The retreat of the marauders was like lifting a spell that had been cast over the marketplace. Suddenly, people seemed to regain their freedom, and the sounds and energy returned to this land. The nomads returned to the market, discussing and expressing their heartfelt gratitude to the guards and Shiva.
Shiva silently bound the hands and feet of the unconscious marauder leader as if restraining a dangerous beast with ropes. He stood up, turned around, and saw Bratislava being helped up by others, looking somewhat weary but still grateful.
Bratislava sat on a simple wooden chair, looking at Shiva and said, "You are really strong. I thought you were just a kid, but you managed to handle all these people in no time."
Shiva put away the dagger, returned it to his belt, and then replied calmly, "Defeating this person was just one important factor in defeating Agastya."
This sentence is like a heavy bomb exploding in the market. When the nomads heard Shiva mention defeating Agastya, they first showed an expression of disbelief, then it seemed like they heard the biggest joke, and some even sneered disdainfully.
"Agastya? That notorious bandit leader? Are you sure you're not joking?" A middle-aged man looked skeptical.
Shiva maintained his usual calm, his gaze firmly sweeping over the crowd, finally stopping at the middle-aged man: "Agastya is not just a bandit leader, he is also a warlord. He holds more secrets and power than we know. He is a threat, not only to our village, but to the entire world."
A silence fell over the marketplace as people looked at each other and laughed, apparently not many were willing to believe Shiva's words.
However, Bratislava felt a slight unease in his heart, unsure if Shiva's words were true, but he was certain that the young man before him was no ordinary person. Bratislava looked at Shiva again, with a hint of respect and anticipation in his eyes, as if he saw a key figure who could potentially change everything.
Sensing the awkward atmosphere, Bratislava stood up and clapped his hands to get everyone's attention.
"Today, thanks to Shiva, we were able to protect everyone's belongings and safety. Not only did he repel the looters, but he also captured their leader. For this, we should feel happy and relieved," said Bratislava firmly.
Then, he turned to Shiva and sincerely said, "Tonight, I strongly recommend that you stay here. I know it's a bit run-down, but we are hospitable people."
Shiva was touched by this sincerity and enthusiasm. He smiled and nodded, "Alright, but before that, I need to have a good chat with the leader of these unconscious raiders."
Several nomads began to gather around the recently fought individuals, inspecting their injuries one by one and starting to provide simple bandaging and treatment.
Bratislava heard Shiva's response, and felt a warmth in his heart. He became even more curious and admiring of Shiva's true identity and purpose. He felt that this young man not only had excellent combat skills, but also had a convincing leadership quality.
"Then please follow me, I will have someone find a quiet place for you to talk to the leader of the marauders," Bratislava warmly invited.
Shiva smiled again and followed Bratislava towards a small tent to the side. He knew that this battle might only be a small part of his challenging journey ahead, but every experience would be an important step towards his ultimate goal. Conversations and information, sometimes, were more important than battles, and now, he needed to get more information about Agastya from the leader of the raiders.
In the dense forest behind the tent, several nomads tightly grabbed the wrists and ankles of the raider leader, using disproportionate force to drag the large man over. They skillfully hoisted him upside down on a sturdy tree trunk using thick ropes. The ropes tightly bound his wrists and ankles, trapping him like a trapped animal.
Shiva gently reached out his hand, signaling to the nomads. His eyes were full of trust and gratitude, as if telling them: everything is under control.
The nomads exchanged glances, then nodded. They silently backed away, stepping onto the dark path of the jungle, leaving Shiva alone with the bound leader of the raiders.
Due to being hung upside down, his blood quickly rushed to his head, causing him to wake up quickly. He coughed, his vision blurry, trying to identify the eyes in the darkness. The leader of the raiders struggled for a moment, but soon gave up.
Moonlight filtered through the cracks in the leaves, casting irregular shadows. Shiva's eyes flickered within, like a fierce beast in the night, revealing a kind of deathly calm and determination.
"You're awake," Shiva's voice was calm but cold, like water flowing out of a glacier.
The leader of the marauders grumbled, forcing a crooked smile despite the fear and defeat in his eyes.
"What are you trying to ask me? Do you think you can scare me like this?" The leader of the raiders responded with a mocking and provocative tone.
Shiva sneered and did not directly respond to his question. Instead, she walked over, took out a dagger, and brought it close to the raider leader's face.
"Will you tell me why you attacked here, and what your relationship with Agastya is? Otherwise, I will make you watch your own blood drip until you agree to tell me everything," Shiva's eyes were as sharp as blades, cutting directly into the fear in the leader of the raiders' heart.
The leader of the raiders instantly became serious, realizing that his fate was in the hands of this seemingly young but extremely dangerous assassin. He no longer had the will to resist, knowing that this person before him was much more ruthless than any enemy he had ever encountered.
