An Xin Ya raised her eyes. Although she said this, she still couldn't understand and frowned, saying, "But why does he have to treat me with such a terrible attitude? Besides, I am innocent with Your Highness; I have nothing to do with him..."
"Men are generally more impulsive and can even be more jealous than women; they just don't show it on their faces. It all comes out in their rough actions," Yan Wushuang said with a smile, as she had deep experience in this matter.
An Xin Ya didn't say anything. Hearing Wushuang say this made her feel a bit sorry for Shouya, thinking that she shouldn't have lost control that day and argued loudly with him in the street. However, remembering his crude attitude, she still couldn't forgive him.
They walked into Annie's clothing store and sat down inside.
"Wow, such beautiful clothes! Miss Smith has great taste!" Xinya exclaimed as she looked at the dazzling array of outfits, including those worn by the models. They were all so fashionable and pretty, many of which had been featured in magazines!
Yan Wushuang covered her face and laughed, pulling Xinya to sit properly. "Of course they're beautiful; you should check who the boss of this store is!"
"Well, that's true! Miss Smith is a socialite and so beautiful; the clothes she picks must be stunning. Otherwise, how could this store be so popular?" An Xin Ya said enviously, wishing she had a business mind.
Flattered by their compliments, Annie couldn't stop smiling. She opened this store just to pass the time; after all, she couldn't stay home every day staring at her mother.
"Please stop praising me; if you keep going like this, I'm really going to get proud."
As she spoke, Annie asked the staff to bring out some of the latest arrivals for them to try on. Xinya was reluctant to go in because she didn't have enough money to buy such expensive clothes but was eventually pushed into the fitting room by Yan Wushuang and Annie together.
An Xin Ya took the clothes into the fitting room and changed. As soon as she entered, she heard Yan Wushuang say to her, "Wow, you look so beautiful! I bet Brother Shouya will rush over as soon as he sees you looking this good. Then you two will be reconciled, right?"
Mentioning Brother Shouya made An Xin Ya pause for a moment, her face instantly turning red with embarrassment. She thought to herself that Shouya wouldn't reconcile with her; after all this time, he hadn't come looking for her. Would she really have to go apologize to him personally?
Annie laughed and said, "Don't worry; these clothes are all gifts for you. If you like anything else, just take it!"
"How can we do that? You're running a business to make money! We can't just take things!" Xinya said upon meeting Annie for the first time, surprised by how generous and cheerful this beautiful boss was.
"Alright, Xinya, don't be polite. If Miss Smith says it's a gift, then it is. Just wear this dress! I've already called Brother Shouya for you; he said he's nearby and should be here soon. Hurry up and get ready," Yan Wushuang urged as she packed up the clothes for her.
As soon as An Xin Ya heard Yan Wushuang call Brother Shouya, she froze, her big eyes wide open, wanting to say something but only hearing Miss Smith's voice, "You're here, Xinya is waiting for you inside!"
"Okay..." Shouya looked at Annie Smith in front of him. Compared to her past self, she had indeed changed a lot, but now she was more pleasing to the eye.
He followed Miss Smith into the VIP room and saw Xinya just finishing organizing her things.
Xinya noticed Shouya's tall figure appearing behind her. They hadn't seen each other for several days, and she didn't know what his attitude was now.
Shouya smiled and greeted Wushuang before walking over to Xinya, taking her hand and saying to the two in the VIP room, "Bye, we're leaving now!"
An Xin Ya frowned and glared at him, wanting to pull her hand away, but she didn't do so in front of Wushuang. Instead, she walked closely beside him out of Annie's boutique.
Once outside the boutique, An Xin Ya broke free from his embrace, holding her things and striding ahead. Regardless of everything, she was still very angry as she said.
Shouya frowned and stepped forward, grabbing her hand and quickly blocking her path. "Xinya, don't be like this; it hurts my heart. I know I was wrong; I shouldn't have doubted you or treated you that way. Please forgive me, okay? Don't be angry..."
"Let go! Let go of your hand!" An Xin Ya shook off his grip, but his hand held tightly onto hers. The next moment, he pulled her toward the car parked by the roadside, opened the door, and pushed her inside while placing all her things on the back seat.
"What are you doing? I want to get out... Ugh!" As soon as Xinya was pushed into the passenger seat, she shouted loudly. Shouya didn't know what to say and simply lowered his head to kiss her lips, swallowing all the words she wanted to say.
Xinya's eyes widened as she stared up at him. His sudden kiss left her stunned and unable to resist. Fortunately, she didn't completely succumb; realizing what was happening, she pushed against his chest with all her strength.
Unexpectedly, Shouya wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her body closer to him while kissing her lips more recklessly. He easily pried open her lips and entered her mouth without hesitation.
At first, she still had the strength to resist, but gradually she lost consciousness under his kiss, becoming dizzy and slowly succumbing to him as they became entangled...
After a long kiss, Shouya finally released her lips, cupping her face with his hands. Looking into her bright eyes, he said, "Xinya, please forgive me; I know I was wrong!"
Her lips were swollen and red from the kiss, and her face was flushed with embarrassment. She shyly lowered her gaze and pretended to be angry, saying, "I won't forgive you!"
"What do I have to do for you to forgive me?" Shouya furrowed his brows in confusion. He truly didn't know what to do to earn her forgiveness. He had thought about it repeatedly over the past few days and realized he had made mistakes too. He wanted to find a time to meet her and apologize.
However, when he called her, she either didn't answer or her phone was off. When he called her home, it was mostly Grandma An who picked up, and when he asked her to let him talk to her, she refused. Whenever he went to her house, she would hide inside and not come out. After that, he got busy with work and had urgent matters to attend to in China, so he rarely sought her out.
An Xinya pouted in shyness and didn't say anything. What more could she ask him to do? That one kiss had washed away all her grievances like rain. Today, Wushuang had told her that his behavior towards her stemmed from caring for her, loving her, and not wanting anyone else to take her away from him.
Seeing her silent demeanor made it clear that she wouldn't forgive him easily. Shouya felt distressed and didn't know what else to do, so he leaned down again to kiss her.
"Mm-mm-mm..." An Xinya was kissed again and widened her eyes, pushing him away with force. She frowned and said, "What are you doing?"
"Is it because my kiss wasn't enough that you won't forgive me?" Shouya looked at her and asked.
Seeing him like this made An Xinya chuckle unexpectedly; she hadn't anticipated his playful side.
When she laughed, Shouya was overjoyed and grabbed her, asking with a smile, "You laughed! Does that mean you've forgiven me?"
"Alright, alright, I forgive you," she said shyly. "But..."
If she didn't forgive him soon, she feared he would kiss her until she couldn't breathe.
"That's great! That's great!" If they weren't in the car, Shouya would have happily spun around in circles. Instead, he kissed Xinya on the cheek with joy, started the engine, and drove them home.
They had reconciled, but a week later, Yan Wushuang found herself embroiled in a criminal case. It was said that the chicken soup she delivered that day contained poison, which led to Annie's death.
"How could this happen?" An Xinya felt extremely worried about Wushuang's safety upon hearing Shouya's news. She knew what kind of person Wushuang was; she wouldn't do such a thing. It must have been someone framing her.
"I don't know either. Wushuang is currently being held at the police station temporarily, and Lefas has already hired the best lawyer. As long as there’s no evidence proving Wushuang did it, the lawyer should be able to get her out..." Shouya had just received the news as well. The police and Lefas were both actively investigating the matter.
Due to forensic identification, the cause of her death was determined to be a type of chronic poison, which was also found in the chicken soup that Wushuang delivered that noon. All the unfavorable evidence pointed towards Yan Wushuang.
The news of Annie Smith's death spread rapidly, causing the stocks of Mokani and Halson to plummet.
Initially, An Xin Ya wanted to visit Wushuang, but was stopped by Shouya, who said it would be useless and that she couldn't help. Besides, Rafas had already hired the best lawyer, and they believed Wushuang would be able to walk out of the police station.
Bad news kept coming in. Upon hearing this news, Shouya, along with Faisal and Aisin Gioro Yao Ri, barged into Rafas's study.
“Lefas, quick, look at the news!” Aisin Gioro Yao Ri turned on the flat-screen TV in the study, which was currently broadcasting news about Tony's murder.
Shouya watched the news as well, shocked that Tony had been killed in an alley with multiple stab wounds, one of which was fatal, piercing his heart. The police were currently investigating the murder.
Another piece of news reported Rafas's true identity, with all unfavorable evidence pointing towards him.
Faisal said, “Once this news breaks, many people will believe that Tony's death must have been caused by Lefas. As for Annie's death, even if it wasn't done by Wushuang, it certainly seems like Lefas was helping her. If we can't find evidence, both of you will be in serious trouble!”
They then looked at the photos of the soup package; the testing department confirmed it contained poison.
Shouya and Faisal noted the differences in the photos and simultaneously stated that the soup package had been swapped.
This clue began to be analyzed step by step. After a series of investigations over several days, they finally discovered that the murderer who poisoned Annie was actually Yamamoto Miyo, a revelation no one could have anticipated.
Upon learning that the true culprit had been identified, An Xin Ya felt relieved and happy for Wushuang. She had always believed that Wushuang would never commit such a heinous act.
