"Ah, Brother Rong is here too! Looks like sacrificing my sleep for this night was worth it!" Shi Tiankai greeted with a smile.
Ye Ming, while inviting Wu Rong to sit down, said, "Don't mention it. For me, just having Brother Rong join us once in ten drinking sessions would be enough to satisfy me."
At this point, he exchanged a knowing glance with Shi Tiankai and added, "But recently, Brother Rong seems troubled. I guess we won't be short on chances to drink together."
Shi Tiankai laughed heartily and immediately poured a glass of wine for Wu Rong. "Since you're here, let's drink up! Whatever troubles you have, you can forget them all with a drink."
"Exactly! In this regard, Old Shi has quite the experience!" Ye Ming recalled some of Old Shi's embarrassing moments from their university days and couldn't help but tease him.
However, at that time, Wu Rong was not in the country, so he wasn't very aware of those stories.
"Don't tell me you have no experience? How many times have you been dumped this year? Three or four?"
"That was me dumping others! At least I'm better off than you. Aside from that virtual relationship in college, have you ever really dated? You really are someone who gets scared after being bitten by a snake once; you're worse off than Brother Rong, who doesn't even get it!"
"What... I... I'm just busy with work! Besides, what do you mean by virtual? It was an online relationship; it was real!"
"Real my foot! You didn't see anything but the voice. You don't even know their basic information. How do you know it's not virtual?"
"I... I saw her! It was... real." Shi Tiankai was getting a bit tipsy and was trying hard to defend himself.
Ye Ming wouldn't back down. "Saw her? And yet you ended up heartbroken and were too scared to touch your computer for a while? You were sad for quite some time and drank every day to drown your sorrows? I just don't get it—did you see Dinosaur Girl or did you find out she was a guy that scared you so much?"
Shi Tiankai moved his lips but didn't continue speaking; instead, he started drinking quietly.
Ye Ming sighed. Every time they reached a crucial point in the conversation, it felt like Shi Tiankai's mouth was sealed. No matter how much he pressed him, he wouldn't reveal anything. Even when drunk, he never spoke of it as if it were a deep secret he would rather die than share.
Seeing that there was no progress with Shi Tiankai, Ye Ming turned his attention to Wu Rong.
Wu Rong seemed distracted as well and didn't want to listen to the two of them bickering; he just kept drinking quietly. By the time Ye Ming looked over again, an entire bottle of wine had mysteriously vanished.
Wu Rong had a decent alcohol tolerance, but surely he couldn't keep drinking like this!
When Wu Rong wanted another drink, Ye Ming quickly stopped him. "No... We're here to drink, not to commit alcohol suicide. If you want to drink, take it slow. This alcohol content is pretty high!"
Wu Rong didn't insist; once Ye Ming blocked him, he stopped drinking but kept the glass in his hand, absentmindedly staring into space.
Shi Tiankai glanced over and, feeling the effects of the alcohol, became more talkative. "Wu Rong, what's wrong? Have you been dumped too?"
Wu Rong certainly didn't look well. Perhaps tipsy Shi Tiankai sensed some kind of shared atmosphere between them!
Ye Ming pushed Shi Tiankai aside and said, "He hasn't even been in a relationship yet; how could he be talking about being dumped? Brother Rong still can't figure out if he likes Rao!"
Ye Ming was about to continue speaking when Wu Rong suddenly raised his wine glass, tilted his head back, and downed the remaining wine in one gulp before slamming the glass down heavily.
"I've made up my mind!"
"I've fallen for you!"
