After all, with Simple among them, when Jian Ming invited Shaw Min and An Shaojie to join him for a meal, An Shaojie did not refuse because Simple knew Lin Xi and had always been friendly with him.
For An Shaojie, who suddenly parted ways in elementary school and worked hard to reunite with her in high school, only to miss her again during those years, anyone who knew Lin Xi was considered a good person, and he treated them all kindly.

He looked quite ordinary at first glance! But upon closer inspection, he was not bad—fair skin, delicate eyebrows, starry eyes, a full forehead, a plump face, and long hair cascading down like a waterfall.
“Hey! Did you guys notice something?” After observing for a while, Simple suddenly exclaimed dramatically.
All eyes turned to her. They wondered what she was up to this time.
Jian Ming shot her a questioning look that seemed to say: If you have something to say, just say it. I don’t want to scold you in front of all these polite people.
Who was Simple? Jian Ming's sister. The two had been like two peas in a pod since childhood. As Simple would put it, they were siblings who had fought their way out of a wealthy family; they knew each other's tricks inside out. She certainly understood the meaning behind his gaze.
“Didn’t you notice? Sister Shaw Min’s expressions and demeanor are strikingly similar to Lin Xi’s.”
As soon as Simple spoke those words, almost everyone was stunned, but simultaneously all eyes turned toward An Shaw Min’s face.
What seemed like an offhand comment from Simple might have been just that to others since none of them knew Lin Xi.
However, it stirred up waves in Qinglan's and An Shaojie's hearts!
Who could deny it? When they were children and didn’t understand love, while playing together, Qinglan only knew that adults often praised Lin Xi and Shaw Min for their quietness in front of her. She longed to be quiet too; yet even when she sat silently, her restless thoughts would betray her heart.
"What are you thinking about over there?" both Mother and Brother would ask her.
But if Shaw Min and Lin Xi were sitting somewhere, others would say, "Look at them, such quiet girls."
Do they not think about anything while sitting there?
Although she had never been in a formal relationship, she had already experienced the inexplicable heart flutter and vague bittersweet feelings in her heart.
So when she looked at An Shaomin's serene smile, Qinglan finally understood why Shaoan had always been fixated on Lin Xi; it turned out that the quietness from their childhood had grown into a warm glow similar to that of a mother.
Thinking of this, Qinglan couldn't help but feel some jealousy and sadness.

Sitting next to Shaw Min, Shaoan understood his own heart even more. His insecure heart could only see the brilliance of the outside world through the warm smiles of Shaw Min and Lin Xi; only then could his heart find peace. Without their warm smiles, his world was shrouded in darkness.
An Shaojie couldn't help but think of the figure he saw at the registration office today.
After lunch, several people went to Qinglan, Simple, and An Shaojie's dormitory to help them set up their mosquito nets and make their beds so that the three of them could rest early.
Jian Ming arranged for Shaw Min to stay with Reiko.
Two old classmates, one a good desk mate and the other someone with whom he shared a deep connection; Shaw Min readily agreed without needing to be polite.
They took the bus and then transferred to the subway, with Shaw Min linking arms with Reiko in silence.
Upon entering the school gate, the three of them found themselves in a dilemma.
"Shall we walk around the campus for a bit?"

Jian Ming nodded and asked Shaw Min, "So when are you going back?"
"Tomorrow morning, I will go straight back to Shenzhen from Beijing," Shaw Min replied.

"Safe travels," Jian Ming extended his hand.
Shaw Min was taken aback for a moment but then reached out her hand as well. Jian Ming held her hand tightly.
He thought he would hold back, but in the end, he couldn't!
At the moment Shaw Min was about to turn around, Jian Ming suddenly hugged her tightly! He cried like a child, although he didn't make a sound. In the dim light, no one saw the tears streaming down his face, but he truly cried. If it weren't for Reiko stepping forward to pull him away, he might have really lost control and cried out loud. As he turned around, he gazed through tear-filled eyes at their departing figures. Love has always been like this; it first moves oneself before it can touch the other.
