An Xinya told Grandma that Yan Wushuang had an argument with her family and now had nowhere to go, wanting to stay at their house for a few days. She then sought Grandma's opinion.
Grandma An naturally had no objections and warmly welcomed Yan Wushuang to stay, considering it an honor for their family. However, thinking about the argument with her family, she realized that Wushuang must have left in a fit of anger. No matter what, they couldn't let her family worry about her and frantically search for her. She then turned and went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
Hearing that Grandma had no objections made An Xinya extremely happy. She took Wushuang's hand and led her into her room to show her around, saying, "Wushuang, now that my grandma has agreed, you can stay here peacefully for a while. As for why you left home, whenever you're ready to tell me, I will be your best listener!"
"Um... thank you, Xinya!" Wushuang tightly grasped her hand. If she hadn't accidentally bumped into Xinya earlier, she wouldn't have known where else she could go.
An Xinya turned around, tidying up her bed while saying to Wushuang, "My bed isn't very big, but it's enough for both of us to sleep on."
Yan Wushuang looked at An Xinya's back and then at the space in her room, which could only fit one bed. However, the bed was quite spacious. She smiled and said, "It's enough. Actually, I'm quite slender, so sharing a bed isn't bad; we can whisper secrets to each other..."
"Hehe... that's true!" An Xinya laughed. It was rare for her to run into Yan Wushuang and have her stay at her house; she felt incredibly happy and would take good care of Wushuang.
The two chatted casually in the room for a while, filled with laughter.
At that moment, Grandma An walked in and saw them having such a good time; a smile appeared on her face as she said to them, "Stop chatting and come out for breakfast!"
"Okay, Grandma!"
Yan Wushuang helped the visually impaired An Xinya out of the room, and they sat down at the dining table.
An Xinya smelled something delicious in the air; she immediately recognized it as shredded pork noodles, her favorite dish that Grandma often made for her.
"Wushuang, this is shredded pork noodles; it's really delicious. Come try some," An Xinya said as she carefully picked up chopsticks and added some noodles to Wushuang's bowl.
"Um, Xinya, let me do it!" Considering An Xinya's eyesight issues, Wushuang quickly stopped her.
At that moment, Grandma An came out of the kitchen with a beaming smile and said to Yan Wushuang, "Wushuang, don't be polite; eat more and treat this place like your own home."
Yan Wushuang looked at Grandma An and felt a warm sensation in her heart. She smiled back gently and softly replied with an "mm," elegantly starting to eat the shredded pork noodles. Although they were delicious, she currently had no appetite. Meanwhile, Grandma An kept urging her to eat more and continuously filled her bowl with noodles. As a guest who understood manners and etiquette, she forced herself to finish it in front of Grandma An.
After finishing her meal, Wushuang couldn't help but praise Grandma An for the delicious shredded meat noodles. She told An Xin Ya that she envied her for being able to eat such wonderful food made by her grandmother.
This made Grandma An chuckle, and she told Wushuang that if she liked it, she should come over more often to visit.
An Xin Ya, with a sweet smile on her face, could tell that Grandma An genuinely liked Wushuang. No matter who it was, everyone liked her because she was so kind and gentle. Brother Shouya had mentioned that Wushuang was beautiful, like a fairy, pure and lovely, which made her likable to everyone.
At that moment, the doorbell suddenly rang, causing Yan Wushuang's heart to flutter slightly.
An Xin Ya could hear the urgency in the ring. She said to Wushuang, "I'll go answer the door." She got up and skillfully walked along the wall to the door, softly asking who was outside. When she heard Shouya's voice from outside, she felt relieved and hurriedly opened the door. The first thing he asked upon entering was, "Wushuang, is she at your place?"
Xinya was momentarily stunned; she had never told Brother Shouya that Wushuang was at her house. How did he know? But she had to nod and admit that Wushuang was indeed there.
Even if Xinya was hiding something, Shouya wouldn't say anything about it. He walked in and saw Wushuang's Snowball inside. Since Snowball was at Xinya's house, it meant Wushuang was there too. He hugged Snowball and walked further in to see Wushuang sitting in the room.
Wushuang wasn't too surprised; considering Brother Shouya's relationship with An Xin Ya, it wasn't unusual for her to be there. She stood up obediently and said, "Brother Shouya, you’re here."
Grandma An, who had been tidying up the dishes in the kitchen, came out when she saw Shouya arrive. Shouya smiled and greeted her. Grandma An left them three to chat while she returned to the kitchen to clean up.
Shouya sat down with one arm around Snowball and held Xinya's hand with the other before handing Snowball back to Wushuang.
Sitting quietly beside them, An Xin Ya listened to the conversation between Brother Shouya and Wushuang. She heard Brother Shouya say to Wushuang, "I already know about your situation with Lefas. You can't blame him entirely; that incident really hurt all of us, especially Lefas!"
Wushuang didn't want to hear this; she knew Shouya was here just to speak on Lefas's behalf and take her back.
Brother Shouya continued, saying he understood that Wushuang agreed to marry Lefas out of necessity. She accepted him but struggled internally. If it weren't for Lefas having already claimed her body, she would have chosen Yamamoto Ryuichi instead... He also mentioned that on the wedding day, seeing her expression change made him realize she had made a decision deep down and was prepared to accept Lefas. That day, she resolutely severed all ties with Yamamoto Ryuichi’s feelings and started anew wholeheartedly.
Yamamoto Ryuichi? Who was he? Was he her ex-boyfriend? Why did Shouya understand Wushuang's feelings so well? Quietly pondering this in her heart, An Xin Ya found their relationship complex and realized how much suffering and hardship Wushuang had endured.
But as the conversation progressed, Wushuang's emotions began to escalate. Unable to hold back any longer, tears streamed down her face as she cried out many things—how she had started to accept Lefas but questioned why he still deceived her. She lamented how Lefas treated her as someone else's substitute from the very beginning, constantly tormenting and retaliating against her; everything felt like a lie...
Hearing the cries, An Xin Ya felt a deep sadness that tugged at her heart. She got up and groped her way to sit beside her, handing her a tissue and gently supporting her trembling shoulders to offer comfort.
Meanwhile, Brother Shouya furrowed his brows, standing up for Lefas, hoping Wushuang would not misunderstand him any further.
No matter what he said, Wushuang refused to forgive Lefas.
At that moment, the sound of a phone ringing broke the tense atmosphere.
An Xin Ya frowned slightly as the ringing continued for a long time, and Brother Shouya did not answer it. It must be Lefas calling Wushuang's husband!
At this point, Wushuang stood up, feeling mentally and physically exhausted. She told Xinya and the others that she was tired and needed to rest, asking them to take their time talking. After saying that, she walked into the room.
An Xin Ya nodded in agreement, thinking that Wushuang needed some time to calm down and reflect. If she talked too much with her now, it would only make her emotional.
Once Wushuang returned to the room, Brother Shouya answered the call. An Xin Ya vaguely heard Rafas's anxious voice coming through the phone.
Shouya then relayed everything Wushuang had said to him directly to Rafas.
After ending the call, Shouya let out a deep sigh of relief. Thankfully, he had not faced any reprimand from Lefas. However, it was clear that he genuinely cared about Wushuang and was concerned about her feelings. He had never seen him show such deep affection for a girl before.
The issues between the couple should be resolved by them; as an outsider, he could help as much as possible.
Shouya turned to look at An Xin Ya, who had been silent beside him. He smiled slightly and asked, "Wushuang, how did you know your family was here?"
He remembered that An Xin Ya and Wushuang had only met once; he was unsure if Xinya had told Wushuang that she lived in this town.
"This morning, I helped my grandmother downstairs to buy breakfast when someone bumped into me. I heard the voice and thought it sounded familiar. After thinking for a moment, I realized it was Wushuang's voice. After asking a few questions, it really was her. I don’t know how she got to this town; maybe she ran away from home and ended up here by chance!" An Xin Ya had to admit this was fate; it showed that she and Wushuang were truly connected.
Not hearing Shouya's response, An Xin Ya suddenly seemed to remember something and asked, "Brother Shouya, can I ask you a question?"
"What’s the problem? Go ahead and ask!" Shouya said softly, his eyes shining with a watery light as he looked at An Xin Ya.
"Who is Yamamoto Ryuichi? Is he Wushuang's ex-boyfriend?"
"Yes, that's right," General Longze, who was hanging around Wushuang, replied.
Seeing that Wushuang didn't want to see Lefas and was still sulking, he decided to let her stay at An Xin Ya's house for the time being. Since Xinya's eyes were not in good condition, having Wushuang there meant the two girls could take care of each other, which put him at ease.
In the following three days, Shouya diligently came to An Xin Ya's house every day, bringing several nutritious and delicious breakfasts.
Shouya was ordered by Rafas to take care of Yan Wushuang. Besides visiting Yan Wushuang, his main reason for coming was to see An Xin Ya, as she had to return to Maria Music Training Class to practice the piano during these days.
One day, when An Xin Ya was not home, he couldn't contain his feelings and suddenly asked Wushuang a strange question about what day it was today.
Wushuang grew suspicious and kept asking him questions. He had promised Lefas not to tell Wushuang about his surgery, so he remained silent and did not disclose anything.
Every day, he had to call Rafas to report on his wife's condition.
Three days later, An Xin Ya's keen hearing sensed that Wushuang had been suffering from insomnia lately. She knew very well that Wushuang was thinking about Lefas. Although she claimed she would never forgive him, deep down she still loved him and couldn't bear to leave him. Whenever there was no news from him or if he didn’t call her, her heart would start to feel anxious.
Wushuang suddenly asked her how she should choose—should she leave here or what?
