"Go away!" Alixia suddenly opened her eyes and shouted. A powerful spiritual energy surged, forming a barrier that forcefully pushed the four people backward.
"What the heck is this!" John cursed under his breath, but his reaction was quick as he immediately picked up the fallen handgun from the ground.
At that moment, the ground cracked open next to the fissure, and several rat people rushed out from it. These rat people were completely naked, their skin covered in mud and bloodstains. Driven by their wild instincts, they aggressively pounced on John and his group.
John immediately snapped into action, shouting, "Open fire! Use your weapons to take them down!"
John, holding the Mk14 energy pistol, immediately opened fire and accurately hit a rat-man that was about to pounce on him. The energy bullet exploded, blowing it to pieces.
Karenmu raised his heavy warhammer, his eyes filled with the passion of battle and faith. He charged towards a group of rat-men gathered together, lifting the warhammer high and smashing it down with force. A bright light flashed, and several rat-men were shattered by the power of the warhammer.
Alixia also reacted, waving her star dart gun, and shooting out waves of spiritual cutting energy, hitting another rat person that was about to approach.
Taktron quickly found a small electronic bomb from his device and threw it towards the group of rat people. As the bomb exploded, it emitted a high-frequency electromagnetic wave, causing the rat people to momentarily lose their direction.
"Quick, the opportunity is here!" John shouted as he raised his laser gun, shooting down the approaching rat people one by one.
As they dealt with the last of the rat people, John took a deep breath, his eyes filled with exhaustion and vigilance.
"These damn creatures, what's going on with them? Alixia, what did you just do?" he asked.
Alixia smiled slightly, but her smile was not easy: "I felt the presence of chaos, very strong, almost making me lose control. Something is wrong here, we must find out as soon as possible."
John tightly gripped his gun and nodded, "Alright, we can't stay here for long, let's keep moving."
The four of them set off again, delving deeper into this underground world full of unknown dangers. But they all knew that this was just the tip of the iceberg, the terror in the depths of Yakannix Planet was far beyond what they had encountered. Every step forward meant new unknowns and greater dangers. However, they had no choice but to press on bravely.
John tightly gripped the weapon in his hand and walked heavily towards the purple crystal where the explosion had just occurred. The smoke and dust still lingered in the air, as if it were a warning of the impending unease he was about to face. He gazed at the large pit beneath his feet, the soil and rocks appearing extremely loose, as if they could collapse at any moment.
"This isn't right..." John muttered under his breath, a sense of alertness filling his mind.
"Everyone, quickly retreat! Go upstairs!" John urgently turned around, shouting loudly to Alixia, Taktron, and Karenmu.
However, just at that moment, the earth and rocks in the pit suddenly began to loosen, as if there was a giant beast thrashing underground. The ground first trembled slightly, then more and more strongly, as if the entire planet was protesting against this invasion.
"Sacred machines, protect us!" Karenmu prayed loudly, trying to steady herself at the same time.
Alixia quickly regained her balance, but still felt an indescribable sense of unease. Taktron hurriedly activated his device, attempting to find the cause of this sudden turn of events.
However, it was too late.
The ground beneath the four suddenly shook violently, as if being pulled by an indescribable force. The entire environment seemed to be becoming distorted and unreal, and everyone felt a tremendous downward pull.
"What are you holding onto!" John shouted for the last time, but his voice was almost drowned out by the sudden change that followed.
With a deafening roar, the four of them finally lost their balance and began to uncontrollably fall downward, as if being sucked into a dark, bottomless abyss.
The whole world became a blur, with only the falling speed and the indescribable fear. All four of them understood that they were facing an unknown and terrifying situation, and it was far from over.
After a rough landing, John felt his body land heavily on some soft, spongy object. A nauseating smell hit him, and he quickly realized that they had landed in a pile of corpses made up of a large number of rat people.
John struggled to stand up from the pile of corpses, suppressing the discomfort in his stomach. "Is everyone okay?" he asked loudly.
Alixia flicked her hair with her hand and said, "I'm still alive, but this situation is really not suitable for the noble status of the Eldar."
Taktron brushed off the dust from his body and said, "Luckily these corpses provide some cushioning, I'm okay."
Karenmu didn't even lift his head, just busy checking if his mechanical device was damaged, then muttered, "The god of machines will protect me, I'm fine."
John glanced around and saw a dimly lit open space filled with rat-like corpses. "What kind of creatures are these? I've never seen anything like them before."
Alixia furrowed her brow. "Whatever they are, they're definitely related to chaos."
Taktron began quickly inputting on his data slate, browsing through a large amount of information. After a few minutes, he looked up and said, "I've found some interesting information. A long time ago, there were records of a creature called 'Skaven.' But they should have been extinct, so what's going on?"
Karenmu finally stopped and looked up at them, "Skaven, huh? If they are truly connected to chaos, then we may be facing an even greater threat."
John nodded, "Anyway, we need to find a way out and report all of this. There must be more here that we need to understand."
Everyone nodded in agreement. Despite being in a dangerous situation, at least now they knew that the enemies they were facing might be far more dangerous than they had imagined.
