Zhang Jin, Underworld deity, Han Che, and their companions, under the guidance of ancient sages, embarked on a journey to seek "Thirteen as One."
They set out on the road to various mystery domains in the underworld, filled with curiosity about the unknown and a steadfast belief in their mission.
During the journey, they first arrived at a place called "Shadow Valley," which is a mysterious land permanently covered in mist.
Within the mist, they could vaguely see a forest woven with ancient trees, each emitting a faint blue light, illuminating their path forward.
"Every tree here seems to have a life of its own, whispering something," Zhang Jin listened closely to the faint sound, with a hint of confusion in his eyes.
The Underworld deity gazed around and said in a deep voice, "These trees are the guardians of Shadow Valley, recording the history and secrets of the underworld in their own way. Perhaps they can provide us with clues to find the 'Thirteen as One'."
Han Che tightly grasped the weapon in hand and said in a deep voice, "No matter what lies ahead, we must persevere. Only by finding the key to Thirteen as One can we summon the complete God of the Underworld artifact to protect the peace of the underworld."
As they ventured deeper into Shadow Valley, the mist thickened, and the air seemed to be filled with an invisible pressure, making breathing difficult. In this environment that almost seemed to consume one's will, their minds faced an unprecedented test.
Suddenly, a faint light flashed in the mist, guiding them forward. This light carried a warmth that did not belong to this world, giving them the courage and determination to move forward.
Following this light, they arrived at a vast open space, where the mist seemed to thin out. A group of mysterious and ancient spirit beasts slowly appeared before them. These spirit beasts possessed extraordinary qualities, each seeming to carry the secrets and power of the ancient underworld.
"Heroes, welcome to Shadow Valley," spoke a fox with nine tails. Its voice was gentle yet carried an indescribable sense of majesty. "Your presence here proves your courage and wisdom. But to pass through this valley, you must solve the riddles we present to you."
Zhang Jin, Underworld deity, and Han Che exchanged glances, knowing that this was not only a test of intelligence, but also a test of will. They nodded, indicating their acceptance of the challenge.
The nine-tailed fox gently swayed its tail and began to pose the first riddle: "I am silent, yet I can penetrate everything. I am by your side, yet far away in the sky. What am I?"
After some thought, Zhang Jin suddenly realized, "It's the wind! The wind is formless and intangible, yet it can penetrate everything. It is always by our side, yet it can instantly be far away."
The nine-tailed fox's eyes shimmered with radiance as it gently swayed its nine pale, moonlight-like tails. A mysterious smile played at the corner of its mouth as it then spoke the second riddle:
"I am born in spring, and die in autumn. In my brief life, I witness the growth and aging of all things. Who am I?"
This riddle has left Zhang Jin, Underworld deity, and Han Che deep in thought. The three of them huddle together, discussing in hushed tones, trying to find the answer from the clues given by the nine-tailed fox.
"Born in spring, dies in autumn... This should refer to some natural phenomenon or organism, right?" Han Che furrows his brow, trying to find the answer from the changing of the seasons.
"Not only that, it also witnesses the growth and aging of all things," the Underworld deity added, his gaze seeming to be tracing the trajectory of that life.
Zhang Jin suddenly brightened, "I think I know the answer! It should be referring to 'leaves,' right? Leaves sprout in spring and wither in autumn, witnessing the changing of the seasons and the growth and aging of all things in nature."
Three people looked at each other and saw the determined answer in each other's eyes. Then, Zhang Jin turned to the nine-tailed fox, smiled slightly, and answered firmly, "The answer to this riddle is a leaf."
The nine-tailed fox's eyes showed a hint of surprise, then turned into a satisfied smile. "Indeed, your wisdom is admirable. Leaves, born in spring and perishing in autumn, though their lives are short, they witness the cycle of the four seasons and the growth and aging of all things."
Solving this puzzle not only brought joy to Zhang Jin, Underworld deity, and Han Che, but more importantly, they learned more about the philosophy of nature and life from these puzzles.
With a gentle swish of the nine-tailed fox's tail, a mysterious and inscrutable expression appeared on its face, followed by a hint of probing in its tone as it spoke the third riddle.
"In broad daylight, I am invisible; at nightfall, I hang high in the sky. I change with the passage of time, embodying both the new and the old. I am the dream and hope of every night. What am I?"
Zhang Jin, Underworld deity, and Han Che all fell into contemplation after hearing this. This riddle seemed even more abstract than the first, requiring them to delve deeper into their wisdom and experience.
Underworld deity's brow furrowed for a moment, then suddenly his eyes lit up as if he had found the key to the answer.
"It's the moon!" Underworld deity said confidently. "During the day, the sun's rays make the moon invisible, but when night falls, the moon becomes the brightest presence in the sky. It changes its form as time passes, from new moon to full moon, and then back to new moon. It is a symbol of the night and a source of dreams and hopes for many people."
After listening, the nine-tailed fox's eyes flashed with a hint of surprise, then a smile spread across its face. "Indeed, your wisdom is admirable. So, let us move on to the fourth riddle."
The nine-tailed fox's voice was filled with anticipation as it slowly began to speak the fourth riddle.
"I was born underground, yet I grow towards the light. Whether in barrenness or fertility, I always find a way to survive. People seek me for satisfaction in times of hunger. What am I?"
This riddle may seem simple, but it requires careful consideration. It is not only a test of their knowledge, but also a test of their observation of life and natural phenomena.
Zhang Jin After a moment of silence, his eyes suddenly lit up. "It's the roots of plants, especially those edible tuberous plants! They grow underground and can thrive under any environmental conditions, providing food and nutrition for humans."
Upon hearing this, the nine-tailed fox nodded with a satisfied expression. "Very good, you have already proven your wisdom and courage. The road ahead will be even brighter."
The continuous challenges are like a series of keys, unlocking the doors to new knowledge and wisdom.
With their own wisdom and teamwork, they successively solved the puzzles presented by the spirit beasts. With each puzzle solved, their minds and wills were trained and elevated.
Finally, after solving the last puzzle, the mist gradually cleared, revealing a bright path leading them towards the depths of Shadow Valley, where they would continue their quest to find the key to "Thirteen as One."
