Chapter 43: The Mountain Has Trees 3
Zhou Xuanyu escorted her to the entrance of Class 9, Year 1, and before leaving, he simply instructed, "Call me when it's over."
Junxi stood at the door, watching his retreating figure, lost in thought until a teacher's voice broke through from inside the classroom.
"Excuse me, miss at the door. If you're here for the parent-teacher meeting, please come in and find a seat. We're about to start."
Jun Xuan's homeroom teacher was a young woman who seemed to be around Junxi's age based on her attire. Her voice was gentle and delicate, not lacking in energy but rather possessing a soft charisma.
Junxi lowered her head to review her brother's report card. Jun Xuan's grades were excellent, consistently ranking in the top five of his year with very few slip-ups, and this time was no exception.
Her brother's achievements were the reason for her hard work.
When their parents were taken away, she promised them that she would take good care of Jun Xuan and ensure he grew up to be outstanding. This promise had sustained her all these years. The Wen family had fallen into such disarray that Wen siblings could not allow anyone to look down on them anymore.
She meant what she said.
The parent-teacher meeting was straightforward; the young teacher used a PowerPoint presentation to share the students' academic and personal situations with the attending parents. Throughout the meeting, Wen Junxuan's name appeared as an example. Junxi felt proud.
As the meeting drew to a close and most parents began to leave, the young homeroom teacher suddenly called out to Junxi.
"May I ask if this is the parent of Wen Junxuan?"
Junxi stood up. "Yes, I am his sister."
"I wanted to contact you a couple of days ago, but with the parent-teacher meeting, things got busy. I thought it would be better to wait until today to inform you about Wen Junxuan's situation, so you wouldn't have to make an extra trip."
The homeroom teacher's suddenly serious expression indicated that the news she was about to share was not good, yet Junxi remained smiling and patiently awaited further details.
"Here's the thing: after self-study on Wednesday night, Wen Junxuan got into a fight with a male classmate in the dormitory."
A fight? Although Junxi had prepared herself for bad news, she was still taken aback and instinctively covered her mouth. She simply could not associate her slender brother with such a fierce term.
"Why did they fight?"
"He refuses to say and insists we don't contact you," the young homeroom teacher said, a hint of helplessness showing in her delicate features as she spoke about the stubborn Junxuan.
"What happened afterward? How was it resolved?"
"The boys who witnessed the incident all agree that your brother started it. So..."
Junxi felt a jolt of panic; despite her unease, she firmly replied, "Teacher, let me clarify things first. If it turns out my brother was in the wrong, I will make him apologize."
The homeroom teacher shook her head. "Junxi, this isn't just about an apology anymore. The parents of the boy who was hit are demanding that the school dormitory management expel Wen Junxuan."
"Expulsion? Does that mean kicking Jun Xuan out of the dormitory?"
"Isn't it a bit excessive to make such a decision without understanding the situation between classmates? I won't agree to the school just throwing my brother out of the dorm," Junxi's tone became firm.
The homeroom teacher furrowed her brows, momentarily at a loss for words. The girl before her was clearly younger, yet there was an undeniable fierceness in her demeanor.
In truth, the school didn't have to be so extreme, especially since Wen Junxuan had such excellent academic performance. But who could blame them when he had crossed paths with Qingcheng, the Deputy Secretary's son...
"Where is my brother right now? I want to see him."
"He's in the library at the moment..."
Upon hearing this, Junxi hobbled out in a rush.
