"One hundred percent, as for that one percent, it usually involves unforeseen circumstances that cannot be predicted. Compared to Mrs. Lei's situation, a Cesarean Section is the safest option!" The doctor explained professionally.
Rafas nodded, understanding her words: "What I want is one hundred percent. No matter what, you must ensure a one hundred percent safety success rate!"
"I will do my best, Mr. Lei!" the doctor replied.
As they exited the hospital, she realized she hadn't absorbed a single word from their earlier conversation; it sounded quite frightening.
"Lefas, if something happens to me, you have to raise the child," she suddenly said without any context.
Rafas furrowed his brow, his expression instantly darkening. Looking at her worried face, he said seriously, "Fool, what are you talking about? You mustn't say such things in the future!"
"I just felt a bit anxious after hearing you talk like that," she leaned against his shoulder.
What kind of person Rafas was; how could he allow any danger to come to her and their child?
"Listen carefully, these things will never happen. So stop overthinking. As long as I, Rafas, am here, you will absolutely not be in any danger, understand?" Rafas spoke very seriously.
Looking into his eyes, Yan Wushuang seemed to understand the voice of his heart and nodded obediently, allowing his presence to envelop her.
Three months later... Japan.
Misa had just finished her prenatal checkup accompanied by a maid. Holding the ultrasound report in her hand, she was all smiles as she prepared to find Long Yi to show him the baby's photo!
"Miss, you're already eight months pregnant; you need to be careful. I think we should go back. Mr. Yamamoto will be home tonight and can see the little master's photo then," the maid advised with concern.
Eight months pregnant, Yamamoto Misa was already quite round and had to be very careful while walking. After seeing the baby's entire form during the ultrasound, she was so excited that she insisted on finding Yamamoto Ryuichi!
"It's okay; you and the driver are right here, right? Just take me to see Mr. Yamamoto and then we can go home together. With him around, nothing will happen," Misa said with a bright smile; she couldn't wait any longer.
Unable to dissuade her, the maid could only comply with her wishes and followed her into the car to find her husband.
At the headquarters of the Yamaguchi-gumi, Yamamoto Ryuichi had just finished a call with New York when he saw Yamamoto Misa walk in with her prominent belly. Frowning tightly, he immediately stood up to support her.
“Misa, what’s going on with you? Do you know you can’t just wander around outside? What if something happens? What will you and the baby do?” Long Yi helped her sit down on the sofa; she was really too bold.
Seeing that the master was a bit angry, the maid quickly explained for Misa, “Sir, please don’t blame Madam. She rushed over because we just finished the prenatal check-up, and she was excited to bring you a photo of the young master.”
Listening to the maid's words, Yamamoto Ryuichi changed his expression and looked at Misa curiously, “Did you take another picture of the baby today? Let me see!”
“What picture? It’s called an Ultrasound!” Misa chuckled lightly; it had been so long, and he still didn’t understand.
She took out her handbag and pulled out the materials from the hospital check-up to show him. Yamamoto Ryuichi looked at what was written in the notebook with concern, but he couldn’t understand anything; he was just staring blankly at a photo.
Three months ago, the doctor said their child was a boy. By eight months, the baby would be fully formed and could be born soon. However, looking at this so-called Ultrasound photo, he couldn’t make heads or tails of it.
Misa looked at him and could tell he was puzzled without needing to ask.
Linking her arm through his, she pointed to the positions as told by the doctor and indicated on the image, “This is the little head, this is the little hand, and foot…”
Looking at this amazing photo, Yamamoto Ryuichi smiled. Life truly is miraculous; watching his child grow little by little made him particularly happy. However, deep down, he had a regret that he would never be able to fulfill in this lifetime!
“I’ve almost finished my business here. For your and the baby’s safety, let’s head home early. It’s not good to linger outside for too long!” Yamamoto Ryuichi tidied up the things on the table and prepared to leave with her.
Misa understood her situation; she listened to him now. Embraced by him, she happily left the club.
Yamamoto Ryuichi protected her as they slowly walked out. The car was already waiting at the door. Just as he was about to help Misa into the car, a loud male voice came from the right: “Yamamoto Ryuichi, go die!”
Yamamoto Ryuichi quickly reacted and saw a man holding a gun who had just fired a bullet at him. He embraced Misa tightly and swiftly stepped back to dodge… “Bang!” A gunshot shattered the original tranquility.
Seeing that his first shot missed, the man continued firing at him one after another. Yamamoto Ryuichi’s bodyguard also reacted quickly, drawing his gun and shooting back at him. The man rolled away several times to evade the bodyguard's barrage while shouting loudly: “Yamamoto Ryuichi, if I die today, I’ll take you down with me!”
The man hid in a corner, took off his coat, and slowly reappeared in front of everyone. This time everyone finally got a clear look at his appearance.
He was a middle-aged man with a face full of excess flesh, around forty years old. At first glance, he didn’t seem like a good person; his unkempt beard looked like it hadn’t been trimmed in ages. His eyes were filled with resentment as he glared menacingly at Yamamoto Ryuichi and Misa, who were being protected behind others.
Misa watched as he removed his coat, revealing that he was strapped with explosives. Was this man insane? How could he do something so terrifying? If the explosives on him detonated, it would surely endanger everyone around them, including her and the baby.
Yamamoto Ryuichi tightly embraced the tense Misa. This guy must be crazy to seek revenge in such an extreme way!
"Watanabe, do you think this will accomplish anything?" Yamamoto Ryuichi instructed the bodyguard in front of him to step aside, handing Misa over to a servant behind him as he approached Watanabe to negotiate.
"Of course it will! Since you won't give me a way out, we'll die together!" The man deliberately pulled out a lighter, making it clear he intended to detonate the explosives.
Misa watched them confront each other from behind, feeling an overwhelming panic. Her heart raced, and her palms were sweating from anxiety...
Yamamoto Ryuichi assessed the explosives on Watanabe's body and thought about persuading him to let go of his hatred. However, given the short time frame, that seemed nearly impossible. The only option was to take him down!
But with explosives strapped to him, if he couldn't shoot him before he detonated them, they could all be threatened by the blast. Seeing how extreme Watanabe was, Yamamoto knew he had to take a desperate gamble.
"Watanabe, have you ever considered why you lost to me?" Yamamoto Ryuichi engaged him in conversation while trying to distract him for a chance to shoot.
Watanabe Ichiro had been a leader in the underworld but had fled after being defeated by the Yamaguchi-gumi last month, abandoning even his wife and children. Now he was back here, claiming revenge!
Watanabe was momentarily distracted by his words, his brow furrowing tighter. "What do you mean? Wasn't it your intention to expand your territory by deliberately disrupting my turf?"
"Hahaha... Watanabe, you're thinking too simply! The Yamaguchi-gumi's influence spans all of Japan. Why would I care about your small turf?" Yamamoto Ryuichi had successfully diverted his attention and prepared to take him down.
Misa felt her heart race as she saw him getting closer. At such a critical moment, she couldn't possibly step forward to pull him back; she could only watch anxiously from behind.
"Then what is it? Tell me what it is!" Watanabe became agitated, his focus wavering.
Yamamoto Ryuichi had his gun ready behind him. Seizing the moment when Watanabe lowered his head in thought, he swiftly aimed at him... "Bang!" A bullet was fired!
As everyone heard the gunshot, they saw Watanabe's lighter drop from his hand. Blood dripped from his forehead as he collapsed instantly...
Yamamoto Ryuichi's shot had struck precisely at his forehead, killing him instantly!
The sound of the gunshot pushed Wushuang's tension to its peak. When she saw the man fall to the ground, her heart sank, but she suddenly felt a wet and sticky sensation spreading throughout her body.
"Ah... Madam, it's time to give birth..." The maid standing beside her, who had previously witnessed Misa's birth and had some experience, was startled by the sight of blood on the ground and immediately shouted.
Yamamoto Ryuichi heard the shout and rushed back to Misa's side. Misa seemed still dazed from the earlier scene, staring blankly at him as he approached until a wave of pain began to surge in her abdomen.
"Ah... it hurts..." Misa pressed her hand against her swollen belly, her face growing increasingly pale.
"What’s going on? How could this happen? We need to go to the hospital immediately!" Long Yi exclaimed as he held her and helped the pale-faced Misa into the car.
"It hurts so much..." Misa clutched Long Yi's hand tightly, each contraction making it harder for her to speak.
"It's okay, we'll be at the hospital soon. Think about the baby; it must be eager to come out and see us!" Yamamoto Ryuichi reassured her while instructing the maid to contact the hospital and prepare everything. They would arrive shortly, and he would ensure nothing happened to his child.
The car sped down the highway, and when they arrived at the hospital, doctors and nurses were already waiting outside. As soon as they arrived, they could head straight into the delivery room.
"Long Yi, it hurts so much..." Misa was becoming weaker, desperately gripping his arm.
"Drive faster..." Yamamoto Ryuichi shouted anxiously as he noticed Misa's worsening condition.
"It's okay, I'm here. Everything will be fine!" He steadied himself and held Misa close.
"Ah..." Inside the delivery room, Misa's cries grew louder as she neared exhaustion.
