The outline of the underworld appeared particularly distinct in the night, like a deep and intricate scroll slowly unfolding before Lin Xiaoxiao and Gu Sha. They were standing on an old bridge, with the river below shimmering in the moonlight. This was once a legendary place where souls crossed over, and tonight it would witness an extraordinary ghost-catching operation.
Lin Xiaoxiao adjusted her backpack, which contained her painting tools and some talismans for ghost-catching. She turned to Gu Sha, her eyes filled with determination, and asked, "Are you sure our target is here tonight?"
Gu sha nodded, his eyes piercing through the darkness as if he could see the secrets hidden in the shadows. "Yes, according to the information we've gathered, there has been a heavy gloom here recently, definitely something abnormal."
Lin Xiaoxiao tied up her hair, looking particularly serious. "Should we split up or stick together for this operation?"
Gu sha After thinking for a moment, he said, "Let's go together. This way we can look out for each other."
They walked across the bridge quietly and arrived at the other side of the river. The atmosphere here seemed even more eerie, with the surrounding sounds seemingly sucked away, leaving only the echo of their footsteps in the night wind.

Gu Sha gazed in that direction and saw a dark figure swiftly flash by, disappearing into the night. "They're here," he said in a low voice, while drawing the black longsword from his waist - the Mirror of Judgment.
Lin Xiaoxiao is also ready for battle, and the silver pendant necklace in her hand suddenly emits a soft light, which is her lucky charm and also her talisman.
They cautiously approached the big tree, and suddenly, a cold wind blew, bringing a sense of foreboding. Lin Xiaoxiao's heart raced, and she tightly held Gu sha's hand, giving each other some courage.
Just then, a sinister voice sounded in their ears: "Who goes there? How dare you disturb my peace."
Gu sha responded in a deep voice: "We have come to appease your resentment and allow you to rest."
The voice sneered, "Rest? How could I possibly rest! This world owes me too much!"
Lin Xiaoxiao couldn't help but retort, "By being so entangled like this, you're only making yourself more miserable!"
The voice suddenly raised a few notches, filled with madness: "Pain? Haha, I have long been accustomed to pain! Come, let me see your abilities!"
Then, the temperature around dropped suddenly, and a blurry figure emerged from the darkness, its gaze filled with anger and hatred, staring directly at Lin Xiaoxiao and Gu sha.
Lin Xiaoxiao and Gu sha immediately prepared for battle, but they both knew that facing such an enemy, relying solely on strength was not enough; they needed more strategy.
Gu sha took the lead, his long sword drawing a beam of light, aiming directly at the figure. However, the figure seemed to anticipate his move and easily dodged it.
Lin Xiaoxiao saw that Gu sha's attack was not successful, and feeling anxious, she suddenly came up with a solution. "Gu sha, use your sword to reflect the moonlight and illuminate it!"
Upon hearing this, Gu sha immediately understood Lin Xiaoxiao's intention. He quickly adjusted the angle of the sword to allow the cold moonlight to reflect through the blade and shine towards the figure.
The figure suddenly appeared very uneasy, its voice becoming sharp, "No! Don't shine on me!"
Lin Xiaoxiao seized the opportunity, quickly stepped forward, and shot the light from her pendant towards the figure. Under the light, the figure gradually weakened and eventually turned into a beam of light, disappearing into the air.
Gu sha sheathed the long sword and turned to look at Lin Xiaoxiao with a look of admiration. "You did very well."
Lin Xiaoxiao smiled, a bit tired but satisfied. "We did it."
They exchanged a smile and then left the place together, leaving behind a peaceful river shimmering in the moonlight.
With the resolution of this incident, the relationship between Lin Xiaoxiao and Gu Sha seemed to have progressed further. However, Lin Xiaoxiao had some doubts in her heart. She didn't know if Gu Sha's feelings for her were truly as deep as he had shown, or if they were simply due to their contract and shared mission.
