Yan Wushuang took a deep breath and smiled lightly. After he got out of the car first, he made a gentlemanly gesture to invite her out. She elegantly stepped out and stood beside him, linking her arm with his, responding to the flashes and cheers coming from all directions.
"Mr. Lei, when are you and Miss Wushuang planning to hold the wedding?" Once they were out of sight from the reporters, Yamamoto Ryuichi arrived slowly with Yamamoto Misa. The reporters were very curious about this young and promising new leader of Yamaguchi-gumi. They could find no information about his background; they only knew he had suddenly appeared in the Yamamoto Family after the former leader Yamamoto Kazuo was killed. Shortly after that, he emerged and quickly revitalized the struggling Yamaguchi-gumi within months, reclaiming its position in Japan's underworld!
The young and handsome man became an important figure sought after by reporters, but he paid no attention to them at all as he walked down the red carpet with the cold demeanor of an iceberg alongside Yamamoto Misa.
As Rafas entered the banquet hall with Yan Wushuang, Shouya approached them in a stylish white suit, accompanied by a tall blonde beauty.
"You finally made it! I've been waiting for you for a long time. But tonight's Wushuang is indeed worth the wait!" He already knew that Wushuang was beautiful but had no idea that under careful preparation she would be stunning enough to leave all men breathless.
"Hehe... Brother Shouya is joking; this lady beside you is even more beautiful!" Wushuang said with a light laugh, humbly complimenting the equally noble and beautiful lady next to Shouya.
As Yamamoto Ryuichi entered the banquet hall with Yamamoto Misa, his eyes immediately fell upon Yan Wushuang, whom he had been longing for. She was so beautiful as always; wherever she went, she remained the center of attention.
Wushuang linked arms with Rafas and happily chatted with Shouya and his companion, seemingly unaware of the intense gaze behind her. However, Rafas quickly sensed it; he tightened his embrace around Wushuang and led her towards the dining area.
"Baby, are you hungry? The auction hasn't started yet; it's currently time for guest reception. Let me take you to eat something first!" He gently cared for her with every action observed by Yamamoto Ryuichi and Misa behind them.
Wushuang smiled sweetly at him as the four of them walked towards the dining area. Misa noticed Long Yi's intense gaze and tightly clenched fists, and immediately nudged him to help him regain his lost composure.
"Yamamoto Brother, you arrived quite early, huh?" Just as Yamamoto Ryuichi was managing to suppress his rising emotions, he heard Kogura's annoying voice from behind.
Yamamoto Ryuichi turned to look at him, his expression still neutral as he politely shook his hand. "Not too early, just got here."
"Nice to meet you! I didn't expect Miss Yamamoto to be so stunningly beautiful!" Kogura completely disregarded Yamamoto Ryuichi, seeing him merely as a pawn. However, when he caught sight of Yamamoto Misa beside him, a hint of astonishment appeared in his eyes.
Although Misa did not possess Wushuang's breathtaking beauty, she was still quite attractive with her fair skin and charming looks, embodying the typical Japanese kawaii girl.
"Hello!" Misa seemed to have no fondness for him and merely greeted him out of politeness. Kogura stepped forward and took her hand, kissing the back of her fair hand in a gentlemanly manner.
Misa disliked his touch and quickly withdrew her hand, hiding behind Long Yi. Long Yi knew that Kogura had a lecherous side, and if he dared to make a move on Misa, he would not hesitate to confront him.
The banquet hall was spacious and lavishly decorated, capable of accommodating five thousand people but currently hosting fewer than a thousand. The hall was divided into dining areas, resting areas, and an auction area for later. Yan Wushuang stayed close to Rafas, while those hoping to curry favor with Rafas were deterred by his cold demeanor. Only a few familiar acquaintances received polite exchanges from him, but he never let go of Yan Wushuang's hand.
"Lefas, are they trying to discuss business with you?" Wushuang overheard their conversation; those people hinted at wanting to speak with Rafas privately but were politely declined.
"It's fine; our Monica has endless money to make and doesn't need their business. They only want me for investment in their projects. Compared to those projects, I care more about you!" His blatant confession made Wushuang's cheeks flush with embarrassment as she shyly buried her face in his embrace.
Yamamoto Ryuichi and Kogura also arrived at the dining area and spotted the two seemingly flirting from a distance. Although they only saw her profile, her lively and shy beauty had completely captivated Kogura. He thought that only such a woman deserved to stand by his side, and he would definitely take her away from Rafas to make her his own.
In contrast, Yamamoto Ryuichi felt completely different; he could no longer trust his own eyes. Many questions arose in his mind: Why was Wushuang so close to him? They didn't seem forced at all—why was that? Wushuang was definitely not an ungrateful person; what was going on? He needed to find a way to get closer to Wushuang.
Shouya held a glass of brandy in one hand while leading his beautiful companion for the night over to Rafas. He leaned in close and whispered a few words before jokingly starting a conversation with Wushuang. Kogura and Yamamoto Ryuichi slowly approached them as well.
At that moment, Shouya deliberately told a joke, pretending to laugh too hard and accidentally spilling some brandy onto Wushuang's dress. "Oh no! It's my fault for laughing too excitedly! Luckily this brandy is colorless. Wushuang, you should quickly go wash your hands; Amy will go with you to help tidy up!"
"Okay, you all wait for us to come back!" Shouya successfully sent Wushuang away while his companion Amy was an undercover female assassin from their organization specifically assigned to protect Yan Wushuang.
Yamamoto Ryuichi watched Wushuang leave, and Misa proactively followed her to find her. Kogura looked at the beautiful woman departing and couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. However, the night was still young, and he didn't believe he wouldn't get a chance to interact with a beauty.
“Lefas, long time no see!” Kogura suddenly looked at him and stepped forward to greet him.
“You've recovered quite quickly; your ability to bounce back is really something else, wouldn’t you agree, Mr. Yamamoto?” Rafas completely ignored Kogura and instead started teasing Long Yi behind him.
“Well, that must be thanks to your good fortune, General Tolei! But I wonder if you've heard this saying: 'Wildfires cannot be extinguished; spring winds will blow again.'” Yamamoto Ryuichi showed no fear, his dark eyes fixed intently on Rafas's masked face.
“Hahaha... very good! If everything burned out at once, this game wouldn’t be fun anymore!” Rafas looked at his face and decided to let him off the hook this time; however, he would not let him escape unscathed again.
In the restroom, Amy helped Yan Wushuang dry her skirt while Misa also entered, deliberately walking over to the sink to look at her. Wushuang felt someone watching her and looked up to meet Misa's gaze. Misa was a very cute and pretty girl, reminiscent of the feeling she got from Yezi; perhaps she was Japanese.
Wushuang smiled at Misa but then lowered her head again, busy tidying her skirt as if she didn’t recognize her. However, it was precisely this demeanor that left Misa stunned as she stood there excitedly asking, “Wushuang, how come you don’t even recognize me? I’m Misa!”
Wushuang, still adjusting her skirt, was surprised to hear the girl call her name and claim to know her. She looked up in astonishment and asked, “You know me?”
“Wushuang, what’s wrong with you? How could you not recognize me? Where is Yezi? And why are you so close and intimate with that jerk? Have you forgotten how he treated all of us?” Misa questioned her passionately; she had to make Wushuang wake up to reality.
Yan Wushuang was confused by her words but recognized Yezi, so it seemed she did indeed know her. Meanwhile, Amy pulled Yan Wushuang behind her and rudely said to Misa, “Sorry miss, we don’t know you!”
“Don’t know me? How could that be possible? Wushuang, you might not remember me, but what about Long Ze? Your General Longze—you must remember him!” She continued insistently, shouting Long Ze's name loudly.
