Yan Wushuang furrowed her brows as she looked at the worried Grandma An. Hearing her words made her even more concerned about Xinya. Brother Shouya was truly heartless; Xinya had personally gone to apologize to him, crying so much, yet he still refused to forgive her.
"Please help Grandma, Wushuang. I don't want Xinya to cry every night!" As she spoke, tears welled up in Grandma An's eyes.
"Don't worry, Grandma. I'll think of a way," Yan Wushuang reassured Grandma An, telling her that she would visit Xinya tomorrow, but she had to take care of the children today and couldn't leave just yet.
Wushuang initially wanted to invite Grandma An to stay for dinner, but since Grandma An was worried about Xinya and wanted to go back to see her, Wushuang instructed the driver to prepare the car to take Grandma An home.
The next day, after leaving the children with the household servants and informing Rafas, Yan Wushuang took a car to visit An Xinya.
On the way, Wushuang saw a supermarket and decided to buy some fruits for Xinya's house. She asked the driver to stop at the supermarket entrance and got out to buy some fruits.
As she exited the supermarket with her purchases, she inadvertently spotted Morina and the Third Prince, who had just escorted a customer out of an upscale restaurant nearby.
Morina smiled as he watched the customer get into their car and leave. Turning around, he was surprised to see Yan Wushuang behind him. A smile naturally spread across his face as he approached her and said, "What a coincidence to meet you here."
"Quite a coincidence," Yan Wushuang replied with a gentle smile, raising her eyes to look at the elegant and handsome prince before her.
Morina admired the beautiful Yan Wushuang; even as a mother of two, she retained her beauty while exuding a mature charm.
Noticing the fruit basket in her hands, he was about to ask where she was headed when Wushuang interrupted him, saying, "Can we talk for a moment?"
"Of course," Morina was more than willing to sit down and chat with Wushuang but feared that Rafas might find out and cause trouble for him.
Morina led her into the restaurant and found a window-side table for them. He asked if she wanted anything to eat. Wushuang shook her head; all she wanted was a glass of plain water.
"I heard you like Xinya. Have you confessed your feelings to her?" Yan Wushuang took a sip of the water that the waiter had just brought and then set it down while looking at Morina.
"Yes," Morina admitted openly; it wasn't a secret.
"But Xinya doesn't like you; she likes Brother Shouya."
"I know this." Since there was no hope left with Xinya, he had no choice but to pursue An Xin Ya. He didn't care who Xinya liked; as long as he had sincerity, patience, and love, he would surely touch her heart. It was just that she hadn't seen his heart and goodness yet.
"Your Highness, do you know? Xinya's eyes were healed by Brother Shouya. She underwent two eye surgeries; the first one failed, which greatly impacted her emotionally. During that time, Brother Shouya stood by her side, encouraging her. In the end, the last surgery was successful. He gave Xinya light and a new life, allowing her to see the world and experience it through her eyes." Yan Wushuang looked at Morina and continued, "For Xinya, the most important and beloved person in her heart is Brother Shouya. If it weren't for him, she might have lived in darkness for her entire life..."
Morina raised her deep blue eyes to look at Wushuang, her brows furrowing in confusion as she struggled with what to say.
"Your Highness, if you truly love Xinya, you shouldn't destroy her happiness," Yan Wushuang said, hoping Morina would understand that there was no possibility between him and Xinya.
"Yes, Shouya gave her light. But pursuing the girl I like shouldn't be wrong!" Morina frowned and looked at Yan Wushuang with a conflicted expression.
"That's not wrong. But have you considered that even if you win her over, you may never win her heart? If her heart belongs to someone else, what does it mean for you or for her?" Yan Wushuang said with a frown. Loving someone is not wrong; of course, one has the right to pursue them. However, obtaining something that doesn't belong to you is ultimately meaningless no matter how hard you try.
Morina had nothing to say. He clearly understood what Wushuang meant. After hearing about the trials Xinya and Shouya had gone through together, he realized that Xinya did not belong to him and that their relationship was impossible. After careful consideration, he decided to leave everything to fate; if Xinya truly did not belong to him, then no matter what he did would be in vain.
They fell silent for a moment...
Morina then changed the subject and asked who she bought so much fruit for.
Yan Wushuang glanced at the fruit basket beside him and frowned again. "I'm going to see Xinya. Recently she has been upset because Brother Shouya is still angry with her and won't forgive her; she cries every night."
He thought that by doing this, Brother Shouya's heart would be moved and he would take the initiative to find Xinya. However, he never expected that after so many days, Brother Shouya remained stubborn. Last night she called Faisal again and learned that Brother Shouya was still locked away in the base, drinking day and night in a state of despair—now looking like neither a person nor a ghost...
Morina looked at Yan Wushuang in shock. He hadn't anticipated that his involvement would cause such turmoil between them, nor did he expect Xinya to cry daily for Shouya.
He felt a slight sense of guilt; he thought past romantic gestures would win Xinya's heart, but seeing her cry was not what he wanted.
"I'll go with you to Xinya's house!" After that night, Morina sensed that Xinya was keeping a certain distance from him, but regardless of anything else, he wanted to see her.
Yan Wushuang thought for a moment and hesitated before agreeing to let Morina accompany him to visit Xinya.
Arriving at the small town, the car stopped downstairs at Xinya's house. Wushuang and Morina went up to the second floor and knocked on the door, which was opened by Grandma An.
Seeing Wushuang, Grandma An was overjoyed, but when she saw Morina, the smile on her lips froze for a moment. She respectfully called out "Your Highness" and then hurriedly invited them inside.
"Where is Xinya?" Upon entering the house, Yan Wushuang asked Grandma An.
"She's in her room. She hasn't come out for several days," Grandma An said with a furrowed brow, looking worried. She had just taken food to Xinya, but Xinya had no appetite at all, eating only a little before refusing to eat anymore.
Yan Wushuang walked into Xinya's room and saw her sitting gloomily in front of the vanity. On the table were leftovers from her meal. She gently called out, "Xinya..."
Hearing Wushuang's voice, An Xinya was startled. Turning around and seeing Wushuang, she forced a bitter smile and said, "Wushuang, why did you come?"
"Xinya, even if Brother Shouya doesn't come looking for you, you can't keep torturing yourself like this!" Yan Wushuang stepped closer to her. After not seeing her for a few days, she looked much thinner and more haggard. How could she not come to see her in this state?
Xinya merely smiled bitterly again, her eyes red and vacant as she asked, "Has he really stopped looking for me? Has he really not forgiven me?"
She had asked her grandmother this question countless times; now she asked Wushuang again, hoping for a definitive answer. If that were true, it would be unbearable for her; she would feel guilty for life.
Yan Wushuang didn't know how to respond. Perhaps Brother Shouya was just feeling down at the moment, or maybe he had come to terms with things but was too afraid to seek out Xinya?
Seeing that Wushuang remained silent, Xinya felt heavy-hearted, like a stone thrown into the ocean, slowly sinking to the bottom without seeing any light.
She let out a cold laugh and gazed blankly out the window. The clear blue sky contrasted sharply with her current mood.
"Oh right, Morina came to see you; he's in the living room! Why don't you go out and see him?" Yan Wushuang changed the subject.
How did he come? And why did he come with Wushuang? No matter how much she didn't want to see Morina, he was still Your Highness; out of courtesy, she should go out and meet him.
Yan Wushuang helped Xinya walk out of the room. Upon seeing Morina in the living room, she stepped forward and respectfully called out, "Your Highness."
Morina looked at An Xin Ya, who had become thin and haggard after a few days, and felt a sharp pain in her heart. She didn't know what to say to Xinya; it was truly unbearable to see her so sad.
Sitting down, Grandma An had already prepared some fruits and snacks on the table. Seeing Xinya like this made her heart ache deeply.
The feelings between family members are complicated and tangled. This old woman didn't know what else to do besides comforting her. In situations like this, the one who ties the knot must also untie it, but the person who could resolve this issue had yet to appear!
"Xinya, continuing like this is not a solution. You're hurting yourself. You spend every day in sorrow and cry yourself to sleep at night; everyone is very worried about you. Don't you remember? Your eyes were healed by Brother Shouya. What if you cry them blind? Can you bear to make everyone sad?" Yan Wushuang said, looking at Xinya.
An Xin Ya lowered her eyelids. Hearing Wushuang say this, she raised her sorrowful eyes to look at Wushuang and asked despondently, "What do you think I should do?"
She had found him, but he was unwilling to see her. Here she was, waiting in anguish, while he continued to avoid her.
"How about this? Why don't you go to England with Morina for a few days? Don't worry about Brother Shouya; just leave that to me," Yan Wushuang suggested. Spending each day in sadness at home was not as good as going out for a walk to clear her mind; it might help improve her mood.
Wushuang's suggestion surprised Xinya. She glanced at Morina, feeling hesitant.
"Xinya, come with me to England; I will take good care of you," Morina said, realizing her words might have been inappropriate and quickly added, "I know you don't like me and have refused before, but think of it as a friend inviting you to England for a little getaway..."
Xinya thought for a moment and replied, "Going out for a change of scenery sounds good."
Hearing Xinya agree made Wushuang and Morina very happy, their faces breaking into smiles. The trip was set for tomorrow, and Morina had already called to book the tickets.
