“Qinglan, follow him, he’s drunk.” Xu Wen waved at Qinglan, who was across from him ordering songs. 0

“Oh.” Qinglan grabbed An Shaojie's coat that was thrown on the sofa and headed outside. 0

“Wait a minute.” Xu Wen suddenly called out to Qinglan, stepping forward to pull her to the corner of the hallway outside the door. He took out his wallet from his pocket and handed it to Qinglan, saying, “You need money for a taxi.” 0

“Okay.” Qinglan took Xu Wen's wallet and rushed outside. 0

By the time Qinglan caught up with An Shaojie, he had already made it to the street, but his legs were uncooperative, and he was still holding that bottle of alcohol. 0

Qinglan stepped forward, said nothing, and directly snatched the bottle from his hand. 0

“Who... who are you?” He looked at Qinglan with bleary eyes, stuttering as he asked. 0

Qinglan helped him put on his coat, but he yanked it off and threw it on the ground, asking, “Who are you? Why do I need your clothes?” 0

Qinglan picked up the coat from the ground and said, “Let’s go, I’ll take you back to your dorm.” 0

He opened his mouth as if to say something more, but perhaps due to the alcohol starting to take effect, his eyes closed, and he leaned against Qinglan's shoulder. 0

Qinglan hailed a taxi and struggled to get him inside. 0

The car stopped at the school gate, and she exerted great effort to pull him out of the vehicle. 0

During the struggle, he became a little more alert. 0

“Where is this?” He still seemed half-asleep. 0

"School," Qinglan replied. 0

He then stared at Qinglan closely, and after a long moment, it seemed he recognized who she was. He hurriedly released his grip on her arm. 0

The alcohol also faded significantly in that instant. 0

At the same time, he seemed to recall the reason for his drunkenness. He bit his lip, avoiding looking at Qinglan, and asked, "Where are the others?" 0

"They're still there," Qinglan said. 0

"Thank you," he said, and was about to leave Qinglan behind as he walked forward. 0

Qinglan caught up to him and called out, "Hey, um, your clothes." This time, she did not call him Brother Shaojie. 0

His back paused for a moment before he stopped. 0

When Qinglan handed him the clothes, he looked at her, and there was a moment of softness in his eyes. 0

"Brother Shaojie," Qinglan finally couldn't help but gently call out the name she had buried deep in her heart. 0

The moonlight was like water, the night was cool, and the campus was quiet. 0

The clear moonlight fell on Qinglan's face as she tilted her head up, gazing at An Shaojie, whose eyes were filled with loneliness. 0

Her eyes were incredibly clear, with only a hint of faint sadness. 0

He pressed his lips tightly together, gazing at the distant sky, where countless stars shone brightly. The resolute contours of his face resembled a cold, indifferent ice sculpture. The flicker of warmth that had briefly appeared in his eyes vanished, and his brows furrowed deeply, pushing Qinglan away as if she were miles apart. 0

"If there's nothing else, I'll head back. There are still many people over there." Qinglan immediately withdrew the delicate softness she had just shown, coldly tossing this remark before turning to leave. 0

"Am I really that useless?" A sudden voice floated from behind, hoarse and choked. 0

Qinglan's figure froze. Was it an echo from the heavens? Had she misheard? Or was she dreaming? 0

This was a phrase Qinglan had waited over twenty years to hear! 0

She stood there for a long time, afraid to move or turn around, fearing that any motion would turn the voice she had just heard into an illusion. 0

"You can go now." After a long silence, another voice came from behind. This time, it returned to its original tone—stiff and indifferent. 0

Qinglan was certain it wasn't a dream, nor an echo from the heavens, nor an illusion; it was undeniably An Shaojie's voice. 0

"Why should I listen to you? Just because you tell me to leave, I have to go?" Qinglan suddenly turned around and stared at An Shaojie, questioning him. 0

Finally, he shifted his gaze from the starry sky to Qinglan's face, locking eyes with her. 0

In his gaze, a hint of warmth flickered again; though it was just a tiny glimmer of starlight, it was enough to melt Qinglan's heart. 0

"Brother Shaojie." She suddenly rushed in front of him and hugged him tightly. 0

He stood still, allowing her to embrace him. 0

She held him tightly, and tears that had been pent up for nearly twenty years poured out. 0

He remained motionless, tears streaming down his face like a river breaking its banks. 0

"Why do you have to do this?" After a long time, he choked out. 0

"No matter how bitter it is, I am willing to bear it myself," Qinglan replied softly. 0

"Lanlan." The voice was choked, as if it came from deep underground or from the depths of his heart. Qinglan pressed against his chest, causing his heart to tremble. 0

Lanlan, what a long-lost and affectionate name! If he hadn't called this name countless times in his heart, how could he say it so naturally, so affectionately, so deeply? 0

A gentle call made Qinglan hold him even tighter. 0

But An Shaojie remained still, allowing her to embrace him tightly. He did not respond to Qinglan's passionate hug and fervent feelings. 0

"Why do you have to be like this?" he continued to say to himself. 0

"But, Brother Shaojie, I only like you. I've only liked you since I was little." When An Shaojie softly uttered "Lanlan," all the fear she had felt towards him vanished. Qinglan felt as if she had returned to her childhood, becoming bold and unrestrained in front of him, without any sense of strangeness. 0

"Xu Wen is so good," An Shaojie continued to gaze at the twinkling stars in the night sky, his body still stiff and unmoving. 0

"But the person I like is you," Qinglan murmured against An Shaojie's chest. "Even though you're not that great." 0

Hearing Qinglan's last words, An Shaojie smiled lightly, still looking at the night sky. 0

"Go back to Xu Wen and the others, or just head back to the dorm," An Shaojie said, gazing at a star. 0

"Wherever you go, I will go too," Qinglan said playfully, leaning against An Shaojie. 0

"Alright, I'll go back to the dorm," An Shaojie replied gently. 0

"Lu Chenyu is leaving Beijing for Qinhuangdao tomorrow afternoon. Are you going to see him off?" 0

As they walked to the lake at the southeast corner of the school, the water was filled with remnants of last year's wilted lotus. The roots of the dead lotuses seemed to have new green shoots just breaking through the surface. The lake was calm, like a smooth mirror reflecting the silhouettes of Qinglan and An Shaojie under the moonlight. After walking in silence for a long time, Qinglan suddenly asked An Shaojie. 0

"I'm not going to see him off; I don't know him, and Lin Xi is going with him," An Shaojie's tone was decisive but carried a hint of disappointment and jealousy. 0

Qinglan nodded. "Oh, right." 0

When they reached the fork between the boys' dormitory and the Girls' Dormitory, both Qinglan and An Shaojie stopped in their tracks. 0

Qinglan looked at An Shaojie. 0

"Go back," An Shaojie said. 0

"Aren't you going to hug me?" Qinglan asked. An Shaojie smiled as he looked into the distance and said, "What good is a hug?" After saying that, he turned and walked away. Qinglan stood there for a long time, watching his figure gradually fade into the night. 0
