When Mosen's body was almost fully recovered, Jiang Liuying began returning to the dormitory again because her computer was there. The rental place had no internet access, and even though she was in the midst of a tense period of preparing for her graduate school entrance exams, she still couldn't part with her computer. 0

As soon as she returned to the dormitory, she saw someone lying on Qinglan's bed, quietly sobbing. At first, she thought it was Qinglan, but upon closer inspection, she noticed that Qinglan was sitting beside the crying person, comforting them. 0

She then assumed it was Shen Xiaomeng. "Mengmeng, what's wrong? Did you have another fight with your Hao Chuanze?" she asked bluntly. 0

"You’re the one who had a fight with your Mosen," Shen Xiaomeng replied from her upper bunk, where she was knitting a half-finished scarf. 0

"Wait, how did you get up there?" Jiang Liuying asked as she followed the sound. 0

"I moved up here a long time ago," Shen Xiaomeng said while skillfully continuing her knitting. 0

"Oh, right." Jiang Liuying slapped her forehead as she remembered. She then looked over at Hu Jiao'er’s bed; Hu Jiao'er was lying comfortably on her bed, listening to music with her eyes squinted and feet tapping along to the rhythm. She was the most reassuring person in the dormitory. 0

Well then, since both Shen Xiaomeng and Hu Jiao'er were fine, who was Qinglan comforting? 0

Jiang Liuying leaned in closer to Qinglan and asked, "Who is it? Oh, it's Lin Xi! What happened to her?" 0

"In this world, even the beautiful and composed Lin Mei Mei is crying. Is there any hope left for humanity?" Jiang Liuying exclaimed as she set down what she was holding in surprise. 0

In the past, Qinglan would have exchanged some banter with Jiang Liuying no matter what, but today she wasn't in the mood for that and still wore a worried expression. However, upon hearing Jiang Liuying's voice, Lin Xi straightened up from her position on the bed and gave a shy smile with red eyes. 0

"What happened? Why is our Lin beauty crying? Did our Lanlan bully you? If she did, tell me and I'll help you get back at her," Jiang Liuying said, clenching her fist. 0

Lin Xi couldn't help but laugh through her tears at Jiang Liuying's words. 0

Since Lin Xi often came to the dormitory to hang out with Qinglan and Qinglan got along well with Jiang Liuying, sometimes they would confide in each other without hesitation around Liuying. Therefore, Liuying treated Lin Xi just like she did Qinglan—joking and playing around with her frequently. 0

"Lanlan wouldn't bully me. If she did, I wouldn't let her off easy; I've cared for her since we were little," Lin Xi said as she wiped away her tears with a tissue. 0

"That must be Lu Chenyu," Jiang Liuying continued to ask, "Tell me how he bullied you. Qinglan and I will go to his house and confront him." 0

"You dare!" Lin Xi suddenly jumped up from the bed, hands on her hips, glaring at Jiang Liuying with a feigned angry expression. 0

Qinglan burst into laughter. 0

"Enough, enough. It really is hard for a fair official to settle family disputes. It's thankless work; family members always protect each other, and no matter how deep the sisterly bond, outsiders remain outsiders," Jiang Liuying said, poking Lin Xi's forehead and deliberately gritting her teeth as she added, "Little Ones who prioritize romance over friendship." 0

Qinglan smiled lightly, and Lin Xi couldn't help but chuckle again. 0

Then Qinglan glanced at Hu Jiao'er, who was lying on the bed listening to music. She preferred a quiet environment while enjoying her music. If it were any other day, she would have yelled at Jiang Liuying to keep it down, but today she remained silent, probably out of consideration for Lin Xi. 0

Shen Xiaomeng sat on the bed knitting a scarf, her mood not great and her desire to speak diminished. She probably didn't want any noise during this time; otherwise, given her sharp tongue, she would have engaged in some banter with Jiang Liuying. But today she kept her lips tightly sealed, likely wanting peace. It was said that Hao Chuanze's mother had made another request: if Shen Xiaomeng could go abroad with Hao Chuanze, she would agree to their relationship. 0

When Shen Xiaomeng heard Hao Chuanze's mother negotiating this condition over the phone, she snorted and coldly laughed beside Hao Chuanze. For Shen Xiaomeng, going abroad seemed like a far-fetched dream. Since the day she entered university, she had never considered studying abroad. Her parents were ordinary workers from a small county town; getting into university in Beijing was already a significant achievement for her. At her parents' workplace, it was a big deal that they had a daughter studying in such a prestigious city. Personally, she had never been competitive academically; she always saw herself as a delicate girl whose lifelong dream was romantic love and a warm family. She never thought about going abroad—that was something for top students like Qinglan or ambitious women like Su Hailu with strong family backgrounds. What did it have to do with her? 0

Thus, during this period, Shen Xiaomeng felt not only sadness but also a layer of sarcasm and disdain towards the world. 0

In this world, who still cares about love? Love is a distant and luxurious gift. 0

So Qinglan guessed that Shen Xiaomeng's mood must be terrible and that she needed some quiet. 0

"Let's go talk outside," Qinglan said as she took Lin Xi and Jiang Liuying's hands. 0

The three of them went to a sunny patch of grass at school and sat down to gently inquire about Lin Xi's situation. 0

"Why are you suddenly so sad?" Qinglan asked first. When Lin Xi arrived at her dorm earlier, she hadn't said a word; she just collapsed onto the bed and cried. Qinglan had asked her many questions, but Lin Xi was too choked up to respond. 0

Lin Xi hugged her knees and gazed into the distance or at the sky, remaining silent. 0

"Is it because of Lu Chenyu again?" Qinglan asked next. 0

Qinglan's question touched a nerve with Lin Xi, and she suddenly turned around to embrace Qinglan, sobbing quietly. 0

"Alright, I knew it was because of him. Besides him, who else could make you this sad?" Qinglan said, patting her back. 0

Jiang Liuying sighed nearby. 0

"What are you sighing about? You and Mosen are sweet and happy together," Qinglan said, turning her gaze to Liuying. 0

Liuying pouted playfully at Qinglan, showing off her happiness before the topic shifted back to Lin Xi. 0

"What exactly happened? Speak up; I'm dying of curiosity," Qinglan said, frowning in concern. 0

"Could it be that you broke up with Lu Chenyu?" Jiang Liuying interjected. 0

"Yeah." At this moment, Lin Xi finally pulled away from Qinglan, wiped her tears, and nodded vigorously to confirm that this was indeed true. 0

"No way?" Jiang Liuying's eyes widened in disbelief, while Qinglan glanced at both of them, calmly observing their expressions as if trying to analyze the truth from their faces. Lin Xi nodded again, looking sincere. Besides, someone as honest as Lin Xi never seemed to be dramatic. "What happened? What are you two fussing about now?" After determining the truth, Qinglan asked objectively. 0
