“Shuang'er... what do you mean by all this? Why are you apologizing for him? What do you really want to say?” Long Yi felt something was off, especially with Wushuang's words, which truly surprised him.
Standing outside the door, Yezi pushed her way to Wushuang's side and said to Yamamoto Ryuichi with displeasure, “Can't you tell what this means? Wushuang doesn't want to go with you; she wants to stay by her husband's side!”
“Shut up... I want Wushuang to tell me herself what this means!” Long Yi shouted angrily at Yezi, his heart growing more restless.
The two girls held hands tightly, with Yezi encouraging her. Only by making things clear could they break his obsession with her. Perhaps over time, he would forget her and accept Miss Misa.
Taking a deep breath, Wushuang slowly said, “I'm sorry, I can't go with you because I... I've already fallen in love with Lefas. I've accepted his proposal, and after today, I will be his wife, and he will be my husband!”
Long Yi was provoked by her words and lost control. His pupils dilated, bloodshot eyes filled with rage as he suddenly grabbed Wushuang's arm tightly, shaking her as he asked excitedly, “No... Shuang'er, tell me this isn't true! This is all a lie! You're being coerced by that bastard, right? Tell me... what trick is he using to force you?”
“Yamamoto Ryuichi, let go! You're hurting Wushuang! Let go now...” He gripped Wushuang's arm roughly while Yezi desperately tried to push him away but couldn't budge him an inch.
“General, I'm sorry. This is all my fault; it's my mistake. I'm the one who has been unfaithful; I've let you down!” Wushuang endured the pain but held onto the truth in her heart.
Hiding around the corner, Rafas could no longer hold back and rushed out, throwing a punch at Yamamoto Ryuichi's cheek, forcing him to release his grip on Wushuang.
“That bastard dares to come looking for Wushuang! It seems today I need to teach you a lesson!” Rafas held Wushuang tightly in his arms, his sharp black eyes glaring fiercely at the unexpected guest.
“Let go of her! You have no right to marry Wushuang! You beast! Don't forget how you treated her and tormented her!” Yamamoto Ryuichi covered his injured cheek, anger reflecting in his eyes as he looked at the couple before him.
Watching them argue made Wushuang feel cold inside. She clutched at Rafas's clothing and pleaded with him, “Lefas, please don't hurt him. I beg you to let him go, okay?”
“Shuang'er, you're willing to speak for me; that means you still have feelings for me, right?” He looked at her excitedly. He understood Wushuang's temperament and didn't believe she could easily fall for another man. If that man were exceptional, he might accept it; however, everyone knew what kind of person Rafas was.
Rafas turned his gaze toward her just as Shouya hurried over. Watching the confrontation unfold made him admire this man's determination!
Meeting his gaze made Wushuang feel guilty as she lowered her head. In front of him, she could never relax; she was not someone who could lie easily. Under his intense stare, she felt as if her heart might leap out of her chest.
“Fine, I'll let him go. Today is our wedding day; I don't want any bloody incidents to tarnish our ceremony!” His voice was gentle, drawing everyone's attention toward him.
Wushuang nodded. He ultimately agreed, but judging by the general's expression, it seemed he wouldn't back down so easily!
Rafas ordered someone to take him out. Wushuang watched his retreating figure, feeling a pang of sadness that made her want to cry, but she dared not do so in front of him.
"Alright, alright, it's almost time. Shuang'er, go touch up your makeup and adjust your mood; the wedding is about to start!" Shouya clapped her hands, instructing Yezi to take Wushuang back to the bride's room. If it weren't for Yamamoto Ryuichi's interference, things might have gotten chaotic, but thankfully Wushuang refused to go with him.
Rafas embraced her as they returned to the bride's room, cupping her face and gazing at her quietly. He recalled what she had just said; regardless of whether it was true or not, he chose to believe her in this moment.
"It's okay now. Get ready; the wedding will start soon. I'll be waiting for you outside!" After gently stroking her cheek, Rafas turned and walked out.
Wushuang let out a huge sigh of relief as she sat in front of the mirror. Yezi immediately began applying makeup for her. Her expression was heavy, and her hands were tightly clasped together. Her mind was in turmoil, and she couldn't calm her emotions.
Rafas instructed Mike to keep an eye on Yamamoto Ryuichi's every move. The wedding today absolutely could not be ruined because of him; if necessary, he would eliminate him with a single shot.
Guests gathered, all wearing smiles. Regardless of any previous conflicts between the two parties, everyone set aside their grievances for the sake of Rafas's reputation and offered their congratulations with smiles.
Rafas mingled among the guests and checked the time; his bride was ready to make her entrance. Shouya signaled for the emcee to prepare as everyone took their seats. Rafas stood at the end of the red carpet, with Faisal in a black suit beside him. As the music began to play, all eyes turned toward the other end of the red carpet!
Shouya had already brought Wushuang to stand behind the door. Nervous, Wushuang's hands trembled slightly as she held her bouquet. She glanced at Shouya, hoping she could help her.
"Wushuang, take a deep breath and relax. When the door opens, just follow me and walk slowly forward until you reach Lefas. It'll be fine!" To emphasize her identity, Rafas announced that Yan Wushuang was Shouya's sworn sister. Since she didn't have a father present today, he would take on the role of brother and escort his sister to her husband.
As soon as Shouya finished speaking, the golden doors slowly opened. The melodious music filled the air as Yan Wushuang nervously clutched Shouya's arm. It was her first time seeing a wedding venue; three magnificent crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, and the surrounding decor was as splendid as a palace, exuding an air of luxury everywhere.
"Wushuang, don't get distracted; just walk with me!" Seeing that she was merely staring blankly at the scene inside without any reaction, Shouya realized how nervous she truly was. They should have done a rehearsal beforehand; it was all Lefas's fault for insisting on giving her a surprise.
Shouya reminded her as they began walking forward step by step. Yezi was her maid of honor today and stayed by her side while two little flower girls followed behind, holding up her long train as they moved in rhythm with her.
After passing through the golden doors, Shouya led Yan Wushuang onto the red carpet. As her beautiful figure appeared before everyone, gasps of admiration filled the venue.
Even through the thin veil, she had already captivated nearly all the men present; if she lifted that veil—what chaos would ensue? This was Rafas's first conclusion upon seeing her appear.
The Wedding March played beautifully under the hands of several musicians, perfectly complementing the stunning bride—a flawless combination of visual and auditory delight.
Wushuang had no smile on her face as she nervously looked at the man in a white suit not far ahead, glancing around in hopes that he had already left...
Rafas's sharp black eyes were fixed intently on Wushuang's small face behind the veil. Although it was just a thin veil, he could still clearly see what was going through her mind at that moment. The tension on her face indicated that she was still thinking about what had just happened... Damn Yamamoto Ryuichi, it was all his fault that their wedding was ruined!
Following Shouya's pace, Wushuang stepped forward. Perhaps due to her distraction, she accidentally stepped on the hem of her dress and stumbled forward. Fortunately, she had tightly grasped Shouya's arm, preventing her from embarrassing herself in front of so many people. Shouya hadn't expected her to be so careless.
She tugged at her dress, feeling a bit embarrassed as she lowered her head, not daring to look around or at Rafas in front of her. Shouya knew she must be very flustered right now, so he elegantly smiled at the distinguished guests present and continued to lead her forward.
Rafas watched her eyes welling with tears and frowned. He immediately stepped forward toward her, drawing everyone's attention. Wushuang didn't dare to look up, feeling like a child who had done something wrong.
A pair of white leather shoes appeared before her. Surprised, Wushuang looked up only to meet his deep black gaze. In front of everyone, Rafas picked her up horizontally and strode down the red carpet!
"I'm sorry, I..." Wushuang leaned against him and weakly apologized, but before she could finish, Rafas interrupted her: "Don't say you're sorry; just stay close to me!"
Wushuang fell silent and obediently listened to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and resting her head against his chest. In just a few steps, they reached the end of the red carpet. He skipped many unnecessary rituals and set her down, turning to face the priest. In front of everyone, he vowed to the priest: "Whether in wealth or poverty, in health or sickness, we will love each other deeply and respect each other until forever..."
Faisal and Yezi took out their tokens of love and presented them to the couple. Yan Wushuang first placed a ring on his finger before Rafas gently took her small hand and slid a ring onto her finger. Once the ring was securely on her ring finger, the priest solemnly announced to everyone present: "From this moment on, you are legally married. Congratulations!"
"They're not... they're not married; they don't love each other at all! How can they get married?" A familiar figure appeared outside the golden door, causing Wushuang to lean unsteadily against Rafas.
Hadn't he left? Why did he come back? Why couldn't he understand her heart? Why return to court death?
