The Wise One spoke at length, then fell silent. Gu Yan's expression was inscrutable as he tried to recall the person he once was through the Wise One's descriptions, attempting to grasp the madness of risking everything for Siren. 0

In his memories, there was only a blank space, but the emotions etched in his bones remained unchanged. The mere thought that "that Siren might die" sent a sharp pain through his heart, overwhelming him with deep sorrow, making even breathing difficult. 0

He recalled the initial signs of Blue Scale's disturbance, the shock upon seeing that face, the ambiguous behavior of the other person, and finally, the gradual decline of their spirit. Gu Yan suddenly envisioned that stunning face; the brief separation had not blurred their image but made it clearer. He remembered every move, that golden hair, those ocean-blue eyes, every breath during moments of passion, and everything about their time together. 0

He thought of the letter left by his grandfather, which advised him that if he encountered someone who lit up his eyes, he must hold their hand tightly. If he were to give up now and wait until old age and death approached, would he regret it? 0

Gu Yan needed no time to ponder this question. Yes, if he did not seek him out now, if he allowed him to die like this, if their efforts ended in vain, his remaining years would surely be spent in endless regret. He did not want to waste his life away in fatigue. 0

In the past, he had been infatuated with that person, even traveling great distances to find traces of him. Now, he was still captivated by that person; even parting would break his heart. 0

Gu Yan's gaze shifted from confusion to determination. He looked out the window at the azure sea and sky, remained silent for a long time, then slowly stood up. 0

The Wise One watched Gu Yan and smiled knowingly. "It seems you have made your decision," he said. 0

Gu Yan nodded, relief washing over his face. "Thank you for telling me so much, Elder. Any further delay would be torture for me; please forgive me as I take my leave." 0

With that, Gu Yan bowed deeply to the Wise One and walked toward the door. Just as he was about to pull open the slightly ajar door, a voice called out from behind him: "Young friend, please wait; there is one more thing. A few months ago, your father visited my humble abode and entrusted me with a message for you should you find your way back here." The Wise One paused before continuing, "He said to go ahead." 0

Gu Yan did not turn around or respond at all; it was as if he were deaf to the words spoken behind him. But the Wise One knew he had heard. 0

Then Gu Yan opened the door. In an instant, light flooded into the room from outside, dispelling the darkness within completely. His figure stood against the light, casting a tall and slender shadow on the ground as if gilded in gold. 0

After a moment, a barely audible "I understand" drifted in with the wind. 0

The door was carefully closed by the departing figure while the Wise One remained seated in his wicker chair without moving an inch. 0

His thoughts drifted back many years when he happened upon this fishing village and heard a tale of a lovesick man and Merfolk. They faced numerous trials before finally being united; the lovesick man recorded everything in detail. The handwriting in that book mirrored that of his ancestors' notes. 0

It was then that he decided to live in seclusion here. 0

Given Gu Yan's meticulous nature, it would have been easy for him to notice that without prolonged personal contact with Merfolk, one could not describe such intricate details so precisely. Yet he overlooked this question. 0

"Concern leads to confusion," he murmured to himself as he gazed at the unchanging sky. "Youth is indeed wonderful..." 0

At the dock, people were bustling about transporting goods while nearby a ship's whistle buzzed, signaling departure to surrounding vessels. People hurried along with foreign soil on their shoes as they embarked on their journey toward the sea. 0

"Mr. Gu, where are we going?" a sailor approached Gu Yan and asked. 0

"We're heading into the depths of the Ocean. If we follow this route, something will guide us in the right direction," Gu Yan replied. 0

"Something... what kind of something?" the sailor asked, puzzled. 0

Gu Yan gazed into the distance and said, "You'll find out when the time comes. Just set off." 0

The sailor nodded reluctantly and left the deck to report to the captain at the control station. 0

Gu Yan leaned against the railing, watching the Albatross soaring in the sky. A faint smile crept onto his lips as he murmured, "This place will guide us to our reunion." 0

His hand slowly moved to his chest, where the scales were gently warming, filling his entire chest with a comforting heat. 0

It was midnight again, and the starry sky sparkled like scattered diamonds on velvet, twinkling with tiny starlight. 0

Gu Yan suddenly woke from his dreams, breathing rapidly, his heart pounding inexplicably like a drum, making it impossible to ignore. 0

Since venturing deeper into the ocean, Blue Scale had shown signs of disturbance every night. He had woken from sleep more than once but had not seen that longed-for figure. 0

However, tonight felt different; an indescribable connection compelled him to abandon sleep. Gu Yan rolled out of bed, put on his shoes, and stepped outside the cabin. The ship continued its journey into the depths of the Ocean without pause, like an arrow shot from land into the sea. 0

Gu Yan brushed his hair back from his forehead; the cool sea breeze lightly tickled his temples, making him feel a bit itchy. 0

He leaned against the railing, aimlessly staring at the nearby sea surface. The gently undulating waves seemed never-ending; as one broke, another rose anew. 0

It appeared that there was still no news today. 0

After an unknown amount of time, his eyes grew tired, and he finally felt a hint of fatigue. He straightened up from the railing and planned to leave the deck and return to his room to endure this long night destined for insomnia. 0

Just as he turned around, a sudden splash echoed behind him as if something had burst from the sea, sending up a huge spray of water. 0

Gu Yan shivered; his throat felt dry. He quickly turned around only to find it was just a dolphin leaping out of the water, seemingly playing with its companions. 0

Disappointment washed over him; he sighed softly and lowered his eyelids to hide the disappointment lurking in his eyes. He forced a bitter smile and intended to leave. However, in the next moment, Gu Yan's heart skipped a beat as he sensed something and looked down, suddenly locking eyes with a pair of deep-set eyes. 0

Under the starlight, very close to the ship's side stood a familiar figure in the water—golden hair like seaweed flowing in the current, blue scales covering its waist downwards just like those on Gu Yan's own chest, along with smooth muscle lines and that exquisite, familiar face. 0

Gu Yan opened his mouth but found himself unable to make a sound. It wasn't until he tasted saltiness at his lips that he realized tears had begun to flow down his cheeks without him noticing. His hands gripped tightly onto the railing beneath him until veins bulged out. In the next second, he leaped over the high protective railing with determination and urgency and jumped into the water beside the ship. 0

With a loud splash, a heavy object fell into the sea. The Siren's pupils constricted sharply as it quickly dove underwater toward where the splash occurred, its face showing an unusual panic. 0

Just halfway through swimming, a head suddenly broke through the surface of the water and wrapped around that beautiful Siren. 0

Gu Yan's eyelashes were drenched; his clothes were soaked through and looked quite disheveled. Yet his eyes sparkled brightly as he stared intently at this Siren before him, unwilling to look away. 0

The Siren stood still, gazing at Gu Yan's face, and suddenly smiled. 0

One of Gu Yan's hands moved to his chest, pushing aside the shirt that clung to him, revealing a blue tattoo and shimmering scales. Without hesitation, he grasped a corner of the Blue Scale and tore it off violently. A sharp pain shot through his chest as cold sweat beaded on his forehead, mingling with the salty seawater that flowed down his cheeks. 0

A metallic scent filled the water as the torn scale remained attached to flesh. The moment it left Gu Yan's body, it shattered into fragments, emitting an even brighter glow. 0

At that moment, a Miracle descended. 0

Dazzling blue light radiated from that small source, illuminating the dim sea like daylight. They could clearly see each other's faces, and time seemed to stand still. 0

The light enveloped them, warm and comforting like sunlight. Gu Yan's chest wound healed rapidly, scabbing over and falling away, leaving only a faint mark that testified to the excruciating pain he endured when he tore off the Blue Scale to return it to his beloved. 0

More light surged into the Siren's body, infusing him with a mysterious energy that revitalized his once-dull eyes. The Siren could feel his vitality returning to him. 0

In an instant, Gu Yan's mind flooded with memories like a dam breaking. He finally recalled everything—the fleeting heartbeat from ten years ago, the years of relentless pursuit, and the deep-seated joy of love. 0

Past memories intertwined with present ones, transforming into profound affection and dependence that flowed from his eyes to the other. Their unspoken thoughts resonated with each other. 0

"Whether I have memories or not, I truly fell into your hands..." 0

This sentence was carried away by the sea breeze, ultimately dissipating into the air. 0

Gu Yan tightened his embrace around the Siren and caressed those soulful blue eyes. "My Siren, I finally caught you." 0

The Siren looked at Gu Yan as if gazing at the most precious treasure. After a long silence, his voice returned once more—his unique celestial voice reached Gu Yan's ears: "I am willing to be your captive. My Gu Yan." 0

Tonight there was no moon, only stars for company. 0
