Alixia coldly interjected, "But we also need to be careful. Skaven not only have a large number, but their tactics are much smarter than you imagine."
John tightly gripped his gun, "I understand, but this is our best chance. We can't let it slip away."
Karenmu stood silently on the side, his gaze passing over the Ratman Kingdom and landing on a more distant place, as if searching for the chaotic power hidden in the darkness.
When Taktron completed the final information scan and confirmed the suspicious military factory location, John pulled down his tactical helmet, and the atmosphere of the mercenary team became even more tense. He knew that from this moment on, they were about to embark on a path of no return.
"Listen up, everyone," John began, his voice amplified clearly through the helmet's speakers. "The enemy we are about to face has a significant numerical advantage. However, the chaotic and corrupted rat people have a weakness, which is their disorganized structure and lack of efficient command system. We must exploit this and swiftly break through their defenses, carving a path to complete our mission."
John took out a tactical tablet displaying a three-dimensional map of the military factory and the estimated enemy deployment. "Karenmu, as the vanguard, use your giant hammer to break open a path. Alixia, you are responsible for front-line output attacks. Use your star dart gun and shotgun to reduce the enemy numbers as much as possible. Taktron, your task is to continuously analyze enemy movements and provide auxiliary support. I will protect the team from the rear and provide necessary firepower support."
Alixia nodded gracefully, briefly displaying her star dart gun, seemingly expressing her confidence in the mission. Karenmu gripped his massive hammer tightly, his expression still that of unwavering seriousness. Taktron quickly tapped on his data pad, making a Tau-specific subtle smiling expression, indicating his readiness.
"Then it's settled," John said, his voice becoming low but firm, "Deathwing Mercenary Corps, officially open for business. Let the corrupted ratlings feel the embrace of death!"
Everyone nodded, and even Karenmu showed a hint of excitement in his eyes. They each checked their equipment to ensure everything was in order. John double-checked the status of the communication devices and various weapons before giving the command to move forward.
The mercenaries formed a tight formation, just as John had planned. Karenmu led the way with his giant hammer, while Alixia and John flanked him on either side. Taktron remained at the back, constantly operating his data board to gather battlefield information.
They took a deep breath and then rushed into the darkness of the underground. Every step was determined, every shot was fate. They knew that the road ahead would be a test, and also a gamble of life and death. But no matter what, they were ready. The Deathwing Mercenary Corps was officially open for business.
In a dim tunnel in the underground city, a group of Skaven were struggling to transport various minerals. Their bodies were thin and weak, their fur oily, and their eyes revealed despair and fear. These rat people were oppressed like slaves, carrying heavy slabs of stone and metal, striving to move towards the depths of the city.
A lazy Skaven slowed down his pace, trying to catch his breath cautiously. However, this behavior immediately caught the attention of the overseer—a larger, more muscular Skaven.
"You lazy scum!" the big rat roared, lashing out with a whip, striking the back of the smaller Skaven fiercely. The whip cut through the air with a chilling sound, followed by the smaller Skaven's painful screams.
The rat-man stood tall and proud, looking down at his "subordinates" with a satisfied and proud gaze, feeling secretly pleased with his excellent management.
However, at that moment, there was a sudden commotion at the rear of the group. Twenty or thirty Skaven were thrown into the air as if by a great force, screaming in agony, before crashing heavily back to the ground.
The slave rats were panicked and in disarray, all dropping the minerals they were holding and scattering like a disrupted ant colony, screaming and searching for a place to hide.
The big rat was stunned, his self-righteous sense of superiority shattered in an instant, replaced by chaos and fear. He turned to look behind, trying to identify the force that could have sent so many rats flying, only to see a sinister dark aura rapidly approaching them.
The dark aura approached rapidly, and the rat-man picked up the nearby spear, urgently ringing the alarm bell, attempting to summon the defenders of the city. They prepared to face this unknown threat. However, when they saw who was approaching, they instantly relaxed.
"It's just four humans, these weak creatures!" The rat-man charged towards the first human, emitting a smug hiss.
John aimed at the approaching rat-man, but in the instant he could pull the trigger, a mechanical arm shot out like lightning, instantly grabbing the rat-man's spear and twisting it off.
"Disciple of chaos, your end has come," Karenmu said coldly.
He raised his sacred warhammer, carved with the holy runes of the Mechanicus, and a powerful energy wave emanated from the warhammer. Without hesitation, Karenmu struck with force, instantly smashing the rat-man into pieces. A bright light shot out from the warhammer, burning the surrounding air and incinerating the remains of the rat-man.
"Don't let these minor characters distract us," Karenmu said coldly, then directed the other team members, "Move forward, we have more important things to do."
The surrounding miner mice looked at all of this, their eyes filled with fear, but at the same time, there was a strange sense of relief. They had never seen such a powerful and ruthless warrior, nor had they ever imagined that such a being would come to their underground city.
