Deathwing continues to traverse the dark labyrinth underground, advancing deeper into the city of Skaven. Every step is accompanied by a sense of oppression, and the chaotic, decaying atmosphere grows thicker in this dark land.
John leads the way, his energy pistol emitting dazzling beams of light, each one precisely hitting the vital points of the rat-men. He aims, shoots, and immediately turns to the next target, like a precise killing machine.
Alixia fought alongside him, her star dart gun acting as a conductor's baton for a symphony of death. With a graceful flick, the darts streaked through the darkness like lightning, piercing one rat person after another. Her expression was indifferent, her movements elegant, and each attack seemed like an art, a deadly art.
Taktron, on the other hand, was the team's information and technology expert. He manipulated a small console, constantly cracking the rat people's defense systems and traps. Whenever the team was about to enter a new area, Taktron swiftly analyzed and disarmed all potential threats, allowing the entire team to progress more smoothly.
Karenmu is an unstoppable force. With his massive hammer raised high, each strike is like the fury of a god, reducing the rat people corrupted by chaotic power to ashes. Every swing brings a violent storm of energy, turning all enemies to dust. In his wake, there is only scorched and shattered earth, a testament to his absolute hatred of chaos.
After passing through one dark tunnel after another, they finally arrived at a more open underground space. It no longer resembled a naturally formed cave, but rather a horrifying scene made of corpses and destruction. The ground was scattered with torn, broken, and even incinerated rat people bodies.
John stopped and pointed the gun slightly forward, took a deep breath, and said, "We're almost there. The chaotic energy here is getting stronger, there must be something unusual about to happen. Everyone get ready, the next battle will be even more intense."
Taktron lowered his visor and activated his smart scanner. The data on the screen scrolled rapidly and then froze on a three-dimensional model, confirming that the massive building in front of them was the Skaven armory.
The appearance of this arsenal makes people think of a large scrapyard. The building seems to be haphazardly assembled from various metals, stones, and wood of different origins and shapes. Every component here seems to have been casually torn from somewhere and then pieced together with welding or ropes. It looks like a huge shed put up temporarily, but this appearance contrasts sharply with the atmosphere it exudes.
Although the building gives a sense of patchwork and improvisation, it emits a chilling energy from its depths. This power is so intense that even Taktron's scanner can capture it. It is not only material energy, but also a bottomless darkness that evokes chaos itself. This chaotic force is like a hidden dark river inside the building, occasionally emitting low roars and foul odors.
" This place," Taktron sighed, "is even more dangerous than we expected."
John chuckled and wiped the bloodstains from his face with the back of his hand. "That's perfect, because we are the danger."
Taktron also smiled and then said seriously, "I have scanned the data inside the military factory. There are two huge energy tanks deep inside, and I can't analyze what kind of energy they contain, but I estimate it to be the essence of chaotic power. They are similar to the fuel used in the flamethrower by the giant rat we encountered earlier. Once detonated, the entire factory should be destroyed."
After listening to Taktron's analysis, John fell silent for a moment, then looked at Karenmu and Alixia. "Evacuation is a problem. We have penetrated deep into this area, surrounded by enemies, and a simple retreat route is no longer feasible."
Karenmu tightly grasped his giant hammer. "Indeed, the terrain and the enemies are not favorable for us to retreat easily. Taktron, do you have any good ideas?"
Taktron nodded and began to speak, "Based on my analysis of the energy field in this area, the chaotic energy here is relatively concentrated. Perhaps we can use this energy to perform a short-range subspace shift."
"A subspace transfer? Using the power of chaos? That sounds like a crazy plan," Alixia asked warily.
"There is indeed a certain level of risk," Taktron explained, "Chaos energy itself is unstable and dangerous, but this may be our only chance. I can try to use my device to locally stabilize the energy field, creating a sufficiently safe subspace channel for us to evacuate quickly."
"This approach is heretical to the doctrine of mechanics," Karenmu said in a low voice, "but in this situation, perhaps it is our only choice."
John furrowed his brow and finally said, "Taktron, if you can guarantee that this is relatively safe, then go ahead. We need to survive in order to continue fighting against the chaos."
Taktron nodded and began busily adjusting his device, while Alixia drew her star dart gun and checked the barrel and ammunition. "This action is foolish, but necessary. I will use my psychic power as your shield."
Karenmu then opened his book of mysticism, quickly flipping through the pages to find the corresponding rituals and runes. "I will cast a protective net to block the corrupting power of chaos. But it can only be maintained for a short time, we must act quickly."
John nodded and then said, "Once everything is ready, I will issue the attack command. Taktron, how much time do you need to initiate the hyperspace transfer?"
Taktron looked at his device and replied, "It will take about three minutes to stabilize the energy field."
"Okay, let's begin." John picked up his energy rifle, inserted a fresh magazine, and forcefully checked the operation of the mechanism.
"Get ready," John tightly gripped his rifle, "we are about to challenge chaos itself. Once successful, we can destroy this military factory and bring a glimmer of hope to this planet. But if we fail, there will be no turning back."
