After that exhilarating victory, everyone in the team was immersed in an indescribable joy. But for Lin Shiyong, amidst this joy, a feeling she had never experienced before quietly took root—her emotions for Gu Jincheng had transcended the trust and respect shared among teammates.

In the park, gentle moonlight spilled over the winding path as Lin Shiyong sat on a bench, waiting for Gu Jincheng's arrival. Soon, Gu Jincheng appeared in her line of sight. He was wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans, walking with a steady and relaxed pace.
"You've come." Lin Shiyong stood up, feeling a bit nervous.
Gu Jincheng nodded and sat down beside her. "Yes, did you need something from me?"
Lin Shiyong took a deep breath, trying to make his tone sound more relaxed. "Actually, I just wanted to talk to you. Since the competition, I've been thinking that our collaboration is more than just simple understanding... Gu Jincheng did not respond immediately; he listened quietly, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes.
Lin Shiyong observed his reaction with some unease, secretly regretting whether she had been too impulsive. She quickly added, "Of course, I'm not entirely sure either; I just feel that... I should talk to you honestly about my feelings."
Gu Jincheng finally spoke, his voice still calm. "Shiyong, I'm glad you could express your feelings so honestly. There is indeed a special understanding between us, and I cannot deny that. You are an outstanding and charming teammate, and fighting alongside you has been a precious experience for me. However, regarding the feelings you mentioned, I need time to think and understand."
Lin Shiyong felt a weight lift off her shoulders as she heard this. She smiled gently and said, "I understand. I don't want to rush for an answer either; I just feel that you should know my true feelings."
Gu Jincheng nodded, his eyes reflecting gratitude towards Lin Shiyong. "Thank you for your honesty. This gives me a new perspective. Regardless of the outcome, our friendship will remain unchanged."
The two then talked about many topics related to e-sports and life, as if trying to ease the heavy atmosphere from earlier with these light conversations.
Lin Shiyong crossed his arms and gazed at the shimmering surface of the lake in the distance. Suddenly, he spoke up, "You know, I was really afraid of the dark when I was a kid. I always thought there were all sorts of monsters living in the park at night."
Gu Jincheng turned to look at her, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "So, how about now? Are you still scared?"

The conversation between the two was always filled with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Lin Shiyong suddenly remembered something and turned to Gu Jincheng, saying, "By the way, Jincheng, besides esports, what other hobbies do you have? We always talk about competitions and strategies, but rarely discuss anything else."
Gu Jincheng pondered for a moment and replied, "I enjoy reading, especially books on strategy and psychology. They greatly help me analyze competitions and the mindset of my opponents."
Lin Shiyong's eyes lit up. "Wow, that's so profound! Can we go to the bookstore together next time? I also want to see if I can learn some techniques to improve myself."

Gu Jincheng smiled and agreed, thinking that perhaps it was a good thing to occasionally relax and explore the beauty of life with Lin Shiyong.
As night deepened, their conversation shifted from gaming to various aspects of life. They laughed and chatted, enjoying this rare moment of ease and harmony. Unbeknownst to them, the park's lights became softer, and everything around them seemed particularly quiet, with only their laughter gently echoing in the air.
Lin Shiyong glanced at his watch and was surprised to find that it was already late. "Wow, we actually talked for so long. I didn't even realize time passed so quickly."
Gu Jincheng stood up and stretched. "It's time to head back; we have training tomorrow. Tonight's conversation made me feel very relaxed, thank you."

Lin Shiyong turned his head, hopping lightly as he replied, "Yeah, tonight feels especially good. Don't you think this carefree feeling is great?"
Gu Jincheng chuckled softly, "It really is nice. But I'm more curious about why you've suddenly become so optimistic."
Lin Shiyong stopped, turned to face Gu Jincheng, and spread her hands. "Because I believe that as long as we put in the effort, nothing is impossible. Just like tonight's conversation, even though we didn't have particularly profound topics, I can feel that the distance between us has gotten closer. Don't you think?"
Gu Jincheng stopped and looked at her seriously. "Yes, I agree. Although our personalities and preferences are different, that's exactly what makes our conversations enjoyable."
Lin Shiyong's eyes lit up, unable to resist teasing him, "Wow, Gu Jincheng, I’ve noticed you’re particularly talkative tonight."

The two looked at each other and smiled, then continued to walk slowly down the street. Everything around them seemed particularly quiet, with only their conversation and laughter occasionally breaking the silence.
Lin Shiyong suddenly brightened up, as if recalling something amusing: "You know, when I was a kid, I once tried to make a parachute out of a bedsheet and jumped off the bookshelf at home. As you can imagine, I fell straight to the ground and almost cried."
Gu Jincheng couldn't help but laugh after hearing that. "So, what have you learned since then?"
