Gao Huaizhong followed behind me at a leisurely pace.
As I entered the room and was about to close the door, Gao Huaizhong suddenly reached out and pressed against the door.
I was startled and quickly let go.
Gao Huaizhong walked in and shut the door behind him.
He looked at me and said coldly, "Did you have fun?"
I was taken aback, staring at him blankly.
Gao Huaizhong stepped closer, lowering his head to gaze into my eyes.
"Hao Jing, I remember that slap from three years ago."
"Not a moment has passed in these three years without thoughts of you."
"I know you are with Guo Naidong; I can't accept it, I'm jealous, I wish I could just take you back."
"But you never look back."
"You only look forward, never turning back to see me."
My heart raced uncontrollably, and my breathing quickened.
The anger in Gao Huaizhong's eyes intensified as he grabbed my shoulders and forcefully pressed me against the door.
"Hao Jing, how can you be so heartless!"
I endured the pain and looked up at him.
"Gao Huaizhong, I..."
Before I could finish my sentence, Gao Huaizhong sealed my lips with his.
His kiss was fierce, domineering, and urgent.
My breath was stolen away, and my mind went blank.
By the time I regained my senses, I found myself in his arms.
His chest was hard and broad as I nestled against him, listening to his rapid heartbeat, feeling ripples in my heart.
It turned out that my feelings had never changed.
When I woke up, my cheeks were burning.
I turned my face and found Gao Huaizhong lying beside me.
His long eyelashes were thick and curled in the light, making him look stunning.
I sat up and was about to get out of bed when a long arm suddenly reached around my waist.
Gao Huaizhong's voice was hoarse but firm.
"Trying to run away again? Not happening."
I turned around and headed to the bathroom to take a shower.
Gao Huaizhong propped himself up on his elbow, watching me with a smile.
"What are you thinking about?"
I pressed my lips together, the scenes from last night flashing through my mind.
I took a deep breath, trying to shake off those explicit images.
"Go take a shower, and after that, we’ll go get the certificate."
I turned to look at him, feeling helpless. "Didn’t you think I might refuse you?"
Gao Huaizhong smiled knowingly, unfazed.
"I can tell you’re willing."
His words caught me off guard, and my ears involuntarily turned red.
I muttered under my breath, "Old pervert."
Gao Huaizhong laughed heartily and threw off the covers as he got out of bed.
"Alright, I’m a pervert."
He walked toward me with a smile playing on his lips.
Feeling flustered under his gaze, I quickly turned and entered the bathroom.
Standing in front of the mirror, I pulled up my long hair, exposing my fair neck.
Gao Huaizhong pushed the door open and looked at me from a distance.
For some reason, my nose felt a bit sour.
"You are right. I was indeed too young back then and overlooked your affection."
After leaving Gao Huaizhong, all my paintings were filled with passion and flamboyance.
But over the eight years, Gao Huaizhong nurtured my spirit.
He was right; how could I not understand the love in his eyes?
I simply subconsciously ignored it, unwilling to believe.
Gao Huaizhong sighed and walked over to stand beside me.
He looked at me in the mirror and said solemnly, "I was wrong too."
"I still feel regret and anger whenever I think of the moment you ran away."
"I didn't expect you to be so resolute, not caring at all for your own safety."
"Hao Jing, you've grown up; you're no longer that impulsive child."
I looked at him and tentatively took a few steps forward.
I held his fingers and softly said, "Gao Huaizhong, I'm not a girl anymore."
Gao Huaizhong remained silent for a long time before slowly raising his hand to tousle my long hair.
"This looks good too."
I smiled lightly and said, "Let's wait a bit longer, Gao Huaizhong."
I didn't call him "uncle," keeping that feeling hidden deep in my heart.
