"Don't touch me if you don't want to; I don't need women!" After saying that, he stood up and patted Li Cheng's shoulder. "You guys chat; I'm going back to sleep." Then, he staggered out with a wide stance. As he passed by the door, he suddenly caught sight of Li Li huddled there. He snorted through his nostrils and raised his arm as if to hit him. Li Li instinctively protected his head, and the slap never landed. Peeking through his eyes, he saw Li Weimin happily walking into the yard. 0

"I told you your dad's eyes weren't right, but you didn't believe me!" Inside the room, Li Cheng sat down beside the bed, while Liu Wenyi, still shaken, hid in his arms. "Did you see what he just..." 0

Li Cheng patted her shoulder. "Alright, this is my fault. I should have made it clear to them from the start. How could it lead to so much trouble? You’ve been wronged this time; you're magnanimous enough to forgive my dad. At his age, having this much energy is already impressive; who knows what my mom is like." 0

"Hmph," Liu Wenyi pouted playfully. 0

"Tomorrow after you get off work, I'll go with you to buy a bag?" 0

Liu Wenyi's expression brightened a bit. "You better mean it; no backing out." 0

"No backing out, no backing out." Li Cheng lowered his head and kissed her forehead. Liu Wenyi tilted her face up in response, and their lips met in a passionate kiss that made Liu Wenyi feel all fluttery inside. Her arms wrapped around the back of Li Cheng's neck as he took the hint, keeping their lips together while slowly laying her back on the bed. Just then, Liu Wenyi suddenly pushed against him and pointed toward the door with her chin. "That fool is peeking over there." 0

Li Cheng turned to look; Li Li was crouched behind the door, only his dark eyes visible as he eagerly stared at them. When their eyes met, he grinned and stepped out from behind the door. "Bro—" 0

"This fool!" Li Cheng scoffed. "What are you doing over there?" 0

"Watching a show," Li Li mumbled incoherently. Li Cheng didn't catch it, but Liu Wenyi vaguely understood. She paused for a moment and cautiously examined Li Li: disheveled hair, tattered clothes, mouth half-open with drool dripping down to his chest—he looked every bit like a fool. 0

Liu Wenyi tapped Li Cheng's chest. "You need to get him out of here; what's he doing just standing around?" 0

Li Cheng immediately waved his hand dismissively. "Out... wait a minute." He leaned down and said meaningfully to Liu Wenyi, "Let him stay; he's just a fool. Playing in front of him is more exciting." 0

"What do you mean? You want him to watch us...?" 0

"He doesn't understand anything; he's just here to add some spice for us. Isn't that more thrilling than a themed hotel? Huh? Is that okay?" 0

Li Cheng was a typical male chauvinist—he always had been and even more so now. Liu Wenyi had never been able to argue with him before, and besides... it did seem quite thrilling. Caught between embarrassment and hesitation, she slightly reined in her shock. "Just this once." 0

Li Cheng immediately excitedly called out to Li Li, "Ali, lock the door and come sit over there." 0

Li Li blinked and turned around to close the door. After securing the latch, he sat at the table with his back straight, legs together, hands resting on his knees like a schoolboy listening attentively. 0

That day, under a gloomy sky with drizzling rain falling softly, Li Li squatted in an alley playing with pebbles while nearby several children jumped around in squares drawn on the ground with stones. The gate next door opened, and a woman in her forties poked her head out from between the doors and yelled at the children, "It's raining! Stop playing and hurry home! Qiangzi, come inside; if you catch a cold again it'll cost money." 0

The children groaned impatiently in long tones of "Aiya," while Qiangzi didn't want to lose face in front of his friends and irritably replied to the woman, "Mom, can you not bother me? I'll be back soon." 0

"You..." The woman noticed Li Li in the corner and swallowed back her curse words before glancing at the white car parked at the neighbor's house belonging to Li Cheng. She asked Li Li, "Ali, your brother is back; you can eat meat now! What are you still doing out here? Why aren't you rushing home?" 0

Li Li lazily lifted his eyes before letting them drop again and weakly said, "My brother is fighting with his wife; they won't let me in. Once they're done fighting, I can go back." 0

Li Li getting married was shocking news for the entire alley and even the whole town; it had been hot gossip for over half a month without fading away. 0

"Fighting?" The woman repeated before understanding what Li Li meant and immediately showed an excited expression as if she had gossip to share. She walked over through the drizzle until she was beside Li Li, bent down with her ample backside sticking out as she asked eagerly, "How are they fighting?" 0

"Well..." Li Li thought for a moment before searching her exhausted mind for suitable words, "It's like you push me and I push you." 0

The woman's small eyes sparkled with excitement, "Do they often push each other?" 0

"Yeah—" Li Li looked up at the sky, recalling, "Anyway, every time my brother comes back, they fight. When they fight, they won't let me into the house; otherwise, I won't get any meat." 0

The woman squatted down next to Li Li and leaned in closer to ask, "So how do they fight? Are they wearing clothes or are they naked?" 0

"Um—" Li Li put her dirt-covered fingers to her mouth, sucking on them as she spoke, "At first, they were wearing clothes, but as they kept fighting, they took them off." 0

"Wow!" The woman let out a scream-like gasp, her heart racing with excitement. She could hardly wait to knock on doors and share this explosive news. 0

"I'm not talking to you anymore. Dad bought a big chicken and said we're having meat today. I need to go home and eat." With that, Li Li pushed herself up against the wall, walked around the back of the car, and slipped into the house. 0

The woman's chest heaved dramatically as she stood there. Her oily and plump cheeks glowed with a sunset-like red hue, and she couldn't help but smile broadly. It was as if her feet were rooted to the ground on that brick-paved land. After a while, she absentmindedly told her son, "Hurry home; otherwise your dad will come back and whip you with a belt!" After saying that, she hurriedly ran to the neighbor's house. She was so selfless; this precious gossip was enough to entertain her good friends for half a year. She certainly couldn't keep it all to herself; she wanted to share every detail and even embellish it. 0

In the yard, Wang Surong bent over protectively holding two plates of freshly cooked dishes in her arms. Like a gust of wind, she rushed into the main hall, placed the dishes on the table, and smiled humbly at the two waiting in the southeast corner, "Your dad is killing a chicken right now; there's soup simmering in the pot. If you're hungry, go ahead and eat." 0

Li Cheng picked up his chopsticks and grabbed a piece of pork belly to put in his mouth. "Tell my dad not to bother; I come here often enough. Besides, I have to meet a client this afternoon; I need to leave by three." 0

"It'll be ready soon; it won't take half an hour. Your dad rarely cooks; his skills are better than mine. If you don't eat it, Wenyi should at least try it." 0

Liu Wenyi pursed her lips and cleared her throat as if reminding Wang Surong to prepare herself mentally for what she was about to say. She glanced at Wang Surong, who raised her eyelids and leaned forward in a respectful posture. "I want to say, Aunt Wang, when you serve the dishes—could you please not stick your nails into them? I'm not saying you're unclean, but it's really unhygienic and quite off-putting." 0

Her cheekbones rose high as her eyes narrowed into slits, indicating that she had held back for long enough before finally speaking up. 0

Wang Surong's smile froze on her face like a photograph captured in time. After a brief pause of just a few seconds, she forced another smile filled with apology. "I'll pay attention; I’ll be more careful next time." 0

Thus, when Li Li left the woman behind and entered through the door, this was the scene she encountered. 0
