Yan Wushuang has finally cleared her name, but the real culprit remains unknown. However, Aisin Gioro Yao Ri is very interested in this case and is eager to learn more about this woman.
“Mr. Aisin Gioro Yao Ri, thank you so much for helping me clear my name!” In the study, Yan Wushuang suddenly entered with some snacks in her hands.
Seeing her sudden arrival, Rafas hurried over to help her place the items on the tea table. The previous broken tea table had already been removed, replaced by a brand new crystal tea table.
“Mrs. Lei, you are too polite. Actually, I have known Lefas for several years now. Generally speaking, I have a special affinity for men who are as cold as ice and have a name that includes the character 'Si'!” Aisin Gioro Yao Ri glanced at Rafas and suddenly thought of her friend Hoxius back in Taiwan.
“Oh, so you’ve known each other for a long time? Lefas, why didn’t you ever tell me?” Yan Wushuang sat beside him, tightly embraced in his arms.
Rafas knew that when she mentioned cold men, she was definitely referring to Hoxius. He held Wushuang close and smiled slightly: “I’ll tell you more gradually. If there’s an opportunity, I’ll take you to Taiwan for a visit and let you meet that man whom Aisin Gioro Yao Ri mentioned, who is as cold as ice just like me!”
Yan Wushuang looked at them curiously; she thought Lefas was already very cold—was there really another man who could match him?
Seeing his Little Woman's curiosity, Rafas casually remarked: “That guy grew up in a wolf pack, raised by a mother wolf. What kind of man do you think he would become?”
This was getting more absurd; Yan Wushuang was completely lost by what they were saying.
“Lefas, are you kidding me? How is it possible for a human child to grow up in a wolf pack and be raised by a mother wolf? Please don’t make fun of me!” Yan Wushuang firmly rebutted him.
Rafas and Aisin Gioro Yao Ri exchanged amused glances and took a sip of red wine...
“Wushuang, may I call you that? Always addressing you as Mrs. Lei feels so distant!” Aisin Gioro Yao Ri set down his crystal wine glass and leaned back on the sofa, smiling as he asked her.
Now realizing that he and Lefas had known each other for quite some time, Yan Wushuang graciously returned his smile: “Of course!”
With her permission, Aisin Gioro Yao Ri continued from Rafas's earlier comment: “Wushuang, Lefas isn’t joking; that guy really did grow up in a wolf pack. He was discovered in the mountains at the age of eight and brought back to human society!”
Hearing this directly from Aisin Gioro Yao Ri made Yan Wushuang fully believe it at that moment. However, she truly couldn’t imagine how such a small child could survive in a wolf pack—what kind of bloody food did he eat? What did he wear? Did he walk on all fours like a wolf?
“Never mind; please stop talking about it. Although I’m very curious, thinking about such a child makes me feel uneasy!” Leaning against Rafas’s shoulder reminded her of her own child.
Rafas held her, calming her previously restless heart.
Aisin Gioro Yao Ri chuckled lightly and added, "Wushuang, don't feel sad for that man. As for his methods, he is no less capable than Lefas!"
Yan Wushuang glanced at Rafas and murmured, "What a terrifying man!"
After saying that, she stood up and pushed the snacks that had just been brought in to Aisin Gioro Yao Ri. Thanks to his help, she had cleared her name.
Suddenly, Yan Wushuang inadvertently noticed the photos they had left on the coffee table. These photos were taken by the hospital's surveillance camera of the woman. Aisin Gioro Yao Ri had enlarged and developed them, intending to show them to her.
Seeing her lost in thought, Rafas curiously pulled her back into his embrace. Yan Wushuang took the opportunity to pick up a few photos from the coffee table, and a figure began to vaguely emerge in her mind...
"Shuang'er, did you think of someone? The woman in the photo switched the soup bag taken by the maid for cleaning. She was also the last person to enter Annie Smith's hospital room before she died, so she is very likely the murderer!" Rafas observed her expression and sensed she was recalling something.
Aisin Gioro Yao Ri was also intently focused on her. If she could recognize who the woman in the photo was, they could leave immediately and bring her back for questioning.
Yan Wushuang compared the photos with what was in her mind, especially one taken from the side that looked very similar. However, thinking practically, she shook her head and said, "This side profile looks very much like her, but there's no way she would come to Las Vegas to commit murder and frame me. Absolutely impossible!"
"Who could it be...?" Rafas asked urgently.
Yan Wushuang looked at the two men present and uneasily said, "Miss Misa..."
"Yamamoto Misa?" Rafas murmured as he took the photo from Wushuang's hand, recalling her somewhat blurry appearance. It did resemble her; why hadn't he thought of it before?
"But Lefas, Misa is in Japan. More importantly, she is the general's wife; the general would never treat me this way!" Yan Wushuang did not believe Misa could be the murderer. In her eyes, Miss Misa was a kind and gentle woman.
Rafas watched Wushuang desperately defending Yamamoto Misa and realized he should have thought of her sooner. He had previously focused all his attention on Yamamoto Ryuichi and had overlooked this woman.
Aisin Gioro Yao Ri sat quietly on the side; he was not unfamiliar with the name Yamamoto Misa. She was the only daughter of Yamamoto Kazuo, the former leader of the Yamaguchi-gumi, and now she was Ryuichi's wife. They had a baby boy who tragically passed away shortly after birth due to complications from being premature.
"Wushuang, regardless of whether the woman in the photo is her or not, we must investigate her direction!"
Although Aisin Gioro Yao Ri had never seen this woman, he was well aware of last year's incident involving Solomon and the Yamaguchi-gumi. Yamamoto Kazuo was assassinated by Lefas's orders, and he believed that Yamamoto Misa definitely had a motive for murder.
Yan Wushuang remained silent, feeling powerless as Rafas held her in his arms. She did not believe that Miss Misa could be the murderer, nor did she think Miss Misa would frame her.
The focus shifted to Japan, and Rafas secretly sent someone to investigate Yamamoto Misa. Soon, news came back from Japan confirming that Yamamoto Misa indeed had issues!
She first went to Berlin and then secretly transferred to Las Vegas. What could be the reason for her mysterious arrival in Las Vegas? Wouldn't it raise suspicions?
In the large office, Rafas looked out at the bustling scene before turning back to his desk. He picked up the phone and dialed an international long-distance number...
"May I ask who is calling?" After a few beeps, a man's voice came through to Rafas.
"Yamamoto Ryuichi, long time no see!" Rafas smirked slightly, twitching his lips.
He did not expect Ryuichi to call him; this caught Long Yi off guard. However, considering Misa's actions, it was entirely predictable that he would call.
"What’s the matter? Just get to the point," Ryuichi said as he awaited Rafas's words.
"Alright, I won't beat around the bush. Let's talk about Yamamoto Misa," Rafas stated. He could clearly sense Ryuichi on the other end let out a sigh.
"What do you want? Just say it." Ryuichi had been feeling conflicted about Misa's actions regarding Wushuang over the past few days. He didn't know how to help Misa without putting Wushuang in danger.
From Rafas's tone, it seemed he already knew about Yamamoto Misa's actions. He understood Ryuichi's current dilemma—on one side was his wife, and on the other was a woman he once loved deeply. He didn't know whom to choose.
"It seems you already know what I want to say. You are aware of the truth behind Yamamoto Misa poisoning Annie Smith, right? This incident has escalated so much that even the British Royal Family has intervened, vowing to find the murderer. What do you think about this?" Rafas continued to present this dilemma for Ryuichi to choose whom he would side with.
Yamamoto Ryuichi remained silent for a moment before finally responding: "If possible, I would rather take her place and collect all the mistakes she has made!"
Rafas could only describe this man as a coward upon hearing his response.
"Yamamoto Ryuichi, even if you help her get away with it this time, what about next time? Can you guarantee that woman won't do something like this again?" Rafas questioned him repeatedly. A person who has done this once will definitely do it a second time, and he still thought about covering for her—insane.
Rafas would absolutely not allow such a thing to happen, nor could he let her existence threaten Shuang'er and the two children. If this man insisted on protecting Yamamoto Misa, he would have no choice but to hand the matter over to the police.
"Rafas, don't speak so lightly. You haven't been in my shoes, so you have no right to criticize me!" Long Yi shouted angrily before hanging up the phone.
On the other end of the line, Rafas sneered at his words. It was indeed true; he had not been in that situation and would never have such things happen to him because Shuang'er was so kind and beautiful, she could never do something as malicious as poisoning and framing someone.
Since he was determined to protect Yamamoto Misa, Rafas would no longer consider anyone else. For Wushuang's safety, Yamamoto Misa had to die!
Long Yi's expression grew increasingly grim as he quickly left the club and returned to the Yamamoto Family. Misa was holding Yuan Xiu in her arms, seemingly trying to lull him to sleep. He felt it inappropriate to disturb her and waited quietly outside the door.
"Do you seem to have something urgent to discuss with me?" After a long while, Misa finally got Yuan Xiu to sleep and stepped outside to ask him.
"Rafas called. What do you want me to do?" He looked up at the evening glow in the sky; this time, he truly felt powerless.
"The inevitable has finally come; I have failed," Misa said calmly, perhaps she had already made plans.
Faced with her calmness, Yamamoto Ryuichi's heart grew more chaotic. Why had things escalated to this point? He genuinely wanted their family of three to live happily together, but why did it seem that they were destined to be torn apart?
