As the standoff dragged on, Feren gradually regained his courage. He tightly grasped another torch and quickly walked to Edric's side, facing the fierce Lion together. The dancing flames and the determined gaze of the two seemed to impose some pressure on the Lion, causing it to slowly retreat while still maintaining a vigilant posture, occasionally roaring at them. 0

In this life-and-death moment, time seemed to slow down significantly. The figures of Feren and Edric appeared so small in the blazing firelight, while the threat of the Lion seemed like an insurmountable Da Shan. The torches in their hands continued to wave, and every spark seemed to illuminate the fear and determination in their hearts. 0

The surrounding crowd initially kept their distance, watching the confrontation between them and the Lion, filled with panic and unease. The roar of the Lion made everyone's heart shrink, this was the terror of the wild, a threat they had never experienced before. The scene before them made them feel the fragility of life, and also moved them by the courage of Edric and Feren. 0

As time passed, there were low murmurs within the crowd. They watched the two standing steadfast in front of the Lion, continuously waving torches, and their fear gradually replaced by courage and anger. Yes, this was their home, they couldn't let a wild beast have its way. 0

Finally, a brave young man picked up a stone from the ground, tightly grasped it in his hand, and walked out to stand beside Feren and Edric. His eyes were filled with determination, and although his arm trembled slightly, his gaze was firm. 0

With the appearance of the first person, more people from the crowd began to come out, holding whatever they could find, such as stones, wooden sticks, and even farming tools. They knew that only by uniting could they possibly drive away this terrifying Lion. 0

Edric and Feren felt the support of the crowd and a warm feeling surged in their hearts. They were no longer fighting alone, but had the support of the entire community. This made their backs feel less cold and their courage even more firm. 0

The power of the crowd was gradually growing. They shouted loudly together, showing their determination and courage to Lion. In the face of this united force, even the mighty Lion began to appear hesitant and uneasy. Its roar gradually became low, and it began to retreat, disappearing into the dark forest and out of the sight of the crowd. 0

When the shadow of the Lion disappeared into the distant forest, Feren and Edric finally felt an unprecedented exhaustion. Their bodies almost simultaneously slid to the ground, sitting weakly in the mud. At that moment, they seemed to feel nothing but exhaustion in their hearts. 0

The surrounding crowd, however, was in high spirits, enthusiastically cheering and celebrating this rare victory. They felt an unprecedented excitement and relief because they successfully drove away the terrifying Lion and protected their homeland. 0

Several middle-aged men hurried over and carefully helped Feren and Edric to their feet. The village elder also assisted, his eyes filled with gratitude and concern. When he recognized Feren among them, he couldn't help but feel surprised. 0

" Feren, how did you get involved in this situation?" the village elder asked in shock, his eyes filled with worry. 0

Feren smiled wryly as he struggled to stand firm, taking a deep breath before wearily replying, "Village chief, this is a long story. Let's find a place for Edric to rest first." As he finished speaking, Edric suddenly went limp and fell forward. Feren and the village chief rushed to support him, but Edric had already lost consciousness, his face pale and his breathing weak. 0

The nearby crowd couldn't help but let out a gasp at the sight. The village elder quickly instructed a few people to carefully help Edric into a nearby house and called for the village healer to come and check on him. 0

Following the village elder's instructions, several strong men swiftly carried Edric to the village elder's home. They carefully laid him on a soft bed, ensuring that his head and body were placed comfortably. In this small village, the village elder's home was relatively spacious and comfortable, making it more suitable for Edric to rest there. 0

With a hurried pace, Village doctor tightly grasped his herbal medicine box and quickly arrived at the home of village elder. Concern and urgency were evident in his eyes, as everyone in this small town was like a member of one big family. Pushing the door open, he saw Edric lying in bed, looking pale. The anxious gazes of Feren and village elder also made him tense up. 0

Approaching Edric's bed, he quickly checked his breathing and heartbeat, feeling slightly relieved that at least his life was temporarily safe. However, as he carefully examined Edric's injuries from his escape, it was clear that he had sustained quite a few wounds, causing the doctor to furrow his brow. 0

"Multiple abrasions, severe bone fractures, these injuries are not light." Village doctor murmured to himself as he gently pressed on Edric's bones, trying to determine the location and severity of the fractures. 0

He then took out several bottles and packages from the herbal medicine box, which contained various types of herbs. He selected the needed herbs, carefully ground them, and then mixed them with warm water to make a paste. He carefully applied the herbal paste to Edric's wounds, every movement cautious and delicate, afraid of causing him any pain. 0

He wrapped the bandage tightly around Edric, securing his fractured area, and then applied some anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving ointment. As he worked, he continued to talk to the village elder, explaining Edric's injuries and the upcoming treatment plan. 0

Feren stood nearby, anxiously watching every move of the village doctor, his worry making it almost impossible for him to stay calm. Seeing the village doctor carefully bandage Edric, he felt a little relieved. 0

As Village doctor completed his actions, he exchanged a glance with village elder, both expressing a hint of relief and gratitude in their eyes. At least, Edric's life was temporarily secured, giving them more time to plan their next move. 0
