Outside the delivery room, Yamamoto Ryuichi anxiously waited. Misa had been taken into the delivery room for over an hour, and despite the numerous doctors and nurses who had gone in, there was still no news!
He paced back and forth in the hallway, unable to sit still, worried about the safety of both mother and child.
Another hour passed... Finally, the door to the delivery room opened, and a nurse with a smile ran up to him. "Congratulations, Mr. Yamamoto! Mother and child are safe!"
Upon hearing this, Yamamoto Ryuichi's previously tense demeanor melted away like spring water.
"Mr. Yamamoto, although Mrs. Yamamoto and the baby are currently fine, the child is considered a premature baby and is weaker than a full-term infant in various aspects. Therefore, we recommend keeping the baby in the incubator for observation for a week. If there are no complications after that week, the baby can be discharged!" the nurse explained.
"Alright, we'll do as you suggest. As long as my wife and baby are safe, money is not an issue!" he replied. Just then, the delivery room door swung wide open, revealing Misa lying weakly on the bed as medical staff wheeled her out.
Yamamoto Ryuichi rushed over. The doctor carefully opened his coat to show him the baby—a lovely little boy.
"Mr. Yamamoto, we need to take the baby to the incubator for observation first. You can come back to see him later!" the doctor reminded him, noticing his joyful expression.
Yamamoto Ryuichi nodded and let the doctor take care of the baby while he stayed by Misa's side.
Misa had fainted after giving birth and was now resting quietly in her hospital room. Watching her peaceful sleeping face filled Long Yi with immense excitement; he was grateful for her efforts in bringing their child safely into this wonderful world.
Time passed quickly; it felt like water flowing by—no exaggeration. During this time, everything seemed to take a turn for the better!
The news of Misa's premature birth reached Yan Wushuang, who sincerely wished them well. She also heard that the general had named their newborn "Yamamoto Motokichi."
With Yuanji's birth, Yan Wushuang's belly grew larger day by day. Being pregnant with twins made her movements increasingly clumsy. Rafas took on his role as a good husband and soon-to-be father seriously; he not only focused on learning more about pregnancy but also memorized thick books on the subject thoroughly. He even personally selected suitable food ingredients for both pregnant women and babies, showing such patience and professionalism that even parenting experts were impressed.
Monica's employees often marveled at how their most dedicated president couldn't wait to leave his office at quitting time. He would decline various social engagements and carry home professionally selected foods like a typical family man.
Seeing his transformation brought a big smile to Yan Wushuang's face every day; feelings of sweetness and happiness radiated from her.
"Darling, I need to go to England in a few days for about a week. This trip is mainly to finalize that project's last proposal. Once that's settled, I'll have plenty of time to spend with you and our baby in the coming months!" He gently kissed her forehead and embraced her lovingly.
"Go ahead without worry; I'll be waiting for you at home. But please don't forget your promise about not reading while you're away! The baby is due next month, and we really need you..." Yan Wushuang looked at him reluctantly; she would miss him terribly during that week apart.
Rafas gently reached out to stroke her hair, looking at her with affection. "Don't worry, I'll be back from England in a week at most. When I return, I'll personally arrange the surgery for next month. You don't need to be nervous; I'm here for everything. Shouya has already come back, and while I'm not by your side these days, he will take care of you. If you feel uncomfortable, make sure to tell him. Don't force yourself or hold it in, okay?"
He had arranged everything, which made Yan Wushuang feel increasingly heavy-hearted. She sniffled, and her eyes began to redden.
"You're not leaving forever, so why do you have to explain everything so carefully?" Yan Wushuang pulled him closer by his neck, pressing his cheek against hers.
Seeing her worry for him made Rafas very happy and sweet inside. He never expected that the woman who once dreamed of killing him would now be concerned about him and bear his children.
"Fool, why are you crying? Don't forget that our every move can be felt by the baby. Just think about how they would feel if they knew Mommy was crying," Rafas said as he held her. If it weren't for the urgent matters in England, he wouldn't have the heart to leave her alone.
The most important people to Yan Wushuang now were him and the baby. She instinctively touched her rounded belly. She couldn't cry; she mustn't cry. How could she let the baby feel that Mommy was crying?
Wiping away her tears, she buried her face in his arms with a smile, inhaling his familiar scent.
Shouya had been missing for over half a year, along with An Xin Ya. This time he returned suddenly, of course bringing An Xin Ya back with him. When An Xin Ya reappeared before Yan Wushuang's eyes, both of them were moved to tears.
"Wushuang, I can finally see you! You're even more beautiful than I imagined," An Xin Ya said. She had been taken to a research center in New York for treatment by Shouya and had been gone for over half a year. Grandma An was also being cared for by someone Shouya sent. For the past six months, she had been receiving treatment and finally recovered enough to come home last month.
Yan Wushuang looked at the revitalized Xinya. Perhaps because she could see again, her eyes sparkled even more than before. Although she seemed thinner than before, it did not diminish her beauty at all.
"Xinya, seeing you healthy again makes me so happy! From the day you went missing, I knew you must have been taken away by Brother Shouya. As expected, you're back safe and sound!" Seeing her friend regain her sight brought Yan Wushuang immense joy.
The two excitedly embraced each other, causing the two men nearby to smile happily as well. Rafas watched Shouya's unwavering gaze on that woman; it seemed they would soon achieve their own happy ending.
"You little rascal, let them talk alone for a bit; come with me!" Rafas patted him on the shoulder, clearly wanting to discuss something important.
"What exactly are you going to England for? It can't be just about the land acquisition project, right? As far as I know, Monica has been handling that project smoothly; there's no reason for you to go personally," Shouya replied. Although he had spent most of his time in the lab recently, he still kept an eye on matters concerning Monica and Solomon.
Rafas led him into the garden, hands in his pockets as he gazed into the distance and said, "You're right about the Land Acquisition Project. My trip to England is mainly about Morina and Halsen Group. Since Tony Smith took over Halsen Group just over half a year ago, he's managed to run it into chaos. All projects have suffered huge losses during this time, and many shareholders have begun selling off their shares. I've anonymously purchased all those shares they sold."
Hearing this, Shouya realized what Rafas was planning: he intended to swallow Halsen Group whole and dominate the market in England!
"What do you want me to do? If it's to take care of Yan Wushuang, then don't worry, I will definitely deliver a perfectly fine Yan Wushuang to you. Are you satisfied?" He knew that Lefas had this in mind.
"You brat, at least you know what's good for you! But you must pay close attention to every move Wushuang makes; she is carrying twins. If anything goes wrong, I won't let you off the hook when I return!" Rafas also forgot to leave him with a few harsh words.
Although he wasn't by Yan Wushuang's side, he still thought about her and the children constantly.
It had only been half a year since they last met, but Rafas's transformation left Shouya astonished. He knew Rafas cared for Wushuang, but it seemed he had fallen deeply in love with her. He wondered if the other soon-to-be father, Faisal, had changed in the same way.
Thinking about this, both of his good friends were about to become fathers, while he was just starting out. It seemed he needed to put in more effort with Xinya!
Two days later, Rafas flew to Las Vegas as scheduled. To conveniently care for her around the clock during these days, Shouya packed a few sets of clothes and moved into the guest room.
Xinya had been missing for half a year and naturally wanted to spend more time with her grandmother upon returning. However, Shouya insisted she come over, which almost led to a big argument between them. In the end, it was Wushuang who played peacemaker and brought Grandma An over to stay for a few days as a way to relax and enjoy a vacation.
Listening to Yan Wushuang talk about the current situation eased Rafas's mind significantly. With An Xin Ya and her grandmother visiting at home, at least someone would be there all day to keep her company. He feared most that she would lock herself in her room alone and zone out; when people get too bored, they can easily fall ill, especially in this spring season when everything comes back to life!
In England, Morina had been eagerly waiting for him to arrive. He had already taken care of all matters; their cooperation was simply for mutual profit. As long as Tony Smith fell from power, Halson would directly fall into Rafas's hands. Then Andrei would no longer have Anna's backing, putting him at a disadvantage in every way. The heir of the British Royal Family wouldn't belong to anyone but Morina.
"Lefas, everything you asked me to handle has been taken care of. The shares were transferred as soon as you entered British territory; the documents have already been signed. Here they are; take a look." He handed over the documents with an air of nonchalance.
Earlier, Rafas had asked him to forge someone's name to acquire shares of Helsin Consortium. As one of the shareholders, if Rafas made a large-scale acquisition of company stocks openly, it would surely raise Tony's suspicions.
