John led a group of people firmly towards the gate of the military factory. His steps were steady and powerful, as if marching to the beat of destiny. Silently, he kicked open the huge steel door.
"Prepare for battle," John whispered, and instantly, their gazes sharpened.
At that moment, a group of Skaven appeared in their line of sight, seemingly patrolling.
"Let me handle these scum," Alixia elegantly stepped forward, her star javelin in hand like a bolt of lightning.
After leaving a lingering shadow in the air, Alixia swiftly charged forward. Her weapon moved so quickly that it was almost invisible, with the fate of the rat people being cut down one after another serving as evidence. The slashing marks intertwined in the air, and the heads of the rat people fell to the ground like autumn leaves.
"Keep moving forward!" commanded John.
They continued to advance, stepping on the bodies of the annihilated rat people with each step. However, these monsters seemed endless, constantly appearing like cell division.
"How many of these guys are there?" Taktron asked wearily.
John tightly gripped the energy pistol in his hand, when suddenly his eyes caught sight of an unusual object - a barrel marked highly flammable.
"Everyone, get down!" John shouted.
Just as his teammates reacted and crouched down, John pulled the trigger of the energy pistol.
A blue energy beam instantly hit the gunpowder barrel, followed by a deafening explosion that illuminated the entire military factory. The fireball broke through the ceiling, and the scorching shockwave instantly engulfed large swathes of rat people.
The dust settled, and John stood up, looking around. Apart from their team, there were no other life forms standing in that place.
As the smoke cleared, John stood up and looked at his comrades. Alixia's eyes remained cold but with a hint of approval. Taktron and Karenmu also stood up, checking their equipment.
"Okay, let's keep moving forward. This is just the beginning, and our goal is far from being reached," John said calmly.
The smoke of iron and fire intertwined to form a trail behind the Deathwing Mercenary Corps. No matter what kind of material, no matter how strong, it turned to dust in their path. The explosion and thunderous gunfire squeezed together, forming a symphony of despair and destruction. John led his team through the underground tunnel like a raging storm, where every corner and fork could hide enemies, but the Skaven had no means to stop them at all.
"Target ahead five hundred meters, looks like a factory or something. Scans show a large number of life forms, and one particularly large... possibly their leader?" Taktron observed on his multi-functional scanner, quickly sharing the information with others through the tactical network.
John nodded, "Understood, let's take them out in one go."
The door of the factory turned into scrap metal under the energy hammer of Karenmu, as fragile as paper. As the door shattered, a thunderous beam of light shot out from Alixia's star dart gun, piercing through the foremost Skaven. John and his team were not to be outdone, as their assault rifles and energy weapons came into play, causing the Skaven inside the factory to fall like grass under a lawnmower.
However, in the center of the factory, an abnormally large Skaven sat on a high platform, as if it were the emperor of this underground kingdom. Its eyes exuded cunning and evil, but more than anything, it showed disdain for the intruders.
"Hehehe, you fools dare to trespass into my territory. I am Skrallrex, the ruler of this great underground kingdom and the supreme warlord." The enormous Skaven, Skrallrex, looked down upon the Deathwing Mercenary Corps from a high platform.
His voice was a deep, disdainful, and commanding tone, as if it echoed from the depths of the earth. His gaze was so sharp, as if it could pierce through every person's soul.
"You have invaded my kingdom, killed my people, and now you dare to appear in front of me. Are you seeking death, or are you simply irredeemably foolish?"
John gave a slight smile, which was not friendly at all, but instead filled with the cold indifference and murderous intent of the battlefield.
"We are here to complete a mission, Sklarex, not to make friends with you. Your city has become a focal point of chaotic forces, and that is something we cannot tolerate."
A wicked smile crept onto Sklarex's lips. "Hmph, chaos? So what? In this bottomless underground, anything is possible. You have no idea what you are getting into."
Alixia tightly gripped her star dart gun and said coldly, "We know exactly what we're doing. Your twisted way of life and worship of chaos will only bring more disaster."
Skylarix sneered, "Disaster? This is evolution, this is power! If you insist on disrupting my plans, then let's settle this here and now!"
Taktron and Karenmu exchanged a quick glance. They knew that the upcoming battle would be tough and dangerous, but no one backed down, because they knew that this was not just a battle to complete a mission, but also a battle to stop the spread of chaos to a wider area.
Everyone was ready for the battle, tightly gripping their weapons. At this decisive moment, whether human, Eldar, Tau, or the warriors of the Machine Cult, they all became true allies, facing this evil and powerful enemy together.
