V exerted force to open the broken roof of the car, staring intently at the wreckage inside. The car was empty, with no sign of Takemura or Hanako, only large patches of blood scattered messily across the seats and interior, appearing particularly horrifying. These bloodstains silently told the story of the brutal accident, and V could sense that both individuals must have suffered serious injuries when they fell from the sky.
V's gaze then turned to the other side of the car door, where not far away on the road, he saw the figure of a woman in a white suit, lying on the ground, her body covered in blood, turning the once pristine suit into a deep red, a scene that appeared especially desolate and abrupt in the night.
V's heart tightened as he quickly jumped out of the car and approached the woman lying on the ground. As he got closer, V became more certain that the woman was Hanako. She lay there quietly, her face pale and the bloodstains on her body were heart-wrenching. V squatted down, gently shaking Hanako in the hope of a response, but he knew deep down that there was little hope left.
At that moment, V's heart felt like it had been struck by a heavy hammer. Despite the complex emotions between him and Hanako, he never wished for this kind of ending. V looked around, trying to find any trace of Takemura, but apart from the bloodstains and shattered debris, he found nothing.
V took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. He knew that now was not the time to indulge in sadness. Adam was still outside, and the crisis in Night City was far from over.
V gently turned Hanako's body over to face her stiffened face. Hanako's neck was at an unnatural angle, proving that she had lost her life to Adam's terrifying power. Her face was devoid of color, her eyes wide open, not even closed, as if witnessing unspeakable horror before death.
Looking at Hanako's final expression, a sense of indescribable sorrow and anger surged in V's heart. Hanako's eyes seemed to reflect extreme fear and despair in her final moments, a scene deeply etched in V's mind, causing him waves of pain. He couldn't imagine the fear Hanako experienced in her final moments.
V gently closed Hanako's eyes, trying to preserve her dignity in death. He knew that Hanako's death was not the end, and the destruction and killing caused by Adam were far from over. Standing up, V took a deep breath, transforming his grief and anger into the driving force for action.
At this moment, V understands more than ever that he must continue forward, not just for Hanako, but also for all the people hurt by Adam. He must find Adam and put an end to all this terror.
V stands up silently, filled with heaviness and determination. In the nearby street corner, he sees the figure of Takemura leaning against the wall. Takemura's head hangs low, and there are violent impact marks on the nearby wall, clearly caused by Adam throwing with force. The ground is scattered with a large amount of bloodstains, silently telling V the grim scene that Takemura died from severe blood loss.
V approached Takemura, squatted down, and gently touched his shoulder. Takemura was once his comrade, and despite the complex emotions between them, it was undeniable that Takemura had often provided V with help and support. Seeing him sitting quietly in the corner, life forever frozen in this moment, a wave of sadness surged in V's heart.
V knew he couldn't stay here for too long. The terror and destruction of Adam were still ongoing, and he had to act quickly to find Adam and end it all. But at this moment, he still gave Takemura the final respect, softly saying, " Takemura, you are a warrior, your sacrifice will not be forgotten. I will continue to move forward until I end Adam."
After speaking, V stood up, took a deep breath, and forced himself to look away from Takemura. He knew that the road ahead was still long, and the challenges might be even more daunting, but he was ready. For honor, for all those who had been harmed because of Adam, he would fight tirelessly until the very end.
Just as V was about to leave, the sound of a fleet of vehicles speeding down the street suddenly rang out. V looked closely and was shocked to find that these were indeed the vehicles of Arasaka, the insignia of the vehicles was unmistakable. At that moment, V subconsciously wanted to escape, knowing full well that his mission to protect Hanako had completely failed. Under the cold and ruthless logic of the corporation, there was only one way to deal with a failure—complete elimination.
Just as V decided to escape from the Arasaka convoy, trying to avoid potential pursuit and retaliation, his vision suddenly blurred, and an ominous red warning sign flashed before his eyes, displaying the words "System Intrusion." His body stiffened, and the steps he had intended to take to flee came to a halt. He felt every movement becoming abnormally slow, almost uncontrollable.
An unknown fear surged in V's heart. He had never imagined being hacked at this moment, let alone finding himself immobilized. Just then, a voice sounded in his ear, not through external sound, but directly in his mind, revealing the hacker's exceptional skills.
"V, don't even think about escaping," the voice said coldly. "You still have a purpose. We don't intend to end your life just yet, at least not now."
V wanted to resist, to respond, but he found that he had lost the ability to speak. His Artificial eye system and some internal connection devices no longer seemed to obey him. He reluctantly realized that he was completely under the control of the attacker at this moment.
"Don't worry, as long as you listen to us, we will give you a chance," the voice continued, "Night City is in chaos right now, and Adam's situation is not over. Arasaka needs you, at least, that's what they think now."
