrived, she reverted back to being tearful and miserable. He regretted letting that woman accompany her.
"Yan Wushuang, are you throwing a tantrum at me? Didn’t you hear me calling you outside just now?" Rafas approached her step by step, grabbing her wrist and forcing her to face him.
Yan Wushuang lowered her head in silence, thinking that whatever he wanted was fine, preferably to just kill her so her soul could return home and this life could end. Whatever he wished!
Rafas hated it the most when she looked at him with such eyes, as if she feared nothing. It was the thing he disliked and was tired of the most. He reached out and grabbed her neck, angrily asking, "Tell me, what do you really want? Who are you putting on this face for?"
He had never intended to hurt her; he just wanted to scare her out of anger. But he didn't realize that Wushuang was too delicate. Being choked like this made it hard for her to breathe, causing her eyes to widen in panic, and her cheeks turned pale without a trace of blood.
Seeing her strange expression, Rafas immediately released his grip and nervously held her close. "Baby, are you okay?"
"Cough, cough, cough! Get away from me! Why don’t you just choke me to death? If I die, no one will make you angry!" Wushuang struggled hard to push him away but ended up being pulled into his embrace as he left the storage room.
"Want to die? It's not that easy. Let's see how I punish you this time!" He threw her onto the bed and immediately pounced on her. At that moment, when Wushuang saw the desire and anger in his eyes, she froze for a second before bursting into tears.
"Get away! Get away! Lefas, help me... help me..." she cried out in terror, seemingly reliving the scene from the previous night.
Her cries left Rafas stunned. He stepped forward and held her tightly; the anger from earlier vanished, replaced by gentle embraces and comfort.
Wushuang was terrified because of Smith Annie. After being beaten by Rafas last night, she received a call from Smithtony early today, saying that Wat and the two handlers were found dead on the streets of England last night. The black ship had only been discovered as charred wreckage in the Atlantic.
Annie was so frightened that she threw away the phone. It seemed she had made a wrong move; Rafas was not the man she had imagined. He was terrifying—so terrifying that just seeing him felt like facing a dangerous situation.
Looking at the scars on her arms from avoiding his whip, and even more on her back, she thought that if he weren't cooperating with his father right now, he might have really killed her.
Thinking of this made Smith Annie shiver; moving caused pain in her wounds. Now she was covered in injuries, and if she wanted to fully recover, it seemed she couldn't go out for the entire month!
Wushuang was spoiled in Rafas's arms while Faisal took Yezi to buy supplies and settled her in a room next door. With his company last night, she had slept comfortably. But tonight, sleeping alone in this unfamiliar room made her feel very uneasy.
Looking at the small alarm clock on the bedside, it was already past one in the morning. Every time she turned off the lights, she would recall that terrifying scene. She felt this way, and Wushuang felt the same, which is why Rafas had specially prepared a nightlight for her, allowing her to clearly see everything in the room.
However, Faisal didn’t care much about these things. After handling his matters, he passed by Yezi's room and noticed that her light was still on at this hour. He stood quietly for three seconds before finally heading back to his own room.
Having also spent a sleepless night, he found himself unable to sleep again tonight. He tossed and turned in bed, feeling like something was missing.
“Knock, knock, knock…” A series of knocks sounded at the door. Faisal got up and opened it, only to see her standing there with a pillow in her arms. “Why aren’t you asleep yet?”
“I’m scared to sleep alone, so I thought…” Yezi couldn’t bring herself to finish her sentence.
“What do you want to do?” Faisal asked knowingly, deliberately prompting her.
“I want to sleep with you…” Yezi mumbled, looking down and quickly saying it.
After staring at her for three seconds, Faisal opened the door wider for her to come in. Without saying a word, he returned to bed and lay down, leaving her to climb onto his bed herself.
In reality, Faisal completely misunderstood Yezi’s intentions. She remembered there was a sofa in his room, so she had brought a pillow over with the idea that he could sleep in his bed while she would take the sofa.
Faisal waited for a while; when the lights were turned off and she still hadn’t come to bed, he sat up to see what she was doing. To his surprise, he found her sleeping on the sofa with the pillow in her arms. This infuriated him!
“Ieyako, get over here!” Faisal rarely lost his temper with women, but today was an exception.
