Long Yi was unwilling to accept the situation. The helicopter was right there; how could they not find anyone? He ordered people to conduct a thorough search in the surrounding area, but there was still no sign of them.
In mid-air, Rafas' private plane slowly landed in the yard. Without needing to think much, Long Yi knew it must be that guy Rafas arriving. However, this was not the time for petty revenge; he wouldn't settle scores with him now.
Rafas hurriedly got off the plane and rushed into the vacation house. Seeing Yamamoto Ryuichi standing quietly on the balcony, he anxiously approached, "Where is Wushuang?"
Long Yi stood at a height, surveying the vacation house, still puzzled about where that guy could be hiding. Facing Rafas' questioning from behind, he turned around, sighed, and helplessly replied, "I found their private plane in the large garage by the pool, but I can't find them anywhere. I've sent people to search inside and outside once, and even had people look nearby, but there’s still no sign of them."
When Faisal walked over, he happened to hear Yamamoto Ryuichi's words. He had roughly observed the house when he entered; there were hardly any places to hide. How could they have suddenly disappeared?
"Yamamoto Ryuichi, you better not be lying to me. Don't think I won't know what you're planning with Wushuang!” Rafas looked at him suspiciously and warned him.
"If you have the ability, go look for yourself and see if your people can find anything in this house!" Long Yi scoffed and turned his head away. He didn't care how Rafas thought; if he could find Wushuang, then he would have nothing to say.
Faisal stepped forward and pulled Rafas away. The two men were bound to argue over a woman as soon as they met: "Rafas, calm down. I don't think Yamamoto Ryuichi is lying. Their plane is in the backyard, but there’s no one on it. This house doesn’t seem like a good hiding place!"
Rafas calmed down and ordered his men to conduct a thorough search inside the house, determined not to believe that they couldn't find even a trace.
The people above had no idea about a hidden basement, but those below could sense the commotion above. Kogura instructed Luca to lock Yan Wushuang and Yezi in a small room. This place had everything; before his incident, he had specifically arranged for plenty of food to be prepared in the basement. They could easily last several days as long as they could contact Yamamoto Ryuichi, and then they would see daylight again!
"My dear, why are we hiding in this filthy place? Where are we supposed to sleep?" Annie looked around; it was even darker than Rafas' underground prison before. She wondered if anyone had ever cleaned this place.
"Do you think if we stayed above we could chat safely like this now? If you don’t want to stay here, you can leave anytime. But I must remind you that Rafas is right above us. If he catches you, it won’t just be bad for all of us; especially for you—he won’t let you off because you taught us how to break into the castle and kidnap his woman!" Kogura glared at her with predatory eyes; it was too late to think about leaving now.
Smith Annie was frightened by his words, her face alternating between pale and flushed as she recalled Rafas' furious eyes when angry. She couldn't shake off that memory, especially of those writhing Snake Swarm, which was his most direct and cruel method of judgment.
Swallowed. She forced a smile as she looked at him, regretting her earlier stubbornness in following him inside. Now, what was she supposed to do? The only person beside her was a bodyguard and driver, which was hardly enough to confront them. It seemed she would have to stay close to him for now.
"Darling, don't say that. I'm yours now; how could I possibly leave you?" She moved closer to him, trying to use her voluptuous figure to entice him further.
Kogura revealed a lewd smile, reaching out to squeeze her body a few times. It wasn't the right time for Yan Wushuang yet; there would be plenty of opportunities ahead. That little temptress would eventually be his woman!
Rafas had searched both inside and outside thoroughly, nearly turning the entire house upside down. Aside from the plane, there was no trace of anything else. Where on earth had that bastard Kogura hidden her?
To prevent them from slipping away, Yamamoto Ryuichi had someone take their plane away and quietly stationed people outside the vacation house. The three men had a strong feeling that Kogura was nearby; as long as they secured the vacation house, they would surely find their whereabouts!
Yamamoto Ryuichi and Rafas were two men who were originally at odds with each other. This time, in order to save Wushuang, they had no choice but to cooperate. Although Rafas had enough power not to need his help, in Japan, Yamamoto Ryuichi was more familiar with the terrain and surroundings.
Rafas sat restlessly in the hotel, unable to comprehend how they could have vanished so suddenly. Even the satellite positioning from Shouya couldn't locate them. To evade satellite detection, they must be hiding in a very remote area, but that location wasn't particularly secluded. Could it be that they dug a tunnel to hide? Or perhaps Kogura had some powerful counter-surveillance system?
Just thinking about Kogura's gaze towards Wushuang made him feel an overwhelming urge to blow his head off. He wondered how Wushuang was doing now and if she had been hurt.
That scheming woman Smith Annie must be with Kogura. He remembered how she had used tricks to abduct Wushuang last time by sneaking into the castle this way. It seemed this plan was also hers. After the last incident, it was surprising that there were still problems; it looked like he needed to change his butler.
“Lefas, still thinking about today’s events?” Faisal approached him and noticed his furrowed brow, knowing he was still deep in thought.
“What? Aren't you worried about your little rabbit?” Seeing him appear so relaxed made Faisal wonder if he had figured something out.
“Worrying won’t help; we have no idea where that bastard has hidden her. However, I have a suggestion: we could send someone to investigate or see if there's something suspicious about that house?” Upon hearing this, Rafas's eyes lit up; he had the same thought.
Misa knew that Long Yi had temporarily made peace with Rafas for the sake of Wushuang. Watching Long Yi return from an outing with a heavy heart made her worry about him even more.
Long Yi locked himself in his room, contemplating the mystery of Kogura's sudden disappearance. Unless he could fly, burrow underground, or become invisible, how could he have vanished so suddenly?
Flying, burrowing, becoming invisible...
These words seemed to connect in his mind, and just then, the phone rang. It was Kogura!
"Yamamoto Brother, how have you been?" The voice on the other end sounded as if he were safe and not hiding at all.
"Kogura, what have you done with Wushuang? Tell me where you are; I want you to release her immediately!" Long Yi shouted, his agitation completely anticipated by Kogura.
A woman could control him like this; it seemed he had played his cards right.
"Yamamoto Brother, don't worry. I know how you feel about that woman. As the saying goes, one shouldn't covet a friend's wife. I'm a principled person; I won't touch your woman. However, I have conditions. Unless you agree to cooperate with me, otherwise..." He finally made his intentions clear. But Kogura was never a good person; facing someone like Wushuang right in front of him was hard to resist.
A fox is still a fox. Long Yi knew he wasn't that simple. If he didn't have a purpose, he wouldn't waste his effort poisoning Rafas at the banquet and then kidnapping Wushuang!
"Just say what you need to say directly; don't beat around the bush. We are old friends who have cooperated before. You helped me quite a bit in rebuilding the Yamaguchi-gumi!" Long Yi tried to appeal to their past relationship, hoping to extract Kogura's current location.
"Alright, since you've put it that way, I'll be straightforward. I know Rafas is currently in Japan, and his wife is in my hands. If we can work together to use that woman as leverage against him this time, he will suffer greatly. Then you can take your revenge and get your woman back from him, which would be the best outcome for both of us!"
Kogura was guiding Long Yi's hatred towards Rafas, and the two engaged in a secret conversation for a long time...
Rafas called in an expert to conduct a survey of the entire vacation home. The instruments scanned every corner, starting from the yard and moving indoors. Just as Rafas was furrowing his brow in concern, the instruments suddenly emitted a beeping red light.
"Did you find something?" Rafas anxiously rushed to the expert's side, looking at the device in his hand and asking urgently.
"Mr. Lei, I believe there is a large empty space beneath this area." The red light on the device indicated that the soil below was quite sparse, suggesting the possibility of a basement.
Hearing this, Rafas's eyes lit up, but what could be hidden in this small kitchen? If there was a basement, where would the entrance be?
The group searched the kitchen thoroughly, but it seemed they would need more time to locate the entrance.
Looking at the row of cabinets, Rafas wondered what to do. He approached and opened all the cabinets, finding them completely empty. After a careful inspection, he didn't discover anything particularly noteworthy.
Yamamoto Ryuichi arrived late and, seeing everyone rummaging around in the kitchen, curiously asked, "What's going on? What happened?"
"Why did you arrive so late? The instruments detected that there should be an empty space below, so I think there must be a secret room down there. Kogura must be hiding in it!" Rafas replied, his eyes fixed on the vacant cabinets. He felt that one of them could serve as an entrance to the secret room, but how could it be opened?
Yamamoto Ryuichi joined him and crouched down to inspect alongside him, agreeing with his assessment while searching for any switches that might open the secret room.
"Typically, switches for hidden passages are quite obvious but also designed to go unnoticed," Geologist, who had been standing nearby, kindly reminded them.
Faisal was also carefully observing the kitchen's layout. Standing up, Rafas pondered over the expert's words: something that was obvious yet hard to notice? What could it possibly be?
