Wang Long opened his eyes and immediately saw more than a dozen people glaring at him with predatory intent. Their gazes were devoid of emotion, sharp as the most cutting ice blades, piercing through him.
"Hmm? Are they the guards of Dragon's Tomb?" Wang Long recognized them by the unique insignia on their black clothing. These guards of Dragon Mound were not allowed to enter Dragon Mound itself, so they could only guard this cliff.
However, for hundreds of years, apart from each generation's Dragon Head, very few dared to enter Dragon Mound, making the guards' work rather idle.
Yet today, they not only encountered someone other than the Dragon Head here but also someone who had emerged from within Dragon Mound!
When did he go in? How did he get in?!
The guard leader, wearing a mask that concealed his appearance and age, rasped, "Who are you? Why are you appearing in Dragon Mound? When exactly did you enter, and what did you do inside?"
Although Wang Long was the son of the Contemporary Dragon Head and was well-known in Dragon City, these guards were different. They had dedicated their lives to guarding the entrance of Dragon Mound and never inquired about matters within Dragon City; thus, they had never seen Wang Long before.
Wang Long knew it was useless to hide the truth and replied, "I am Wang Long, the son of the Contemporary Dragon Head. On the day of the Dragon Gate Ceremony, I was suddenly brought into Dragon Mound by an unknown force. After waking up, I searched for an exit and exerted great effort to climb back up."
"The son of the Dragon Head? You don't know how you entered Dragon Mound? These matters can be easily verified. Come with me; we will confront the Dragon Head directly!" the leader said solemnly.
Wang Long chuckled lightly and said, "Very well, let's go!"
The two walked slowly toward the son of Dragon City along a secluded path from the back mountain outside the city. As they got closer to Dragon City, Wang Long couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. This brush with death made him cherish this world even more. The grass and trees, flowers and plants that were once commonplace now appeared so vibrant and beautiful to him as if he had never truly seen them before.
Upon entering the gates of Dragon City and witnessing so many living beings bustling about yet leading mundane lives, he felt an even stronger urge not to waste time. Since he had been given a second chance at life, he must seize every opportunity to make his life more extraordinary.
Most of the citizens in Dragon City recognized Wang Long. Seeing him suddenly reappear after mysteriously vanishing left them astonished. They looked at him with a mix of wonder and suspicion, pointing and whispering among themselves.
Wang Long paid them no mind, while the guard leader showed no reaction at all, as if he regarded these people as invisible.
In the center of Dragon City stood Ten Thousand Dragon Hall, where the Dragon Head and leaders of various families gathered for discussions. The building was not particularly grand but towered high above everything else in Dragon City, almost visible from anywhere within.
Every day, as the citizens of Dragon City gazed upon the towering roof of Ten Thousand Dragon Hall, they felt a sense of security in their hearts, knowing that no matter what dangers arose, there would always be a Dragon Lord and elders protecting their city.
Dragon Mound Guard Leader silently led Wang Long to the entrance of Ten Thousand Dragon Hall, reporting to the guards at the door. The guard relayed the message step by step into the hall, and after receiving a direct order from the Dragon Head, instructed the two to enter Ten Thousand Dragon Hall to speak.
Wang Long looked up at the towering Ten Thousand Dragon Hall, which seemed to stretch into the clouds with its thousands of steps, sighed lightly, and strode up.
“Dragon Head, esteemed Clan Elders, Dragon Mound Guard Captain Lingfeng requests an audience!”
Upon reaching the entrance of Ten Thousand Dragon Hall, Captain Lingfeng announced loudly.
“Come in!” This voice reached Wang Long's ears, stirring his heart; it was indeed the calm and steady voice of the Contemporary Dragon Head, his own father!
Taking a deep breath, Wang Long stepped inside.
Immediately, he heard gasps of surprise from the clan leaders and elders in the hall, followed by a flurry of discussions and noise, causing the usual solemnity of the hall to dissipate.
“Everyone, let Lingfeng explain the situation first!” The Dragon Head's voice still carried its usual steadiness.
The hall fell silent at once, with many elders looking towards Lingfeng, but even more eyes were fixed on Wang Long, as if trying to uncover his background.
“Report to the Dragon Head, I felt an unusual disturbance in Dragon Mound while on duty. Then I saw this person climbing up from the cliff. He claims to be the son of the Dragon Head and I do not know how he entered Dragon Mound. This matter is significant, and I did not dare to make a decision on my own, so I brought him here for you, Dragon Head, and esteemed Clan Elders to decide!” Lingfeng reported with his head bowed.
“Hmm? You say he climbed up from the cliff of Dragon Mound? When did he enter Dragon Mound, how did he get in, and what did he do inside?” The Dragon Head did not question Wang Long, but instead first interrogated Lingfeng.
“This... I am ashamed; I do not know! I have not been diligent in guarding Dragon Mound, and I am willing to accept punishment!” Lingfeng offered no defense and immediately knelt down to plead guilty.
“Very well. From today onward, Captain's position will be temporarily held by Lingyun. Considering your consistent loyalty, no further punishment will be given. I hope you will be more diligent in the future and redeem yourself! You may leave now!” The Dragon Head said in a deep voice.
Lingfeng dared not defy him in any way and quickly replied, “Yes, I will obey your orders, Dragon Head!”
After saying this, he hurriedly left, leaving only Wang Long standing alone in the spacious hall. In an instant, all eyes were focused on him.
"Wang Long, explain how you entered Dragon Mound and what exactly happened after the Dragon Gate Ceremony that day!" The Dragon Head said in a deep voice, devoid of any fatherly affection.
Wang Long was prepared for this questioning, knowing it would come sooner or later. He immediately replied, "Dragon Head, on that day during my duel with Li Xinghe, when Brother Li delivered that final blow, I knew I could not withstand it and could only close my eyes and await death. Then... I fainted. When I woke up, I found myself in Dragon Mound! Inside Dragon Mound, many remnants of Dragon Soul were howling. I was terrified and hurriedly searched for an exit. "As for how I ended up in Dragon Mound that day, I truly do not know..." Wang Long said fluently. Naturally, he would not easily reveal the matter of the Dragon Duel and could only evade by claiming ignorance.
The Clan Elders listened and began to whisper among themselves, clearly holding deep doubts about Wang Long's account.

"Yes, that's correct."
