When Shouya finished his shower and stepped out, the room was so quiet that only his steady, sweet breathing could be heard. He stood at the door for a moment, then walked into the guest room with an expression as usual, pulling the door shut behind him. His bare upper body glistened, with only a white towel casually tied around his waist. His short hair was slightly messy from just being washed, and droplets of water still clung to the tips, falling onto his solid, slightly wheat-colored chest, stirring up a sense of allure. 0

Shouya approached and sat beside An Xin Ya, his fingers gliding over her smooth, delicate skin until they stopped near her lips. 0

She had actually fallen asleep, but he couldn't resist the temptation she radiated. Slowly leaning down, he gently kissed her lips, lightly sucking on them. The fresh sweetness at her entrance was irresistible, drawing him deeper into the kiss. 0

It wasn't until the sleeping girl softly murmured that he finally pulled away from her lips, calmly looking at the now-awakened An Xin Ya. 0

An Xin Ya slightly opened her eyes. She felt his sweet breath; each inhale and exhale sent warm air onto her face, creating a ticklish sensation. The warmth he left on her lips made her heart race uncontrollably, and her face flushed hot. She shyly lowered her gaze and softly said, "Brother Shouya, you're done washing!" 0

"Yeah! Did I wake you?" Shouya asked softly as he looked at her. He simply couldn't resist her beauty and leaned in to kiss her again. 0

"No," An Xin Ya replied with a sweet yet bashful smile at the corners of her mouth. 0

Shouya reached out and unfastened her clothing, revealing her snow-white skin before him. 0

An Xin Ya felt extremely nervous; she clenched her hands tightly as her breathing quickened. Her face turned red all the way to her ears. 0

Leaning down, Shouya gently kissed her sweet lips, passionately sucking on the nectar within her mouth as their tongues intertwined. 0

This time, Shouya was not as clumsy as before; his movements were skilled and gentle. He was careful not to hurt Xinya with any roughness. 0

An Xin Ya held onto Shouya tightly, enveloped by a wonderful sensation that filled her completely; it didn't hurt as much this time. 0

However, in the end, Shouya still couldn't control his excitement. Breathing heavily with fervor, fine beads of sweat began to form on his body and dripped down from his nose. 0

Looking at the woman beneath him, frowning and tightly gripping the bedsheet, he knew clearly that he had hurt her. 0

With a low growl, Shouya released everything, then lay on top of her, kissing her and softly asking, "Xinya, does it hurt?" 0

An Xin Ya shook her head, breathing heavily as she stared at the ceiling. Her fingers lightly traced over his hot body while she listened to his heavy breaths and felt the warmth radiating from him. 0

The morning sunlight streamed into the room through the blue cotton curtains. 0

An Xin Ya woke up, slightly squinting her eyes. She heard the sound of water coming from the bathroom; Brother Shouya was taking a shower again. 0

They had fallen asleep in each other's arms, tightly embracing one another, listening to each other's breathing and heartbeats. Neither spoke a word as they quietly drifted off to sleep. 0

She recalled her time at the orphanage when she was six years old. The teachers would play games with them, tell stories, play hide and seek, sing and dance, and cook dumplings together. Every month and every day was filled with happiness. 0

And just like that, over a decade had passed. The only memories that lingered in her mind were those of the orphanage in Beijing, along with her Foster Parents and the days spent with her grandparents. Everything else faded into distant echoes in her ears. 0

She got out of bed, feeling sore in her waist and back, especially in her legs. She didn't know why she couldn't stand steadily; fortunately, she quickly grabbed hold of the edge of the bed but accidentally knocked something off the bedside table, causing it to crash to the floor with a sharp sound. 0

Startled by the noise, An Xin Ya jumped. 0

In the bathroom, Shouya also heard the commotion and hurried out to find a broken vase on the floor. 0

"Brother Shouya, I'm sorry! I accidentally broke your thing again..." An Xin Ya said apologetically. 0

"It's okay." Shouya walked over and hugged her gently, asking softly, "It's just a vase; it's no big deal." 0

Shouya helped her sit down, then cleared the fragments on the floor. After that, he took Xinya into the bathroom to help her take a hot bath. 0

Feeling a bit awkward in such a bare situation, Xinya stood there hesitantly, allowing him to assist her with the washing. 0

Although they had been intimate before, this level of exposure still made An Xin Ya feel shy and flustered, her heart racing. 0

After the bath, Shouya took a towel to dry her off and then wrapped her in a bathrobe. He picked her up in his arms and carried her into the guest room, placing her gently on the bed. 0

An Xin Ya sat quietly on the bed, her eyes lowered, her face flushed like a blooming flower. She felt her heart pounding incessantly, and her palms were sweaty. 0

Shouya wanted to help her get dressed, but she refused. He didn’t insist any further and let her dress herself. 0

Once she was dressed, she fumbled into the bathroom to wash up. Before that, Shouya had already squeezed out toothpaste and placed it there, filling a cup with water as well. These little details made An Xin Ya feel that he was a considerate and thoughtful man. 0

She truly hoped her eyesight would recover soon. If she could see again, she would definitely take a good look at this man. 0

Everything was ready, and Shouya assisted her back to the medical center. The nurses were no longer frantically searching for her; once she was out of the ward, they knew Shouya had taken her out. 0

As they returned to the ward, a nurse approached him to inform him that Dr. Jiegana needed him in his office. 0

Upon arriving, he learned that Jagana was going to attend an International Conference, and the surgery would be postponed for five days. 0

Shouya returned to An Xin Ya's ward and informed her that Dr. Jiegana would be attending an International Conference, delaying the surgery by five days. He had no objections; although he was the lead surgeon for this operation, Jagana was also one of the main surgeons. Without him, the surgery could not proceed. He didn’t want to act recklessly like last time and disappoint Xinya again. 0

An Xin Ya remained silent; she had heard Shouya mention that the corneas were not compatible. She felt worried because she had been thinking that surgery would happen in these few days. Imagining that perhaps in a month she could see Shouya, Wian, and her grandmother again now felt pushed back by at least a week due to this delay. 0

Shouya furrowed his brows and reached out to hold her hand, telling her not to worry. 0

An Xin Ya smiled slightly and squeezed his hand back, saying, "I'm fine. Delaying for a day or two doesn't matter." 0

Shouya stayed by her side for a while, but then had to leave for work. 0

An Xin Ya asked the nurse to take her downstairs to see Wian. The nurse informed her that Wian was undergoing surgery today and could only be seen through the glass; visiting was not allowed. Although she couldn't see him, she still wanted to go to Wian's room and listen to the sounds inside. 0

The nurse, unable to refuse her, helped her to Wian's room. She stood outside the room, listening as the nurse spoke about Wian's condition, which was worsening. 0

Frowning with tears in her eyes, she suddenly heard a woman's crying not far away. She recalled that it was Wian's mother's voice, followed by hearing the doctor say, "It all depends on her willpower." 0

The doctor's tone sounded weary and helpless. 0

An Xin Ya stood outside Wian's room for a long time before asking the nurse to take her out to the courtyard, where there were echoes of laughter that belonged to Wian. She remembered every laugh and every word spoken by him clearly. 0

Sitting on a bench lost in thought, she suddenly reflected on many things: the orphanage in Beijing, her adoptive mother, grandfather, and grandmother... 0

After sitting there for a long time, fine rain began to fall from the sky, prompting the nurse to quickly help An Xin Ya back into the hospital. 0

Returning to the ward, it was eerily quiet. 0

Lately, she didn't know what was wrong; she feared loneliness and many other things, even fearing that if there was a second surgery, it might fail and she would never see again. 0

After finishing his work, Shouya entered the ward to check on An Xin Ya. He found her dazedly leaning against the hospital bed, lost in thought and unaware of his arrival. 0

"What are you thinking about?" Shouya walked in, sat by the bed, and looked at her gently as he asked softly. 0

However, An Xin Ya was still startled. Coming back to her senses, she heard Brother Shouya's voice, smiled lightly, and said, "It's you, Brother Shouya!" 0

"Yes!" An Xin Ya fell into a moment of silence again. Suddenly, she said, "Brother Shouya, I don't know why I'm so scared and nervous..." 0

"Oh, I understand. It might be because you're anxious before the surgery. Just like how I'm feeling nervous right now." He held An Xin Ya's hand tightly, giving her strength and comfort. 0

"Maybe. I'm afraid that if the surgery fails, I still won't be able to see anything, and I won't be able to see you. I'm even more afraid that if the surgery succeeds, you will leave me. If it's the latter, I'd rather never see again as long as you are willing to stay by my side." 0

"Fool, why would you say such things?" Shouya pulled her close and hugged her tightly, saying, "I will always be by your side and never abandon you. Just relax; the surgery will go well. It will definitely succeed. Then you'll regain your sight and be able to see things... and see me..." 0

Shouya stroked her smooth hair and softly told her, "Don't overthink." 0

He stayed by Xinya's side until she fell asleep before he felt relieved enough to leave the ward and return to the laboratory for research. However, thinking about what she had just said sent a chill through his heart. Could he also be afraid? That was impossible; he was a doctor. Moreover, he had promised her that he would heal her eyes and would not let her down or disappoint Grandma An. 0

"Brother Shouya..." 0

As Shouya walked out of the laboratory toward An Xin Ya's ward, a nurse approached him with a report for him to sign. Suddenly, he heard An Xin Ya's scream. He quickly rushed into the ward, tightly grasped her hand, and said, "I'm here; I'm here, Xinya..." 0
