When Jack opened his eyes again, he found himself lying in his own room on the Wind God-class. He felt a severe headache, as if someone had shoved a large block of ice into his mind and was violently stirring his brain inside, each rotation causing excruciating pain.
He grimaced in agony, clutching his head. Jack tried to find a shred of clarity in this tearing pain, his fingers trembling as if it took immense effort just to hold onto his head. Every vibration in the room seemed to resonate in his head, intensifying the pain.
Struggling, Jack propped his body against the head of the bed. His movements were clumsy and slow, each one accompanied by deep pain. He closed his eyes tightly, trying to alleviate the unbearable headache through deep breaths.
Jack took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. His heart was pounding in his ears, seemingly resonating with his pain. He tried to recall everything that had happened, but whenever he tried to focus, that sense of tearing would resurface, making it impossible for him to concentrate.
He felt extreme weakness and helplessness. Jack knew he needed time to recover, but he was filled with confusion and unease. This unprecedented headache made him anxious, unsure of when he could stand up again to face the upcoming challenges. In this cramped room, Jack leaned against the head of the bed, physically and mentally exhausted, quietly waiting for the pain to subside.
As time passed, the tearing pain slowly faded, like a sudden and intense hallucination that came and went. Jack felt a strange emptiness and confusion, sitting exhausted on the bed, slowly lifting his head to gaze at the indifferent ceiling, his eyes filled with bewilderment and incomprehension.
His thoughts gradually became clearer, and Jack began to make an effort to recall his last memory. In his mind, scenes began to slowly reassemble, as if piecing together a forgotten past. Gradually, he remembered the final fragments of his memory - it was a vision in a subspace, where he seemed to be overwhelmed by an extremely evil presence.
That evil presence brought him an unfathomable fear, a dark force that eroded the soul. He remembered that at that time, his body trembled uncontrollably, while his mind was plunged into chaos and despair. The feeling was as if he was tightly gripped by invisible claws, unable to break free.
In this hazy memory, Jack still remembers his teammates, who were also struggling against that powerful evil force. Everyone's expression was so painful and desperate, but they all persisted, unwilling to give up.
Now, sitting in this simple room, Jack feels a strange sense of loneliness and powerlessness. The experience left a deep impression on his soul, and he is not sure if he can fully recover from it. But he knows that even in the face of the unknown and fear, he must continue to move forward, because it is his mission and his responsibility.
Jack slowly stood up from the bed, his body feeling somewhat stiff, as if it had just been awakened after a long rest. He took a deep breath, trying to dispel the dazed feeling and make his mind more alert. He walked unsteadily to the bathroom, turned on the tap, and roughly splashed his face with cold water, feeling the cool droplets sliding down his cheeks, taking away some of the drowsiness.
In front of the mirror, Jack briefly gazed at his reflection. His eyes revealed a hint of weariness, but more so determination and resolve. He reached for the towel next to him and gently wiped his face, then turned and picked up the jacket hanging on the back of the chair. This familiar jacket made him feel a bit reassured, as if it were a small anchor of stability in this chaotic world.
At the moment he stepped out of the room, Jack felt a subtle discomfort in his body, making him realize that he might have been lying in bed for quite some time. As his steps became steadier, he began to worry about the condition of his teammates. They had experienced so much in subspace, with everyone struggling to survive under extreme conditions. Now, they all needed care and attention.
Walking through the corridor of the Wind God-class, Jack's steps were firm, each one seeming to reshape his determination. He needed to ensure the safety of his teammates, check for injuries, and see if there was anything else he needed to do. At this moment, as the team leader, he had to take on the responsibility of protecting and caring for each team member.
This is Jack's mission and also his steadfast belief. No matter how much unknown and challenges await them in the future, Jack knows that he will face them together with his teammates, and fight together. After all, they are a family on the Wind God-class.
Jack stepped onto the walkway leading to the bridge of the Wind God-class, with his teammates on his mind. When he pushed open the door to the bridge, a scene that slightly relieved him came into view. Karenmu, Alixia, and Taktron were sitting around a table, with a game screen flashing colorful lights in front of them.
Karenmu and Taktron are both very excited, their fingers moving quickly on the controllers, at times nervously biting their lips, at times letting out small victory shouts. Alixia sits to the side, calm and composed, seemingly quietly observing the showdown between the two. A slight smile plays on her face, indicating that she hasn't invested too much emotion into the game.
Jack stands quietly by the door, not immediately disturbing them. He observes this scene, feeling a warmth in his heart. After experiencing so many challenges and dangers, seeing his teammates relax like this, even enjoying a little fun, is a great comfort to him.
He noticed that the confrontation between Karenmu and Taktron was becoming more intense, and both of them had innocent smiles on their faces, as if the difficult battles and terrifying memories had been temporarily cast aside. Alixia occasionally gave a few quiet instructions, but mostly she was enjoying this peaceful moment.
