Zhou Xuanyu clenched his fist by his lips and cleared his throat, feeling a bit flustered, before quickly diverting his gaze.
Junxi was so beautiful… just looking at him seemed to provoke a reaction.
He walked to the edge of the tent, opened the blanket in his hands, and draped it over the top of the tent. The silhouette inside was obscured, allowing him to freely gaze without restraint.
Junxi moved slightly inside, while he stood at the entrance, back turned to the tent, like a knight guarding a princess, steadfastly watching over her.
"What should I do with my wet clothes?" Junxi suddenly pulled open the door, poking her head out and looking up at Zhou Xuanyu.
"Just leave them in the car. Turn on the air conditioning and let them dry overnight," Zhou Xuanyu replied, extending his hand. "Give them to me."
Junxi blinked, hesitating.
Her intimate clothing was there; how could she bear to hand it over like that? Yet, wearing his shirt and running out of the tent was equally embarrassing for her.
"Hmm?" Zhou Xuanyu frowned.
"You’re not allowed to look," Junxi mumbled.
Zhou Xuanyu chuckled at her shy demeanor and nodded. "I won’t look."
Only then did Junxi feel reassured enough to pass her clothes to Zhou Xuanyu.
He took them and walked directly toward the car. He had already put on a disposable seat cover, so her clothes could be spread out on the seat without worrying about damaging the leather.
To help them dry faster, he had no choice but to unfold Junxi's neatly stacked clothes; he knew she had intentionally folded them. As he casually shook them out, he discovered her intimate garments hidden at the very bottom… adorned with cartoon patterns.
Zhou Xuanyu couldn't help but smile, laughter escaping him unexpectedly.
What a sight, Wen Junxi!
"Why are you so slow?" Junxi called out as she waited for him to return.
Zhou Xuanyu walked back slowly.
"Didn’t you see?" she asked, her concern evident.
"What?" Zhou Xuanyu feigned ignorance.
Junxi sighed in relief. "It's nothing."
He nodded and pulled a blanket from the tent, handing it to her.
"Wrap this around you; it's cold outside."
Junxi obediently wrapped the blanket around herself. She looked up at the dazzling starry sky and said with a hint of anticipation, "I wonder if there will be any shooting stars tonight."
Zhou Xuanyu remained silent, simply sitting at the entrance of the tent.
"Aren't you cold?" Junxi asked.
He had just draped his coat over her shoulders, and since it was wet from her, he couldn’t wear it again. Underneath, he only had a thin cardigan on, so sitting outside the tent must be chilly for him too.
"I'm not cold."
"Impossible."
Junxi didn’t believe him. As she spoke, she crawled out of the tent and sat beside him.
Zhou Xuanyu glanced at her; the white collar of his shirt contrasted with her long, fair neck, exuding both grace and a touch of boldness.
Junxi loosened one corner of the blanket tightly wrapped around her and shared half of it with Zhou Xuanyu, draping it over his shoulders.
"Together," she said softly.
"No need..."
Zhou Xuanyu wanted to refuse, but Junxi quietly wrapped her arm around his, resting her head on his shoulder.
His body stiffened for a few seconds. Although she had changed into his clothes after removing hers, the familiar fragrance that lingered on her was still there, stirring feelings within him that had long been dormant. Emotions he thought he had buried began to sprout quietly.
He wanted to push her away, yet he couldn't bring himself to do it.
Junxi didn’t notice the change in Zhou Xuanyu; in order to keep warm, she pressed even closer.
Zhou Xuanyu thought this was destined to be a difficult night. Bringing her out like this might have been a mistake...
After waiting for a long time, they still hadn’t seen any shooting stars. Zhou Xuanyu remained in his original sitting position, fully awake. Junxi, however, felt a bit sleepy and laid her head down on Zhou Xuanyu's legs to sleep. Before closing her eyes, she reminded him, "If you see a shooting star, remember to wake me up."
Zhou Xuanyu nodded and assured her it was fine, which made her feel at ease enough to drift off.
In a hazy state, she lost track of how long she had been asleep. In her drowsiness, she felt someone gently stroking her hair at the forehead; it was an itchy yet heartwarming sensation.
Junxi opened her eyes again; it was already midnight. Zhou Xuanyu still sat as he had before she fell asleep, steady and clear-headed without a hint of drowsiness.
As for the shooting stars, not even one had appeared.
"It seems there won't be any shooting stars. Let's sleep," Junxi said as she sat up.
Zhou Xuanyu loosened his legs that had gone numb under her weight and reached out to smooth her messy hair back into place. He asked her, "Are you disappointed that we didn't see any shooting stars?"
"Not disappointed."
Zhou Xuanyu looked at her thoughtfully and nodded. Perhaps it was because they had been sitting outside for too long in the cold; his voice came out slightly hoarse.
"I'm just a bit regretful."
"Oh? Do you have a wish to make?" Junxi blinked, having just woken up, her pupils particularly bright.
"Yes." Zhou Xuanyu's gaze remained fixed on her eyes, unwavering.
Junxi felt a bit flustered and averted her gaze, too afraid to ask what his wish was. Once, on the snowy fields of France, she had asked him that question, and the answer had left her so troubled and sad that she dared not ask again.
Because Zhou Xuanyu's heart was something she could not decipher.
"Aren't you going to ask me what I wish for?"
Junxi pouted her lips, feigning a bit of arrogance. "It doesn't concern me anyway."
Zhou Xuanyu turned Junxi's shoulders toward him, looking at her seriously. "I want you to be my girlfriend. Tell me, does that concern you?"
"Huh?" Junxi was taken aback, but the joy in her eyes was unmistakable. "Say that again."
Zhou Xuanyu held her face earnestly, his gaze filled with affection. "Junxi, will you be my girlfriend?"
Junxi still couldn't believe it. The person she had liked for so many years, someone she thought she could never be with, was now saying something like this to her?
"You brought me camping just to say this?"
"No." Zhou Xuanyu truly hadn't planned such a hasty confession. It was simply that seeing her so peacefully asleep in his arms and then waking up made his heart too soft, causing his defenses to crumble as well.
His confession was born from the atmosphere, from where his heart led him, and it naturally elevated after all the tenderness reached a certain point. He wanted to have her—truly have her—without any time limits or false pretenses to make her his woman.
"So were you prepared to say this all along?" Junxi asked curiously. But before Zhou Xuanyu could respond, she quickly interrupted herself. "Never mind, never mind; that's not important. I agree."
"What do you agree to?" Zhou Xuanyu teased her.
"I agree to be Zhou Xuanyu's girlfriend!"
She jumped up excitedly and wrapped her arms around Zhou Xuanyu's neck.
Zhou Xuanyu felt a rush of sweetness as he held her tightly; her soft body felt like a ball of glutinous rice, clinging to him.
Junxi leaned against Zhou Xuanyu's shoulder. Even though they were so close, she still felt as if this was all a dream. She slightly pulled away from him and took the initiative to lower her head and kiss his lips.
Zhou Xuanyu was momentarily stunned but quickly began to respond to her.
Junxi's lips were like the creamy filling of a pastry, becoming sweeter the deeper their kiss went.
Their heated lips intertwined, tongues dancing together, reluctant to part. Junxi was seated on Zhou Xuanyu's lap, wearing only his shirt.
Zhou Xuanyu knew all too well that beneath that shirt, there was nothing at all.
The shirt was long enough for Junxi, but in her position, it barely covered the tops of her thighs...
Zhou Xuanyu's breathing grew heavy, every cell in his body reminding him that he was on the edge of losing control.
"Junxi. Let's go inside." He paused, resting his forehead against hers as he caught his breath and said, "It's getting late; we should sleep."
Junxi, still dazed from his kisses, suddenly felt a bit fuzzy when he stopped.
Zhou Xuanyu released her and pulled open the tent flap.
Junxi crawled in with both herself and the blanket, while Zhou Xuanyu stood outside for a moment, letting the cool breeze wash over him.
"You should come in and sleep too," Junxi finally said as she regained her senses. She sat at the entrance, tugging gently at Zhou Xuanyu's sleeve.
Once again, Zhou Xuanyu felt his heart stir at her gesture and followed her inside.
The two-person tent was spacious enough; even with Zhou Xuanyu's height of six feet tall, it still felt roomy. Junxi watched as he zipped up the tent and then carefully checked the corners before finally lying down.
Junxi leaned in, resting against his solid body in the crook of his arm.
Zhou Xuanyu placed a kiss on her forehead before turning off the light.
In the darkness, they held each other tightly, and Junxi could feel her heartbeat still lingering from the passionate moment they had just shared, unable to calm down.
Suddenly, she turned over and climbed onto Zhou Xuanyu's body.
"Junxi..." Zhou Xuanyu pressed her shoulders down, vaguely seeing her silhouette in an ambiguous posture above him.
She felt almost weightless.
"Take me," her voice trembled slightly but carried a sense of determination.
It seemed she had made up her mind about something.
Zhou Xuanyu remained silent.
Junxi's restless hands began to explore his chest, and her lips clumsily sought his. Perhaps due to the poor visibility, her series of actions appeared awkward.
Yet it was this awkwardness that ignited a fire within him.
"Do you know what this means?" Zhou Xuanyu's voice was heavy in the darkness, sending a shiver down her spine.
"I know."
Compared to her scattered rationality, her response was calm.
Zhou Xuanyu took a deep breath and finally flipped her over, pinning her beneath him.
His kisses fell like a sudden downpour, and it felt as if Junxi's breath was completely stolen away. But she did not plead for mercy or ask him to stop; she responded with fervor to what she could and willingly endured what she could not...
Zhou Xuanyu's hands, carrying the spark of desire, began to roam over her body.
The shirt belonged to him, and he knew exactly how to undo it the fastest.
Junxi felt a chill run through her body, but Zhou Xuanyu paused his movements. She steadied her mind and saw him half-pressing her legs down, quickly shedding his clothes.
The moonlight filtered through the tent, outlining Zhou Xuanyu's strong physique—his shoulders, his arms, and his chest… every part was perfect.
He leaned down again, their bodies now completely free from any obstruction, so close that the texture of their skin could kiss and embrace seamlessly.
Junxi wrapped her arms around his neck, parting her lips for him.
He lowered his head and kissed her gently, more tenderly than ever before, as if he were kissing the most precious treasure.
The intensity of his kiss made Junxi feel a rush of warmth throughout her body. Even though he held her tightly, she still felt that a part of her remained unfulfilled.
“Xuan Yu!”
This whisper sent Zhou Xuanyu's rationality into a frenzy.
In her memories, she had always been casual with him. Calling him Zhou Xuanyu by name was common. Later, when they reunited, she had even called him “Xuan Yu Uncle” with a hint of distance… But in this moment, as she called out his name so intimately, with a breathy allure and a touch of vulnerability, he realized that Wen Junxi lying beneath him had truly become a woman, and she was ready to bloom.
He continued to kiss her, mixing seduction with guidance.
Junxi was inexperienced; such close intimacy had already left her dizzy with emotions. Meanwhile, Zhou Xuanyu remained clear-headed, waiting and feeling.
When would this little flower lay out a red carpet for him? When would the nectar flow to welcome his arrival?
“Zhou Xuanyu!”
In the midst of his teasing, Junxi was already on edge, nearly in tears from the overwhelming sensations.
After she called out his name, Zhou Xuanyu finally began to take action. He descended upon her like a mountain, his hands clasping hers firmly.
Junxi's fingers intertwined with his, and at that moment, she felt a heart-wrenching pain pierce through her body.
"Ugh!" she let out a muffled groan, tears spilling from the corners of her eyes.
Zhou Xuanyu, after that moment of roughness, gradually softened again. He lowered his head, kissing away her tears, tenderly embracing her back and pulling her close to his chest, shifting her into a more comfortable position.
The pain for Junxi slowly transformed into a wonderful sensation.
Zhou Xuanyu began to kiss her again, amplifying the pleasure beneath her.
Junxi clutched the thin blanket tightly as Zhou Xuanyu took her to the peak of the world.
This was her first time, offered to the man she loved amidst the cool evening breeze, the faint chirping of insects, and the countless stars above.
She would not regret it.
The night was deep and enchanting...
A night of passion nearly left Junxi exhausted.
When she opened her eyes, there was no one left in the tent. Wrapped in a thin blanket, every movement sent aches through her back and waist.
Zhou Xuanyu was not by her side, but the wet clothes she had changed out of were neatly folded beside her.
She touched them; they were already dry.
Her intimate garments remained hidden among the clothes, seemingly untouched by anyone.
Junxi sat up, changed into her clothes, and lifted the tent flap to find Zhou Xuanyu sitting at the entrance.
Hearing the sound, he turned his face towards her.
Junxi blushed early in the morning. She brushed her bangs aside and said casually, "Good morning."
"Morning," Zhou Xuanyu replied expressionlessly.
Junxi crawled out of the tent, greeted by bright sunshine outside.
"Come over to brush your teeth and wash your face," Zhou Xuanyu said as he stood up, retrieving a new toothbrush and cup from the car and handing them to her.
Junxi took them.
Zhou Xuanyu then casually opened a bottle of mineral water and poured it into Junxi's cup.
While he was doing these things, Junxi didn't dare to look at him much.
"Go to the riverbank," Zhou Xuanyu pointed.
Junxi walked over and saw Xiaochun and her boyfriend washing their faces by the river.
"Be careful not to fall in," Zhou Xuanyu reminded her from behind.
"Do you think I'm stupid?" Junxi mumbled with a toothbrush in her mouth, turning back to retort.
That was the most spirited thing she had said all morning.
Zhou Xuanyu smiled slightly, feeling relieved.
It seemed that everything that had happened last night hadn't changed her attitude toward him, which was good.
As Junxi reached the riverbank, Xiaochun noticed her too.
"Junxi!" Xiaochun called out. "How was last night?"
Junxi wasn't sure what Xiaochun meant, so she pretended to be busy brushing her teeth and didn't respond.
"Was there a meteor last night?" Xiaochun asked again.
Junxi realized that this was what she meant.
She shook her head.
Seeing this, Xiaochun immediately turned to look at her boyfriend.
"You see, good thing we didn't wait. Otherwise, we would have wasted a wonderful night."
Xiaochun's boyfriend said something, and they both giggled. In no time, the two were passionately kissing again.
They truly were a fervent and clingy couple.
Junxi averted her gaze and smiled lightly.
After last night, she no longer felt flustered by such intimate scenes and ambiguous lines.
After all, she had become a complete woman. When it came to matters between men and women, she considered herself experienced.
After brushing her teeth and washing her face, Junxi turned around to find Zhou Xuanyu already taking down the tent. Compared to setting it up, he seemed more careful in dismantling it, as if the tent had suddenly gained significant meaning for him after last night.
"Are we heading back?" Junxi asked.
Zhou Xuanyu nodded.
"There’s food in the car. You should eat something first. Once I finish packing up here, I'll take you out for breakfast," he said before focusing back on his tasks.
Junxi stood there watching him for a while. This man still maintained such a calm demeanor towards her. It was as if the person who had shared such an intimate night with her was someone else entirely.
She had thought that Zhou Xuanyu would be different upon waking up today. It seemed she had overthought it.
Junxi obediently went to the car first. The soreness in her body made her not want to move at all, let alone help him.
Inside the car, there was milk and bread, and the apples were also washed clean.
If there was any change, it was that Zhou Xuanyu seemed to be even more considerate than before.
Junxi picked up an apple and took a bite. The sweet and sour juice surged into her chest, leaving behind an indescribable sweetness.
Once Zhou Xuanyu finished packing, he neatly placed the tent in the trunk. After confirming that nothing was left behind, he sat down in the driver's seat.
Having just finished an apple, Junxi felt a bit awkward licking her lips when she saw him come in.
Zhou Xuanyu held onto the steering wheel, not in a hurry to start the car.
"Does it still hurt?" He had been looking straight ahead but suddenly turned to look at her when he asked.
Junxi blinked, realizing what he was asking.
She pressed her hot cheeks down and said softly, "It doesn't hurt anymore, just my back is sore."
As soon as she finished speaking, Zhou Xuanyu's hand reached over. He gently massaged her lower back. In that tender moment, Junxi felt a tickle and accidentally laughed out loud.
Zhou Xuanyu's tense expression softened a little because of her laughter.
His large hand covered her head, affectionately rubbing it.
In that moment, everything was unspoken.
"Shall I take you for breakfast?" Zhou Xuanyu confirmed with Junxi once more before setting off.
"Wait a minute," Junxi leaned forward to look out the window. After glancing a few times, she pulled her head back and said to Zhou Xuanyu, "I clearly remember being here before, but why does it feel like a dream?"
Zhou Xuanyu cradled Junxi's head and leaned in to kiss her lips. Her lips tasted of apples.
"What's happening now?"
Junxi looked into his deep eyes and said dreamily, "It feels more like it now."
Zhou Xuanyu sighed, about to pull his hand away, but Junxi grasped his arm tightly.
She kissed him back, deeply, as if trying to confirm something, kissing him with fervor.
"Does what you said last night still count?" Junxi asked uncertainly.
"Of course."
"Then you belong to me from now on, right?"
"Yes," he replied firmly.
