“Jian Ming?” Qinglan shouted. 0

“Qinglan?” Jian Ming looked up. 0

“Jian Ming, you...” Qinglan was speechless, hardly believing her eyes. “Jian Ming, why are you here at this time?” 0

“Um.” A brilliant smile appeared on Jian Ming's face, instantly becoming a ray of sunshine in the snow. “I was looking for you, Sister Shaomin. I heard from other classmates that she came back this year, so I... came.” 0

Qinglan gazed at Jian Ming with a beaming smile, happiness overflowing on her face, as if Jian Ming had come to find her, as if the love before her belonged to her. 0

“I certainly know you are looking for Sister Shaomin. She is at home,” Qinglan said joyfully, almost dancing with excitement. 0

“Come on, Jian Ming, I’ll take you to Sister Shaomin’s house.” Qinglan took Jian Ming's hand. 0

“What about Simple? Why didn’t that girl come with you?” Qinglan then asked. 0

“It’s cold, so I didn’t let her come. She insisted on coming,” Jian Ming replied. 0

Qinglan didn’t say anything else along the way; she just giggled, her smile brighter than spring flowers. 0

When they reached Bai Cuifen's doorstep, Qinglan opened her mouth and shouted, “Sister Shaomin, guess who’s here!” 0

Inside, Bai Cuifen could hardly believe her ears. “Who called? Shaw Min? Qinglan?” 0

An Shaojie was home, and Qinglan had never dared to come over so boldly before. 0

"It’s Qinglan." Shaw Min was in her room, stitching a pair of insoles that Bai Cuifen had started. They had been chatting in her room last night, and the insoles were left behind. With nothing else to do, Shaw Min picked them up to continue the embroidery. 0

She didn’t look up, still focused on her work, her voice calm. 0

"Sister Shaw Min." Qinglan's voice outside grew louder. "Come out and greet our esteemed guest. Look who has arrived." 0

Shaw Min didn’t come out, but An Shaojie was drawn out by Qinglan's voice. 0

He stood coldly at the door, staring at the smiling Qinglan. 0

"Brother Shaojie." Upon seeing him, Qinglan's heart involuntarily skipped a beat, and her smile froze. 0

"Brother Shaojie, Jian Ming says Sister Shaw Min is here." Qinglan said timidly. 0

It was less of a timid voice and more of a flustered and trembling one. 0

The sound of confusion in front of someone she loved, the tremor of emotions she couldn’t suppress in front of someone she hadn’t seen in a long time. 0

An Shaojie's cold gaze shifted from Qinglan's face to Jian Ming's and then slowly fell to the hand that Qinglan was holding Jian Ming's with. 0

Qinglan hurriedly released Jian Ming's hand. 0

"An Shaojie." Jian Ming smiled lightly. 0

An Shaojie forced a cold smile. "What do you two want with my sister?" 0

He was asking about you all, not just you. 0

"Are you Sister here?" Jian Ming asked slowly with a charming smile on his face, unfazed by An Shaojie's cold expression and words. 0

"Who is it?" At that moment, Shaw Min's voice floated out from the room. 0

Seeing that Qinglan had not come in, seemingly blocked by An Shaojie, Shaw Min hurriedly put down what she was doing and walked out of the room. She thought An Shaojie was making things difficult for Qinglan. 0

"Jian Ming!" 0

The moment Shaw Min saw Jian Ming, she stood there dazed for a few minutes, completely still, her eyes not even blinking. 0

Tears slowly filled her eyes, and a crystal-clear droplet fell down. 0

"An Shaomin." Jian Ming still stood outside the door, gently calling her name, leaning forward as if wanting to rush in and embrace her, which moved everyone present. 0

Qinglan looked at Jian Ming with a serious expression. "Jian Ming." 0

Suddenly, Shaw Min turned around and ran back into her room at lightning speed, shutting the door behind her. 0

"It's fine, just go in." After a while, Qinglan said, glancing at An Shaojie, who was blocking the doorway. 0

He indeed stood there like a roadblock, his deep-set, cold eyes intimidating to anyone who looked at him. 0

At that moment, Bai Cuifen approached. She recognized Jian Ming and quickly invited him inside, mentioning how An Shaojie was being inconsiderate and not hosting guests properly. 0

An Shaojie returned to his room in frustration. 0

Holding the steaming tea brought by Bai Cuifen, Jian Ming wore a somewhat helpless smile, his eyes constantly glancing towards An Shaomin's room. 0

Dear one! After missing you through a summer, an autumn, and a winter, all I long to see is your face, your smile, not your tears. 0

For Qinglan, this was just the right opportunity to stay at Bai Cuifen's house. Even if An Shaojie stayed locked in his room, so what! 0

This house was familiar to Qinglan; she knew where the hoe was kept in one corner, where a bamboo pole was stored in another, which part of the wall had peeling wood veneer, and where there was a small pit on the floor. 0

After greeting Bai Cuifen, Qinglan jumped into Shaw Min's room. 0

Pushing the door open, she found Shaw Min standing by the window, gazing out at the heavy snowfall. 0

"Sister Shaomin," Qinglan called out. 0

Shaw Min turned with a gentle smile, her eyes slightly red. "Qinglan." 0

Qinglan giggled and leaned on Shaw Min's shoulder. "Jian Ming said you came and went outside." She shook Shaw Min's hand playfully. 0

Shaw Min lowered her head and nodded shyly. With Qinglan pulling her along, she half-heartedly stepped out of the room. 0

"An Shaomin," Jian Ming quickly set down his teacup and stood up, staring intently at An Shaomin. 0

"You've come?" Shaw Min asked shyly. 0

When Shaw Min came out, Bai Cuifen hurriedly invited Shaw Min into the kitchen. 0

In the kitchen, Bai Cuifen went through the menu she had prepared for Jian Ming and asked, "Is it enough? Is it suitable?" 0

Seeing Bai Cuifen's nervousness, Shaw Min couldn't help but smile lightly and said, "Mother, he's my classmate. Just treat him like one of us; whatever we eat, he will eat too." 0

"But he's a guest from the city," Bai Cuifen said, glaring at Shaw Min in annoyance. 0

"Alright then, this will be fine," Shaw Min replied with a smile, finding her mother's nervousness quite amusing. 0

Although Bai Cuifen was not someone who had seen much of the world, she was usually calm and never panicked or felt uneasy about anything, nor did she lack opinions. 0

After receiving Shaw Min's approval, Bai Cuifen took down the bamboo basket that had fallen against the wall in the kitchen and prepared to go to the vegetable garden to pick some greens. 0

"It's snowing heavily outside; there's no need to go," Shaw Min said as she followed Bai Cuifen and stopped her. 0

"The greens that come out of the snow are the tastiest," Bai Cuifen said with a smile at Jian Ming. "They're very sweet; you city folks can't get greens like this." 0

"Yes, that's true," Jian Ming replied as he stood up. "Mother, I'll go with you to pick vegetables." With that, Jian Ming set down his cup and took the basket that Bai Cuifen had draped over her arm into his own hands. Bai Cuifen looked at Shaw Min, who smiled and said, "Then let's all go." "An Shaojie," Shaw Min called out towards An Shaojie's room. 0
