“Boom” “Sizzle”
Suddenly, without any warning, dark clouds gathered in the Azure sky, creating a feeling of overwhelming pressure as if a storm was about to descend upon the city.
It seemed that there was no need for a long prelude, as Torrential Rain began to pour down.
“Snap” “Pat” “Snap”
In the dimly lit forest, raindrops fell rhythmically on the leaves, producing a steady patter.
Puddles spread across the ground, mixing with the soil, and soon enough, Puddles appeared throughout the forest.
“Thunderous” a loud clap of thunder erupted.
The dim sky seemed to be torn apart by a bright Silver Blade, as a dazzling flash of lightning streaked across, accompanied by a series of Thunderous booms.
Suddenly, the bright light illuminated the ground, making even the dark forest appear bright.
As his gaze swept across the area, he suddenly noticed a figure lying on the ground among a cluster of low shrubs, causing him to question whether he was seeing things.
Cold raindrops struck his sharply defined face like knives. As the rainwater trickled down, a chilling sensation made him shiver involuntarily, causing his sword-like brows to furrow slightly.
He felt as if he were dreaming.
In his dream, he seemed to be wandering in front of doors that emitted light.
These doors varied in color and height, and he wanted to escape from this strange and boring dream.
In Bu Xin, he mused that after passing through one of these doors, he would encounter a so-called Flood Beast; or perhaps meet a goddess with an incredibly attractive figure and stunning beauty; or even come across a witch dressed in a long black robe, her skin wrinkled like dried orange peel, cackling eerily. This thought sent shivers down his spine and jolted him awake from the dream.
Uh, how absurd he thought.
However, contrary to his expectations, despite pushing and pulling at dozens of doors, none of them budged an inch, let alone opened.
Looking at the rows of light gates standing neatly like tombstones, seemingly endless, Bu felt a bit discouraged, experiencing a sense of helplessness akin to a mouse pulling a turtle with no strength to exert.
In desperation, he began to embrace his true nature, burying his head like an ostrich and starting to let go of his inhibitions.
"I refuse to believe this. I'll just wait here; dreams must end eventually," Bu thought, feeling somewhat speechless.
He then found a rather low and shabby-looking door and walked over to it.
It was indeed low, yet the door stood nearly two meters tall, which made one wonder how grand the taller light gates must be.
Using the threshold as a pillow, Bu lay on the ground and began to ponder how he ended up in such a strange dream.
He clearly remembered that he hadn't been asleep; how could he suddenly be dreaming? Bu felt puzzled.
After thinking for a while, his thoughts gradually became clearer. He recalled that he had been at home downloading a mobile game called “Vampire's Curse” on his phone.
To prepare for this, Bu had made himself a cup of coffee, thinking that after drinking it, he would be able to enjoy the game later in the evening and pass the time.
“Wait, the coffee... the coffee.”
Bu suddenly woke up.
He had indeed made himself a cup of coffee, but during the process of drinking it, he realized that the game had finished downloading. So, while sipping his coffee, he casually tapped on the phone screen to enter the game. After flipping through several uninteresting and silly screens, he discovered his customized character.
Hmm, the character's design was quite good. Bu assessed the character interface and inadvertently noticed a flashing mail icon at the bottom of the screen that caught his eye.
Out of curiosity, Bu clicked on the mailbox.
“Congratulations player! You have received a unique **reward randomly issued by System: First Generation Vampire Cain (gain) as your initial possession.”
Seeing this scene suddenly excited Bu.
As a fan, he was aware of the power of the First Generation Vampire, Cain.
According to legend, Cain was the first child born to Adam and Eve. Initially, Cain was not a vampire.
It is said that after he killed his brother Abel, the second child of Adam and Eve, God punished Cain by turning him into a vampire.
"Wow, not bad! The first embrace of the first generation vampire, a divine bloodline."
Thinking of this, Bu felt a surge of excitement.
However, this excitement led to tragedy because he was still holding a cup of coffee. As Bu hurriedly wiped the coffee stains off his charging phone,
There was a sizzling sound.
Amidst the electric sparks, Bu lost consciousness.
"Uh, did I faint? Hmm, I must have because I'm having this strange dream."
After figuring out the sequence of events, Bu comforted himself. To confirm it, he slapped himself hard.
"Smack!" "Ah! Why does it hurt so much? Isn't this a dream?"
Bu jumped up in pain from his reckless action, dazedly rubbing his cheek as he leaned back against the low, shabby door. Suddenly feeling a chill behind him, Bu sensed that his body was lifting off the ground.
"This is bad," was his last coherent thought.
The cold rain continued to spread across the ground, and at this moment, the downpour had intensified.
Bu gradually regained consciousness as waves of coldness washed over him. His clothes were completely soaked by the rain, clinging tightly to his body and outlining his somewhat defined muscles.
"Cough cough," it seemed that rainwater had entered his mouth and nose. Bu suddenly began to cough and slowly opened his somewhat elongated eyes as he regained awareness.
"Where is this?"
Gently grasping a handful of rain-soaked soil, Bu scanned his surroundings with a hint of confusion; everything in sight felt unfamiliar.
This was a dark forest, thick with underbrush. Rainwater dripped from the treetops, splashing onto the ground and sending droplets scattering. The ground was covered with decaying branches and leaves, emitting a musty odor.
The area was silent, except for the soft patter of rain and the intermittent chirping of unknown insects.
"How did I end up here?"
Bu murmured softly to himself, his voice echoing in the empty woods, but no one answered his question.
"Where is this? Am I kidnapped? No, wait, I think I fainted at home?"
Bu was genuinely bewildered; this was quite the predicament.
He began to frantically search his body.
"Oh no, my phone isn't with me. Did I leave it at home? But how did I end up lying here?"
Bu felt utterly lost; without his phone, he had no way to call for help. Even if he had it on him while lying in the rain for so long, whether it would still work was another issue.
Unable to make sense of the situation, Bu reverted to his instinctive nature.
"I can't think about this anymore. I need to get out of here. Ugh! Who's the idiot that left me here in the rain for so long? I'm going to catch a cold." Quickly rising from the muddy ground, Bu began to move.
The people of Wattsy Town continued their simple and unadorned lives.
Under the dim Magical Lantern Light of the town, only a few scattered figures could be seen on the old cobblestone streets due to the rainy weather.
It was dinner time; standing on the mountain outside Wattsy Town and looking down below, one could see lights flickering on in every low-roofed house. The chimneys released faint wisps of smoke into the drizzling rain.
The low city walls appeared somewhat eerie under the dim, weak light. A few lazy guards were avoiding the raindrops, huddled in the corners of the walls, quietly complaining and cursing about this ghostly atmosphere.
At this moment, Bu was staring blankly, lost in thought as he gazed at the somewhat ancient Western European-style buildings before him.
"Filming a movie?"
"Time travel?"
"No way!" Bu was completely flustered.
"Is there some mistake? I'm not the main character," he lamented.
Just as he was feeling utterly confused, a faint glow suddenly emanated from his left chest.
Bu was taken aback and curiously touched his heart area.
The moment his palm made contact with his chest, a sensation of palpitations surged from deep within him. He then felt an acceleration in the flow of blood within his body, as if he were engulfed in burning magma.
This bizarre and strange transformation left Bu in a state of panic.
Suddenly, a notification sounded.
"Ding! Physical quality assessment completed. Preliminary estimate: 8. Mental level assessment completed. Preliminary estimate: 6. Internal energy assessment completed. Preliminary estimate: 0. You have reached the minimum standard for merging with the bloodline. Would you like to begin merging with the vampire Cain's bloodline?
Yes or No
Countdown begins: 10
9
8
7."
When the sudden electronic synthesized voice appeared in Bu's mind, he was completely stunned, even neglecting his increasingly burning body and the relentless countdown of the electronic voice.
"Is this for real? I've really crossed over!" Bu couldn't believe it.
"Countdown: 0. The host is defaulting to merge with the bloodline of Vampire Cain."
"Huh?" Once he realized what was happening, Bu jumped up like a cat that had stepped on its tail.
"Ah, wait, wait. Hold on!"
Before he could finish his words or resist, he sadly fainted again, his body lying flat on the hillside outside Wattsy Town.
A faint Red Glow emitted an eerie light, which grew brighter and began to spread like flowing water from the dirty parts of Bu Xin's body to the rest of him. In an instant, Bu's entire form was completely enveloped, resembling a malevolent spirit pulled from a blood pool.
This scene unfolded on the dimly lit mountain, appearing particularly eerie and terrifying.
