"Baby, I'm sorry. I know that saying anything or doing anything now doesn't mean a thing, but don't you already have Snowball? Please don't be sad anymore, okay?" He stepped forward, wanting to pull her back into his embrace, but she deliberately took a step back, avoiding his hug.
Rafas frowned in displeasure. She was throwing a little tantrum again, but he had to admit that her tears had a significant impact on him, making his heart ache just by looking at her.
Not giving her a chance to escape, Rafas tightly wrapped her in his arms and gently kissed her forehead, whispering softly, "Baby, I was too impulsive before. But that time, you really drove me crazy. After my body recovered, I went to the lake to cool off at midnight because I truly care about your well-being. That's why I lost my temper. I'm sorry..."
When had Rafas ever apologized to anyone? Aside from Yan Wushuang, he had never seen anyone else capable of making him do so.
Yan Wushuang leaned her head against him, her body trembling from sobs. In her arms was Snowball, who looked innocently up at them. Its owner was crying; could it be because of it?
"Lefas, sometimes I really hate you, but right now, I can't bring myself to hate you. What should I do..." She had calmed down and was speaking softly in his embrace.
"Since you can't hate me, let's turn it into love!" Rafas said lightly. He could tell that after returning from their honeymoon trip, although Wushuang no longer rejected his touch or defied him, he still understood how she felt deep down.
There was always a thorn in her heart, an obstacle that disturbed her thoughts. He understood her feelings well; throughout their journey together, he promised that he had indeed hurt Wushuang deeply... very deeply...
"Rafas, how can you say it so easily? Just love when you say love and hate when you say hate...?" Wushuang clearly disagreed with his words. Her lips curled up slightly in defiance as she turned her face away to avoid his gaze.
"Alright, alright, I won't argue with you anymore. How about we go out for dinner tonight and take a stroll?" Knowing she loved going out, he said this intentionally to win her over.
Yan Wushuang glanced at him sideways, unsure of what he was planning again. However, the idea of going out was something she couldn't resist.
Seeing the glimmer of excitement in her eyes, Rafas knew this tactic would work on her. He wrapped his arm around her and quickly left the garden; of course, he needed to pick out the most beautiful outfit for his lovely wife...
Yan Wushuang stood foolishly in front of the mirror as he selected clothes for her—something sexy yet elegant. After much deliberation, she finally pushed him away and glanced at the clothes hanging in the wardrobe before choosing a knee-length light blue dress. She styled her long hair neatly behind her and applied a bit of light makeup along with some lip gloss before appearing before him looking vibrant.
Indeed, she was the woman Rafas had chosen—so beautiful that it was hard to find any flaws. Her fair skin contrasted beautifully with the light blue dress, making her look delicate like a peeled egg—white, tender, and smooth...
"My Mrs. Lei, are we ready to go now?" He made a gentlemanly gesture for her to link arms with him.
As he wished, Yan Wushuang linked her arm with his and got into the car with him. Looking out at the rapidly passing scenery outside the window, she wondered where he intended to take her.
Rafas disliked being disturbed by others; tonight at the top floor of the Hartland International Building, only they would be dining at the Rotating Restaurant. Yan Wushuang didn't need to ask him too many questions; she knew he must have reserved the entire place for them.
The melodious sound of the piano gradually filled the air. Everything here tonight was prepared just for them. This was a famous Rotating Restaurant in Las Vegas. Sitting inside the restaurant and looking outside, one could indeed see the scenery below rotating; however, while seated, there was no sensation of movement at all. Perhaps this was what made the Rotating Restaurant so popular.
Raising her crystal wine glass, perhaps due to a bit of excitement from being at the Rotating Restaurant tonight, she downed the red wine in one gulp. Overwhelmed by the alcohol, after a few glasses, she began to feel a bit dizzy. The blush on her cheeks deepened slightly due to the alcohol, making Rafas, who sat across from her, feel his heart flutter just by looking at her.
He moved his chair closer and sat beside her, allowing her slightly tipsy self to lean on his shoulder as he said, "Baby, you're drunk..."
"Really? But this feeling of being drunk is quite nice," she replied, nestled in his embrace, gazing at the flowing scenery outside the restaurant. For some reason, she seemed to have forgotten about her earlier unhappiness and was lost in the brilliance of the night.
Rafas smirked lightly, thinking she was a little fool. His moist lips pressed against her cheek. Yan Wushuang turned to look at him; their eyes met as they quietly waited for each other...
Her dreamy eyes held a hint of intoxication, and their breaths mingled on each other's cheeks. Rafas became increasingly entranced by her sparkling gaze and slowly lowered his head to cover her soft, moist lips.
"Mm..." Their lips met, mingling with the sweet aroma of wine, causing Rafas to feel as if he could barely control himself. Just as his large hand was about to touch her delicate body, a commotion erupted from outside the door.
Last time it was that kid Charlie who interrupted them; who could it be this time?
A stunningly dressed woman with an alluring charm rushed into the restaurant. No matter how the staff tried to stop her, they could not prevent her from entering.
"Lefas... So it really is you here? I thought who had the ability to book an entire restaurant, leaving me with nowhere to have dinner tonight." The seductive woman’s eyes sparkled when she saw Rafas; she hadn’t expected to encounter him here today.
Rafas looked at this woman who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere and boldly called his name without his permission before sitting beside him. Did she not know who he was?
Seeing him look at her as if she were an alien made it clear that he didn’t remember her. She immediately leaned closer with a charming smile and introduced herself: "I'm Clooney Shelly; Count Roxburgh is my grandfather. Last year when you came to talk business with my grandfather, did you forget everything that happened that night? I remember it all."
Hearing this, Rafas felt Yan Wushuang in his arms suddenly tense up and immediately sent a signal to the woman in front of him: "Hello, Miss Shirley. I'm a busy man and have forgotten things from long ago. I apologize; I'm currently dining with my wife. Shouldn't you be having dinner too?"
His words were already quite clear as a dismissal; however, after glancing at the slightly tipsy Yan Wushuang, the woman boldly leaned closer and softly said, "Lefas, it's been so long since you came to find me; do you know how much I've missed you?"
The woman flirtatiously attempted to hook her arm around his; however, with Yan Wushuang deliberately pretending to be drunk in his embrace, she found no opportunity.
Yan Wushuang initially felt only a slight dizziness but pretended to be drunk after this woman entered. Comfortably leaning against Rafas's chest, she thought this woman was being too much! In anger, she pinched Rafas's other arm hard.
Rafas understood her little gesture well and tightened his hold on her while glaring at Miss Shirley in front of him: "I’m very sorry; I think you didn’t hear what I just said clearly? I'm dining with my wife right now; shouldn’t you be leaving? I've booked this restaurant for tonight and do not wish for any outsiders to disturb us."
After speaking, Rafas waved to the manager standing not far away, signaling him to immediately escort the woman out.
Despite the detailed explanation, she seemed unwilling to give up and continued to speak directly beside him, "Lefas, your wife is already drunk. Let me take care of you tonight."
Yan Wushuang had never encountered such a shameless woman before; she could say such things in front of someone else. If they hadn't had a past relationship, this woman definitely wouldn't dare to speak to him like that.
The restaurant manager had just approached her from behind. Rafas didn't want to be too harsh in front of Yan Wushuang and was about to ask her to leave when Yan Wushuang suddenly stood up from his embrace, looking sorrowful and disappointed. With red-rimmed eyes, she glanced at Rafas and ran towards the door!
"Shuang'er..." Rafas called out anxiously, but Yan Wushuang didn't want to hear his explanation.
Seeing that the legitimate wife had finally been angered away, the woman thought she would have a chance tonight. However, Rafas's brows furrowed tightly, and an expression of anger replaced his face as he raised his hand and slapped her hard... slap...
"I warn you, don't think that just because we slept together once I owe you anything. If anything happens to my wife tonight, your entire family will be disgraced because of your foolishness!" He meant what he said; after throwing down those words, he rushed out to chase after Yan Wushuang.
Yan Wushuang couldn't stand what that woman had said. She knew that at the time she spoke those words, she probably hadn't even come into this world yet. Any woman hearing that would feel extremely uncomfortable!
The elevator descended rapidly. Once it reached the first floor, she stepped out alone. In those few seconds in the elevator, she had adjusted her mindset; there was no need to get angry with that woman as it would only make her feel worse!
Rafas also rushed out immediately and saw Wushuang just a few meters away. He hurried over to catch up with her and pulled her into his embrace.
"Baby, don't be angry. Who that woman is, I really don't remember." He didn't deny having had something with her but mentioned that there were too many women he had been involved with. If she hadn't brought up her grandfather, he truly wouldn't know where this crazy woman had come from.
