Edric and Feren have only one goal in mind, which is to escape to the town ahead and leave this forest filled with the stench of death. Their breath is rapid, their hearts pounding wildly, and every step they take seems to remind them that death is close behind. The roar of the Lion echoes constantly in their ears, turning the once peaceful wilderness into a place of extreme danger.
Every step is a struggle, and Feren feels his legs growing heavier with each passing moment, requiring immense effort to lift them. His muscles are twitching constantly, and each breath is filled with pain and despair. However, he knows he cannot stop, cannot let himself fall, because death is relentlessly chasing them from behind.
Edric has been through countless battles, but this endless escape has left him feeling more exhausted than ever before. Flashes of darkness occasionally cross his mind, but he grits his teeth, forcing himself to stay alert and keep moving forward. His gaze is firm, constantly vigilant for potential dangers around him.
Their destination is clear - that town is their only refuge, but the difficulties and fears along the way make every second feel like an eternity. Feren sweats profusely, his gaze fixed only on the road ahead, clinging to the hope of survival.
On the way, Edric frequently looked back to make sure that the terrifying Lion did not approach again. Every move he made seemed very tense and careful. He knew that in such a life-and-death moment, even a small mistake could lead to irreparable consequences.
Although they had already left the forest, the shadow of fear still loomed over them. The shadow of the Lion seemed to linger in their hearts, unwilling to leave. They could only continue forward, forward, until they saw the outline of the town, until they felt a hint of safety.
However, the Lion did not let them off so easily. Its roar still echoed in the air, making people tremble with fear. In this land, life and death hung by a thread, and they had to keep running, only for survival, only to keep hope alive in their hearts.
In such a desperate situation, Feren and Edric seemed to have regained their initial strength in their legs. Their hearts were filled with hope, as long as they could make it to the town, they might be able to escape the pursuit of this terrifying Lion. They ran faster with each step, each breath filled with urgency and anticipation.
The field of vision ahead gradually widened, and Feren saw two guards leisurely standing at the entrance of the town, seemingly unaware of the danger outside. He felt extremely anxious, knowing that if the guards didn't prepare in time, the consequences would be unimaginable.
He shouted at the top of his lungs, "Quick, hurry up! There's an Asra Lion chasing us from behind! Get ready quickly!"
However, the guard seemed to completely ignore his warning and continued chatting about something. Feren was burning with urgency, knowing that every second of delay could be a deadly danger.
Edric was also shouting, but the sound of the wind and their running seemed to drown out their warnings.
Feren watched as the guards' figures drew closer, but they remained unresponsive. Despair filled his heart as he wondered if they would safely reach the town and if the guards would react in time.
As Feren and Edric rapidly approached the village, their shouts finally caught the attention of the guards. However, it seemed that the guards did not fully understand the situation before them. They only saw Edric's urgent running and Feren's continuous shouting, assuming it was some ordinary dispute or pursuit.
Feren looked at the guard who had placed a long spear across the entrance to the village, blocking their way. Anxiety and fear surged through his mind like a flood. He almost wanted to cry, knowing that if they stopped now, the terrifying Lion would immediately pounce on them.
"No, no! It's the Lion chasing us from behind!" Feren almost cried out, his voice echoing in the air, but the guards still seemed puzzled.
Edric also showed an eager and anxious look on his face. He knew they didn't have time to explain. He desperately waved and shouted at the guards, trying to make them understand that this was not the situation they had imagined.
"Open the door, quickly! There's a Lion chasing us from behind!" Edric also shouted loudly, his eyes filled with pleading. However, seeing the guards still hesitating, Edric finally lost his patience. He roared at the guards, "You idiots! Do you want to wait to die here? Open the door!"
The guards hesitated for a moment, looking at the panic on the faces of Feren and Edric, seeming somewhat shaken. But they still dared not easily release their defenses, after all, they were also afraid of the unknown dangers outside.
However, at that moment, the roar of the Lion echoed in the air again, and its figure appeared clearly in the guards' field of vision. The guards finally realized the danger, and they looked in horror as the giant creature rapidly approached. The fear in their hearts made them no longer hesitate. Their faces suddenly turned pale, and the spears in their hands trembled.
Edric and Feren urgently rushed towards the entrance of the village, their hearts filled with fear and anxiety driving their steps. As they neared the entrance, the roar of the Lion echoed continuously behind them. Two guards, upon seeing the terrifying figure of the Lion, were completely stunned, standing stiffly in place, gripping their spears tightly but unsure of what to do.
Edric quickly noticed the torches on either side of the village entrance, and he swiftly picked up one, the sparks leaping and casting a majestic light. He raised the torch high and brandished it towards the Lion, attempting to threaten and drive it away.
Lion seems to be afraid of the torch, its steps are somewhat hesitant, although still roaring, but no longer rushing forward. There is a hint of vigilance and fear in its eyes, obviously deterred by the light and the hot flames of the torch.
Feren and the guards felt somewhat relieved to see Edric holding Lion at bay with the torch. But they knew it was only temporary; once the flames of the torch went out, Lion would pounce on them without hesitation.
The torch continued to flicker in Edric's hand, and the stalemate between Lion seemed to slow down time. Every second felt like a racing heartbeat, with pressure and anxiety hanging in the air, waiting for what was about to happen next.
