Like many towns hidden beneath the Qinling Mountains, Gubei Town is a picturesque town in the northwest, nestled between mountains and water.
In the mid-1990s, a provincial leader had a sudden idea to acquire land in Gubei Town for the construction of the largest Film and Television Base in the Midwest region.
This news brought joy to the residents of Gubei Town for quite some time.
However, while the plans were grand, the results were meager.
The project for the Film and Television City aimed to attract 20 billion yuan in investment but ultimately drew in less than 100 million yuan.
The legendary Gubei Film City, touted as the largest in the Midwest, ended up being just a few classical courtyards for filming, covering less than a hundred acres.
Even so, this Film and Television City, which often hosted low-budget film crews and small tour groups, remained one of Gubei Town's most important sources of income.
It even became Gubei Town's calling card.
The leader responsible for publicity in the town always placed great importance on the film crews that came to shoot at Gubei Film and Television City.
Each crew that filmed here added prestige to this calling card, so whenever a medium to large crew with over 100 members arrived, the town would send dedicated personnel to assist with their filming needs.
In June 2020, Gubei Film and Television City celebrated its 20th anniversary while also welcoming its most significant filming crew since its establishment—the team for the movie Zhao Feiyan!
Directed by renowned domestic director Zhang Lei and starring popular actress Rong Liya, this historical drama had a total investment exceeding 100 million yuan and was expected to shoot at Gubei Film and Television City for three months.
To ensure that this large historical drama crew of over 400 people was well taken care of, Director Li Zhenian, responsible for publicity in Gubei Town, personally stepped in to assist the crew and coordinate various filming tasks.
At the beginning of June, the Zhao Feiyan crew settled into Gubei Film and Television City.
Heaven has been very favorable to the production team of "Zhao Feiyan," as the weather conditions have been excellent, allowing for a smooth filming process.
This shoot has lasted for more than two months.
As August approached its end, the filming entered its final stages.
The remaining scene was a significant action sequence where Zhao Feiyan is attacked while bathing in a hot spring.
Once this scene is completed, 95% of the outdoor filming for the movie will be finished.
However, during the filming of this scene, an issue arose on set.
It was August 25th.
Qixi Festival.
At two in the afternoon.
Under Niubi Mountain at Old Gou Hot Spring.
Over fifty crew members from the "Zhao Feiyan" production team worked tirelessly for more than three hours in 38-degree heat to prepare all the lighting, set design, tracks, and rigging for the hot spring location.
Non-essential personnel cleared out.
They were ready to officially begin shooting.
The lead actress playing Zhao Feiyan, Rong Liya, was dressed in a form-fitting sheer garment, half-sitting and half-lying by the hot spring pool. Her figure was graceful and enchanting, and her beauty was stunning.
The mist rising from the water nourished Rong Liya's delicate skin, giving her sweet and radiant face a rosy glow, resembling a charming young girl full of allure and vitality.
Since this is a big-screen film, the costume had to be somewhat modest; therefore, Rong Liya's outfit in the hot spring was not completely transparent.
Underneath the sheer fabric, she wore a jade-green undergarment that floated just below the surface of the water, creating an enticing image of her wet figure that sparked delightful fantasies.
The male staff members watching on-site were all captivated by the enchanting scene of Rong Liya in the bath.
Li Zhenian had heard that a major scene was being filmed today and had come to the set to help coordinate the work.
As he watched Rong Liya lounging by the hot spring, Director Li, who was over fifty, felt a burning sensation in his throat, as if it were drying out, and even swallowing saliva felt rough.
Just as Director Li was engrossed while supporting Tortoiseshell Glasses, a black bubble unexpectedly emerged from the clear green surface of the hot spring water: "Gurgle."
Then, to everyone's surprise, the surface of the water erupted like thunder, and a tall, dark-skinned young man shot up from below!
He burst out of the water like a carp leaping into the air.
This young man soared over a meter high before crashing back down into the hot spring, splashing water everywhere!
The onlookers were left dumbfounded, many startled by the sudden appearance.
Under everyone's gaze, the young man clumsily climbed out of the water, looking quite flustered.
He was covered in an unknown black liquid on his body and face, resembling someone who had just bathed in a filthy pond, exuding a nauseating stench.
Rong Liya, closest to him, noticed that he was holding a Seven-Hole Curved Blade that glimmered with a green light!
Even after emerging from the water, the sharp blade was still coated with thick black goo, looking cold and bloody.
Rong Liya turned pale at the sight of the Curved Blade.
She almost screamed but quickly covered her mouth with her hand, fearing that the young man would notice her.
In that instant of shock, everyone was caught off guard and couldn't comprehend what was happening.
Is it Director Zhang who changed the script?
Has the assassin's entrance changed?
But looking at this young man in camouflage, he doesn't seem like he's filming a period drama!
The suddenly appearing young man also seems confused.
His face was initially filled with terror.
After calming down, the young man realized he had accidentally intruded into someone else's filming location.
Turning around, he saw Rong Liya cowering by the poolside.
With a furrowed brow and without further explanation, he quickly stepped over and wrapped one arm around Rong Liya's slim waist, lifting her out of the contaminated hot spring.
Being embraced by the young man felt like being startled awake; Rong Liya curled up, her hands protecting her chest, overwhelmed by a tremendous sense of fear that left her unable to scream, her mind blank!
However, the young man had no intention of being lewd with Rong Liya.
Instead, he leaped and jumped out of the hot spring while holding Rong Liya.
It was unclear what kind of dirt was on him, but in that moment of entry and exit, he had already turned the originally clear green water completely black.
Once on shore, the young man loosened his grip on Rong Liya a bit.
Only then did Rong Liya regain her composure and scream in panic, "You pervert!!"
She hurriedly broke free from his embrace.
In her hasty retreat, Rong Liya tripped and fell to the ground, landing hard and nearly bruising her backside; she was truly in a state of utter embarrassment.
It was only then that everyone realized this young man was a peeping tom who had been hiding in the hot spring!
He is going to assault Rong Liya!
The surrounding staff were immediately enraged!
Several burly Martial Artists were itching to rush over and beat this guy up.
But seeing that he had a knife in his hand and was very close to Rong Liya, no one dared to act rashly.
"Who is being a rogue? This water is dirty; I'm just carrying you out."
As the young man spoke, he wiped the dirt off his face, revealing a handsome face with sharp eyes and thick brows.
Li Zhenian focused and recognized him!
He immediately pointed at the young man's nose and shouted, "Chen Xiaozhao! Are you crazy? What are you trying to do? Don't mess around!"
It turned out that this young man was Chen Xiaozhao, who sold Roujiamo in Film and Television City.
