Yan Yi Bai was stunned, as if someone had stabbed him fiercely in the heart, and he couldn't help but take two steps back.
He leaned against a nearby table, only to accidentally cut his hand on a scalpel placed on it.
Yet he seemed oblivious to the pain, allowing the blood to flow freely.
"Who is Ruo Yun donating a kidney to?" he asked, staring at the blood gradually spreading on the table, his voice low and heavy.
"Why should I tell you? Even if you knew, could you save Ruo Yun?"
Yan Yi Bai furrowed his brow and turned to look at Ouyang Su.
Seeing the pained expression on Yan Yi Bai's face, Ouyang Su continued to mock him. "But I think you probably wouldn't care about such things now. The person is already dead; who are you putting on this act for? A corpse?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Yan Yi Bai charged forward and punched Ouyang Su in the face.
His hand, already cut by the scalpel, was now bloodied and left marks on Ouyang Su's face.
Ouyang Su was knocked to the ground by the force of the punch.
"Who exactly is Ruo Yun donating a kidney to?" Yan Yi Bai glared at Ouyang Su with a fierce intensity, desperate to know what had happened and why Ruo Yun had died on the operating table.
Ouyang Su wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and stood up.
"Does it even matter who donates a kidney now? Anyway, Ruo Yun is never coming back, so you might as well put away that pathetic look of yours and get lost. Don't disturb the peace of a dead person."
To Ouyang Su, Yan Yi Bai was not only pitiable but also quite detestable.
Yan Yi Bai stepped forward again, intending to strike Ouyang Su, but this time Ouyang Su grabbed his fist and pushed him aside. "Who do you think you are, acting like you can hit anyone you want?"
Yan Yi Bai's face grew increasingly grim and pale.
"Tell me what happened, or I'll burn down this entire hospital," Yan Yi Bai threatened.
Ouyang Su sneered, "What do you think you are?"
"I believe you should understand my strength. I just want to know the truth; otherwise, the consequences will involve more than just the people around you."
Yan Yi Bai's voice was soft, yet each word seemed to carry a chilling weight, sending shivers down one's spine.
Ouyang Su recognized his power and, seeing him in such pain, decided to tell him that it was for Su Ruoyun's mother that the kidney was donated.
Yan Yi Bai was taken aback. "When did this happen?"
Since he was already prepared to speak, Ouyang Su decided to tell Yan Yi Bai everything.
"Her mother was diagnosed with a disease that required a kidney transplant. At that time, Ruo Yun was running around everywhere, trying to raise funds for the surgery while also searching for a kidney source. Her mother's condition had not yet worsened, and we all thought there was still hope."
"She waited desperately for a year, but because the surgery fee was paid a little late, that kidney source was given to someone else. In the end, we found a match, and Ruo Yun's kidney could be donated, so we planned to perform the surgery for her and her mother..."
At this point, Ouyang Su paused for a moment and let out a long sigh.
Over the past year, he had witnessed firsthand how hard Su Ruoyun worked to find a kidney source and how she raised funds for the surgery.
Yan Yi Bai sneered, "Don't think I don't understand anything. If it were just about donating a kidney, there wouldn't be any life-threatening risks. Why did Ruo Yun die here?"
Yan Yi Bai was mentally prepared for the possibility that Su Ruoyun might have passed away for any reason.
He would not let anyone off the hook.
